That big brother Roxanne pallet one deserves more of a watch because she the context isn’t really made clear in the video. She basically accused Ryan Thomas of abusing her, turned the whole house against him, tried to suggest he was aggressive and violent and would have ruined his entire career if it wasn’t caught on camera, the clip you watched didn’t even really show Ryan Thomas at all or much context. But she fully lied repeatedly to throw him under the bus.
She wasn’t allowed an exit interview either as people absolutely hated her, it had to be prerecorded and shown separately with no audience, the host Emma Willis really laid into her telling her how she could have ruined Ryan’s life, when the interview was over Emma just got up and left as not even the host could stomach Roxanne’s bull crap and fake tears. I don’t think Roxanne has ever worked again

Spot on mate. Vindictive lying cow. Apparently it's not the first time she's accused a man of something similar. Poor Ryan was so broken hearted in the diary room. Least hes still got a career. Stupid bint. ❤

The Jade Goody debacle was serious. They were burning effigies of Jade in India. It all centred around Jade being caught in conversation with Danielle Lloyd calling Shilpa, "Shilpa popadom or whatever her name is." and also her dyslexic mother not being able to remember Shilpa's name. Jade became a pariah. She tried to resurrect her career two years later by going on Indian Big Brother but she was soon called to the diary room and told madical test results in Britain had shown she had cervical cancer and had to return home immediately for treatment.
Jade's TV documented cancer journey turned the public around and prompted more women to get cervical smear tests than ever before surely saving lives. Soon after marrying her fiancé Jade died on Mother's Day.
Her son Freddie stars in Eastenders, one of our prime time soaps, and this autumn will be one of the contestants on Strictly Come Dancing !

I can tell you about the care home situation. Well, I can give you an example as it happened to me and my family. Our dad was sent to hospital after having a fall (he'd had a few strokes and was diabetic) the hospital, without asking us, sent him to a care home to get physiotherapy.
He caught covid and died while in the care home.. We should have pulled him out, but we were informed he could not walk very well so we thought we'd let them help.
It's the fact that, the hospital didn't tell us they were moving him, they just did it. And covid was rife in care homes for some reason, we didn't know that until it was too late.
ALOT of people lost loved ones that way, and are still fighting to be heard.

In such a huge country like the UK, a few hundred complaints about a same sex dance is not an outrage, is the media blowing things up ,deliberately I may add. The 'drag queen' show is a segment of the musical show Priscilla, and again a few hundred complaints is not listed as 'an outrage'. The real outrage is the last segment, and I suggest you find more about that, because its really important to see how things like this can cause outrage, and when the cameras were not there, a guy's reputation and life would be over.

The crazy person who accused Ryan Thomas of hitting her when he didn't was disgusting to see, in real time watching on TV we had to watch that poor man suffer as everyone in the house initially belived her, Ryan thought his life and his career was over. It highlighted how some women lie about assault and it was so lucky that the cameras were there. The British people were disgusted by her and it was good he won. But watching him suffer and cry and not be able to be told everyone knows he didn't do it was torture. Thankfully as each housemate was evicted they were shown the footage for themselves and we're shocked by how much she had lied

Quite often, these 'outrage' complaints are levelled at the BBC. We all pay for what gets broadcast on that, whether we want to, or not, through the TV licence fee, and I think that therefore carries over into other channels too. If you can be outraged at the BBC, which has strict watershed and family content rules, then people expect it from ALL channels to follow the rules, particularly when it ends up being shown before the 9pm watershed. Because that applies to all channels anyway.

The routines on Strictly Com Dancing were wholly appropriate for early evening family viewing- just some people have very fixed views. The Drag Queen number wasn't in any way 'explicit' it was just dancers in costume and makeup.....like every dance!

I have to laugh at Kim Woodburn playing the victim since she was the one who started most of the arguments whilst on Celebrity Big Brother. She was horrible to the younger women. As for Roxanne, she accused poor Ryan of hitting her when he didn't touch her. She blew it up to be something really damaging to his reputation but thankfully, the public didn't fall for it and she had a lot to answer for when she left the house.

