In Touhou, battles are fought with Spell Card rules. I don't know the full rules of it but I know you cannot kill anyone. In Luna Nights, Remillia Scarlet made a copy of Gensokyo where Sakuya is stripped of her power. Because of this, everyone weakens themselves when fighting (except Reimu). Using their full power against a weakened Sakuya wouldn't be fun. Both Remillia and Flandre wouldn't have any trouble beating Sakuya in an all out battle. Most characters in Touhou are much stronger than Sakuya.

re-watched this part a few times, didn't see cas I thought it was horizontal, it's vertical but then when I did realise this, I saw that two knifes actually zoom off and then on the next thousand blades another knife does the same thing!
