You are wrong. Ellis R Duncan did not want MGR as hero but had to yield to M.Karunanithi (kalaignar) pressure to cast MGR as hero. You can see in the film more importance to the villains SA Natatajan and MN Nambiyar. Two most popular songs in the film were given to villain SA Natarajan.
