Just found out she passed away 2 days ago.. Im honestly so devastated, R.I.P Olivia Hussey, in my opinion the most beautiful girl and the true Juliet❤❤12/27/2024🕊️🌹
Olivia really was the “It Girl”-every young girl wanted to look like her and we dreamed of having a boyfriend like Romeo as played by Leonard Whiting. The fashions and hairstyles of the day were inspired by the dresses she wore in Romeo and Juliet. Her passing truly hits me hard, I’m sure there are many other women my age that feel as sad as I do. She was part of our early teen years, an icon. I enjoyed her other performances-especially as Mary in Jesus of Nazareth, but her Juliet was luminous and absolutely unforgettable.
This is one of the passings that you always remember where you were when you heard. And yes, we wanted the red velvet ball gown (though I wanted the lavender wedding gown and the pink and gold gown that 'Rosaline' wore!).
It’s so nice to hear that. She had this otherworldly sort of look in Romeo and Juliet. I remember being mesmerized by her face in high school wondering “was she oriental, was she Russian? She must be Russian…” turns out Argentina if I am not mistaken So many of the beautiful actresses from her time or even now go and get an awful amount of work done on their face & it’s like “do you really want to mar with this thing God gave you?” I personally believe there is beauty to be had in accepting that your face is maturing and there is life you have lived ❤ We only get so much time to be young in terms of how you look, so just enjoy it
I watched this movie in my 8th grade class for the first time. I thought Olivia Hussey was so beautiful i was enamoured. I had no idea about the abuse Olivia suffered.
Olivia wasn't allowed to see the premiere because it showed nudity and she was underage. Poor old Dean Martin put an F-4 Phantom into a hill in a snow storm, very sad. Rip beautiful girl, forever Juliet.
They sued over 50 years later, but had no problem with the recognition, fame and wealth that followed. I think it was a beautiful scene, nothing sexual, and historically accurate (young brides older men). As a minor where were her guardians? Olivia herself stated she chose to conceal the prospect of doing a nude scene from her mother. So over 50 years later, the feeling of being offended & violated? I love the movie and Olivia, but I say bs on the lawsuit!
They seem to have been gaslighted by the adults until they emotionally awakened to their repressed feelings about it. Other people not having a problem with the scene or even liking it doesn’t mean it was right for the underage actors.
She was 15. Js because a CHILD didn’t understand then that it was wrong and grooming certainly doesn’t take away from the fact that she had kids of her own and realised just how young she was to be exposing her privates to the screen. It’s not like she was 18 or 19 where (by the law) it’s excusable, but she was definitely a minor and a victim. It was inherently sexual because they didn’t need to take those young actors’ clothes off in front of camera and the scene could have done without. She may have gotten money/fame from it but that doesn’t mean she didn’t also get trauma. Educate yourself x
Obviously an attempt to get money.. I mean they were having an affair. Case was dismissed. I mean 55 years later you're claiming abuse. ? Too much time had gone by. Besides Brooke Sheilds has done nude scene at that age & her mother didn't object
@CherryRabbitXOX she was 16 during the filming He was 17. Perhaps they were talked into it but they should have filed suit much sooner than over 50 years later Come on. ?
They made us watch the film in our high scool theater. You notice things on the big screen that aren't so apparent on a television screen, like the male nether regions in tights. The students started laughing of course! It is an excellent film, though I did not like watching it in that setting.
Saw Romeo and Juliet in High School. Beautiful girl. Thank you!
R.I.P. Olivia Hussey.🌹
The narrator sounds young, but has done research behind her description of the actors’ history. Good Job.
I remember seeing her in Romeo and Juliet in 1976 and thought how stunning she was.

Hear hear! I was a year older than her when I saw the movie in 1968. Been a fan of hers and Romeo’s ever since. Saw it then with my first love.
She was beautiful
may she rest in peace 😞🩷 truly the best juliet, and beautiful inside and out
She was so naturally beautiful and didn’t have any cosmetic surgery and aged gracefully

I love LOST HORIZON. It’s one of Hussey’s most beautiful films.

She is superior in every way. What a beauty.

You didn't mention _Turkey Shoot,_ which is a guilty pleasure of mine (;
A shame they didn't have children. Would have been gorgeous.
