On paper, it sounds totally absurd to play as "memetic" a song as Night of Nights for the final boss theme. But man, it's a great bit of fanservice that works REALLY well in context.
Friend was streaming this last night, and almost only used the Lost Holy Sword. Shield daggers were great against destructible projectiles, but the sword rendered the Emerald Splash useless.
My adrenaline metter went from 50 to 200% percent at that moment. I saw the lasers and my first response was to stop time, see what could I do, and then went beneath her and double jumped and threw knives upwards That was... it. But the adrenaline that the song gives is just too strong... even stronger than the strongest...
I know it's one of those meme songs that has been so overjoked that you'll never be able to take it seriously, but in context, given that the fight with Flandre is, scientifically speaking, 200% pure unadulterated fucking chaos, it fits like a bloody charm.
Everyone talking about Thousand Daggers, but the Chainsaws made bosses easier and more fun. Having to time it for a perfect health drop was amazing. And, even better, the triple saws of death at the end of my upgrade spree made me unstoppable.

Surprised that nobody's pointed out the intro part from Last Brutal Sister Flandre S, right before the main melody kicks in / towards the end of the theme (so even though It's still mostly Night of Nights, there's still a bit of Flandre boss music in there).
This game is Sakuya's crowning moment. She has possibly become the most powerful force in Touhou canon thanks to Luna Nights. And nothing feels more like it than this song.
As my first touhou experience this game was a BLAST. I did nearly everything, these bosses are so much fun, would love to try the mainline games sometime

Played this game off a recommendation from a friend. I usually hate metroidvania stuff but everything about this game had me hooked, the combat, the music, the sprite art (I'm a pixel artist and was absolutely blown away by some of it), and the boss fights especially. Seeing this song title flash on screen after having listened to Night of Nights so many times might just be what gets me hooked on this series. Absolutely the hypest I've been about a video game in some time.

So... the first time I fought this boss, it felt IMPOSSIBLY DIFFICULT, I don't know why but I got so destroyed that I actually replayed the game without selling ANYTHING just to see if that makes it easier (it doesn't). I finally beat her, went on to beat Cirno and Reimu in the extra zone, and now coming back to the game a month later to fight this boss again on my original file, and I did it without even breaking a sweat?? I guess the absolute brick wall that was Reimu made me so strong that everything else feels like a joke by comparison

Easiest way to dodge them is to go directly beneath Flandre or run in one direction I've seen

I usually hate metroidvania stuff but everything about this game had me hooked, the combat, the music, the sprite art (I'm a pixel artist and was absolutely blown away by some of it), and the boss fights especially. Seeing this song title flash on screen after having listened to Night of Nights so many times might just be what gets me hooked on this series. Absolutely the hypest I've been about a video game in some time.

ngl, that moment when u are dodging every single attack of the boss while acting like a real pro then this music kicks in is just a big boost
I love how well this song fits for just about any situation your in during the final boss fight. Low health? A fast desperate song to encourage you to end. Max health? Now it's a theme that's about you reaching an apex in this fake world. It's a great song for the final boss theme.

So... the first time I fought this boss, it felt IMPOSSIBLY DIFFICULT, I don't know why but I got so destroyed that I actually replayed the game without selling ANYTHING just to see if that makes it easier (it doesn't). I finally beat her, went on to beat Cirno and Reimu in the extra zone, and now coming back to the game a month later to fight this boss again on my original file, and I did it without even breaking a sweat?? I guess the absolute brick wall that was Reimu made me so strong that everything else feels like a joke by comparison

The Devs NAILED IT with this tune, been waiting for it the whole game then it kicks in at the pivotal moment
