Paradi kaney konjam" song till today I enjoy with my BOSE music system which again ultimate in sound system .Titles are unique at the time. When I read MTL closure ,I deeply sadden . Nothing permanent in this world. SRM

Of the Modern Theater it should be mentioned its story conception is always unique . There will be no hero only heroes in all the films. Who is the real hero is the question always remain looming large.
I had been to Salem few months back and was lucky to see the main gate of Modern Theatres. For a minute while I felt sad about the present condition of TRS family, I was happy to note that the people of Salem has atleast retained the main gate with the name intact.
Thanks for remembering Modern Theatre studios founded in 1935 itself and central studios coimbatore also in 1935. In the earlier days cinema studios are only in coimbatore and salem only not in madras. Later stage all were shifted to chennai. Avm studio started only in 1945 and vijaya studio in 1948.
Even today I like the movie"Vallavanukku vallavan" . Whenever I go to Salem I used visit this entrance structure. I appreciate the Lady who is taking care of the age old saga of this Modern Theatres. Yercaud is only identified now but Salem means Modern Theatres and Modern Vysya Hotel near old Bus stand.

Modern theatres should have produced films with big heroes like AVM. But they didn't. So the studio was closed in 1982.