For a little extra context, there is a grand tradition in the UK of 'writing in' and complaining about TV; there used to be a short programme on the BBC called 'Points of View', which consisted of people writing in to give their opinions about BBC TV programmes - often giving praise for good series, but most of the time they were complaints! People would write in, and instead of the presenter reading the letters (later emails), they would put the text on the screen and have actors do dramatic readings of the letters in their best angry/disgruntled voices! To give you an idea of how deeply rooted this tradition is, watch this clip from 1985 from the 2:00 minute mark, following which you will hear peoples' opinons on a new BBC programme calld "Monkey Business": th-cam.com/video/PQgPgi0n9rY/w-d-xo.html

In the dance show, the dance gay couple was so good to change their roles, and I say this is the show is a dance challenge. Yes, kids watch it's I just think some people overreact and besides Craig love dress up for special dance

It's funny what people complain to ofcom about. I remember some years ago there was a contestant called Anthony on Big Brother, a young, handsome fella, he got really wasted one night and his gay housemate, Craig, creepily hassled him for hours under the guise of taking care of him. Anthony was so drunk and vulnerable that he started to cry for his mother. It was pretty messed up but I don't recall people complaining about that.

All the shit i've seen on UK Tv over the 50 years i've never felt the need to complain , although i do see why some of these have done so . Even though here in the UK celebrities swear and nudity is permitted there is an understand it's all shown after 9pm when small kids are in their beds , so subjects about sexuality , racism & violent behaviour are generally taboo during the day .

Its a question of sensitivity joel, the care home one a fact of leaving old people in crisis, and a govt that didnt seem to care, others hatred of one another, and mostly other insensitive remarks as a whole or stances soaps and all fiction but there is a limit at 7pm what kids can watch, a lot of these went out before 9pm hence risky.

Yes you do need context but that would take hours. The Angry of Mayfair sketch by Kenny Everatte sums it up in a heart beat. Many viewers forget the off option but will complain about everything. I recommend you find the clip of Julie Clary presenting an award, his comments almost ruined him, but to the more liberal mind were funny. Search Norman Lamont, Julien Clary. Polititions never answer a question it's part of the job.

Clarkson is an intelligent guy, he knows how to play the media, he knows what will 'sell'. On The One Show, he gave a good amount of support to the strikes, even if only in jest, then added "..but this is the BBC and so we must be balanced..." before jumping into the often quoted sentences that everyone in the UK knows about. It should also be noted that although there were a total of 21k complaints in the end, the number before the media picked it up, stripped it back, and ran with it, was something like...... six.... Although granted, that may have been the total viewership at the time.

Most of the complaints are usually from Conservative or Christian groups. They are actually relatively small in number and don't represent the British public, hence the Ofcom judgements.

What you have failed to notice is that that drag queen dance took part in 1999. A time when the developed world still didn't see being gays and trans as being normal. If this was to happy today I can guarantee that there'd be at least 90% last complaints in comparison.
As for the black lives matter one. Very young people watch the show and so it really should have been shown later on in the day at the very least.
Besides, my mum has worked at many different care homes over the years and she has whitnessed several trying to fake the race card of other white staff members just to avoid getting into trouble as they know that would most likely work and that they would be able to get away with it. There was one time when that didn't work but it just goes to show that black people themselves arn't always as innocent themselves. Either way, as long as black and white people are (both) able to get along with each other that's what matters most.

I don’t actually think this video shows the “most outrageous”, rather it is a collection of most complained against. Some of those complaints probably came from people who hadn’t actually watched the show, but were encouraged by others to complain. Christian groups often complain about anything they think isn’t “family friendly”.
You’d probably be amused by a recent TV interview with a Trump supporter on one of our major daily news programmes. The interviewee was outraged when asked if a Trump indictment would lead to violence, accusing the news reporter of “propaganda”. The reporter shot back, “No I don’t do propaganda. That’s your job. I’m a news reporter and I just ask questions”.

I remember that 'Loose Women' incident with Kim. First, Loose Women is a live programme that brands itself similar to a show you have called The View but less political. Mainly due to the head of ITV being 'Woke'. Kim Woodburn appeared in the Celebrity Big Brother house and appeared to be antagonistic and rude from the moment she entered. (Her appearance on the show for me was brilliantly funny... Although some do not like her!) She appeared as a guest in the clip to confront Colleen Nolan (who appeared in it with her) and make peace. It seemed that Kim was looking for trouble although some people believe she was picked on during the interview. It led to her storming off in a massive row live on air in front of the studio audience. You would want to watch her CBB series fights (you can find a compilation of it on YT to get an idea!) Anyway, much controversy on British TV has happened since with the likes of Philip Scofild and Jeremy Clarkson. I'm also surprised the Jeremy Kyle incident wasn't included in the list too!

You are spot on. There is a demarcation line between early evening shows and shows the whole family watch together. Political statements like that shouldnt be in a family show. After 9pm anything goes.
