    For Mac users: Your “Delete” key is just like backspace on PC and won’t ripple delete.
    So you can just hit the Delete key.
    ‘Fn + Delete’ would be the same as “Delete” on a PC and would ripple delete as shown in this video.

      The interesting thing about Resolve is that there’s always one more more than one way to skin a cat.
      If you learn how to do things different ways, you’ll end up using those different ways depending on the workflow of the project you’re building at that moment.

    Great tip, I’m gonna add to it:
    When you want to delete just the audio part (or just the video part) from a video clip (that contains both video and audio), select just the section that you want to delete then, hit the backspace key instead of the delete key.
    That drives a lot of people crazy when trying to do this: they hit the delete key, and it deletes the other component also

    • @Daniel_Batal
      @Daniel_Batal  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmmm… you’ve missed a few vital elements there.
      Yes, backspace will delete without ripple editing.
      But what you’re proposing with Video+Audio clips needs one of two things to happen first.
      Either you must right click, unlink, then click in the field, then reselect the portion (audio or video) independently and hit backspace.
      Or, what I find easier, just select the footage with audio & video and lock the track of the portion you want to keep then hit backspace.

    Hi! I’m slowly fading out a clip to black of a man walking away from the camera, but I want the last thing we see is him for just a second before he also turns dark like everything else. So while everything in frame has reached 100% black, one spot has only reached 90% and in a second that will also be 100%. Is that possible?

    • @Daniel_Batal
      @Daniel_Batal  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally.
      I’d probably duplicate the track and mask him out in the top track so the background is gone.
      You wouldn’t notice that he’s masked because the identical footage would be stacked underneath it.
      But, that would allow you to put a separate, keyframed fade out on each track allow him to fade out more slowly than the rest of the shot

  • @cloudzero8930

    I don't think this is a beginner problem. The 'DELETE' function should be straightforward. If you want to delete an object, just hit 'delete' and that's it! If you want additional actions like the ripple feature that deletes multiple clips, that's when you should change the command key. DaVinci should keep the delete key simple for basic deletion.
