I thought she made a lovely Juliet in the Zeffirelli film, which I liked a lot. The art direction was great, and the casting, costumes, the locations, and the music and much more. I know it made the career of Michael York, but I never heard another word about Olivia Hussey until today, since the movie came out in the 70s. It was indeed a huge mistake for her to stop acting after the film, she threw away her best chance of an acting career. Ali McGraw did the same thing. Viewers are more likely to continue to supporting actors who grow along with then, but don’t want to see them come back after 40 years. It’s just the way it is, they look too different and often lose their acting skills, like Ali did. In every career, one has to take advantages of opportunities when they come, they don’t come along very often.
No one in the world could replace Olivia as Juliet......she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen!
