Olivia was a fabulous actress and her performance as "Juliet" was truly iconic. I also recall her excellent work in "Lost Horizon (1973) and "Ivanhoe" (1982). I understand she and Leonard Whiting remained friends throughout the years and it was good to see his lovely tribute here. It's heartbreaking to learn this beautiful, talented lady is gone. She will be greatly missed.

As he recounts in his autobiography he wanted another girl with beautiful long hair for the part but when she showed up for rehearsal she had cut her lovely hair for the unisex look at the time. He knew a wig would not work so he settled for second choice Olivia, and, as he realized, it turned out wonderfully. So he points out that directors like him are only instruments of God.
This was really heart breaking for me such a shock to everyone. We all miss you Olivia you left way too fast
