There’s so much more to San Angelo! Visit the art museums, the family owned Mexican restaurants, outdoor live music, the library is unbelievable and so much more! Come back and visit again!
My hometown! My great grandfather settled down there in the early 1900s and built many of the rock-wall homes and water wells in the area. During WW2, he built a small shed next to their house on S Archer St and packed all of their belonging into it, and then took everything else along with my grandfather and his siblings to Oregon to help build ships for the war effort. When they came back years later, their stuff was still all in the shed, and they unloaded it back in the house and kept on. My grandparents lived in that same home up until 2021 when they had to move in with my aunt for health reasons. My grandfather passed early August of this year. He was the last surviving charter member of Harris Avenue Baptist Church -- my great grandparents helped build it. I think about moving back there often.
Sure makes me miss my old hometown. Grew up there, way back when South Jackson turned into a dirt road. Lived most of my adult life there before moving to New York and then to Florida. Gotta get back before long...I'm an old geezer now and ain't that many bricks left in the road. :)
You folks really have a great show. I was born and raised in Texas, but I have never been able visit and learn about all these wonderful places in my own (big) backyard. Your humorous approach makes it even more enjoyable. Thanks to you and your team for your hard work.
Yes yes yes yes San Angelo is my hometown Born and raised left in 2013..and moved to the catfish Capital of Texas....West Tawakoni,TX🤘🤘🤘.this made my Day 🙏🙏🙏
Grew up in San Angelo. Went to Ft. Concho on a field trip in elementary school. Graduated from Angelo State, but I moved after college to teach elsewhere.
I’ve done a lot of oil & gas work around San Angelo, never got to experience any of this though. Might have to bring the ol lady next time and check some of this out.
I was born in Angelo and went to college there. I could have directed you to some most excellent Tex-Mex food. I have been to Fort Concho many times. Thanks for the brief visit home.
Great! I was at Goodfellow for Joint Forces Strategic Intel School in 1986. San'gelo has grown and gotten all fancy. Do one on the rattlesnake roundup...
The Best Trip to Angelo is during the holidays for Christmas at Fort Concho (first Weekend in December) and the River walk holiday lights. We also have the most spectacular Lilly Gardens. I can go on and on about Angelo, hope to see you come back
I have family from Bronte, a small community just north of there. I've spent some time out there and I love it. You either feel west Texas or you don't...I do :)
Born and raised here and only real ones know it as inSANe Angelo TX, Not even Chief Griffith & his SAPD goon squad know about the real San Angelo Underground.
Don't go thru their park on Martin Luther King. I drove thru once. Had a hooked name big red say she can get me some dope and we was gona go back to tha room and she done ripped me off. Luckily a kind fellow named crab helped me find her and let's just say I got my money back....
It’s now called troubadours after the George strait song it has painting on the wall of Dolly Parton Willy Nelson and many other country singers and it’s a bar and girl
My Dad was born in San Angelo to a sharecroppers family and fought in Korea and never went back after getting a job for Disney in 1955 .Thank You Dad for getting out of that stupid town as all my Cousins are still dirt poor. My Dad lived right next to Fort Concho and they ate food from the river so they did not starve to death My dad refused to eat fish the rest of his life Grandmother worked at Fort Concho I don`t know what she did. What bothered my Dad the most is that Black people had no rights and the people there said"well that is the way it is'.
Lived here for 17 years. Crime does happen, but I’ve never had a problem. Don’t stay out at night on the north side of town for too long. I live on the west side of town, the safest part, so there’s that.
The land wasn't inhabited , it belonged to the original inhabitants, the Native Americans. You also forgot Fort McIntosh in Laredo, Texas. I love your videos but please get the facts right. Thanks.
Wellll that's hilarious but you did in fact miss a lot of actual "local" history! Donutopia? 😢 yes I'll be the one to tell ya, I'm the only 100lb gym rat who can ear 2 donut bacon cheese burgers! Buttttt they have only been in business in the 325 for 8-10 years!? Anyways- history and locals present to this day are fat and wide! Concho pearl lasted less than 7yrs?!?!. Very big disappointment for a video uploaded less 😊than 24 hrs ago....😢

Pecan, Oak, Mesquite.ETC.
Born and raised in San Angelo. Not a bad place to live.
@@MadarasVengeance Your opinion, not everyone's opinion.
@@MadarasVengeance I agree it's not the best but I've been to much worse places. I'm definitely not a fan of Midland\Odessa.
@@MadarasVengeanceMidland/Odessa and Lubbock are far worse.

That Pearl isn’t worth a 1/10th of what he’s claiming
It's changed so much. I heard it even closed down. It was awesome but changed ownership, I believe. Which is a bummer.
Well it’s called troubadours now and has very good food just went Friday and got meatloaf
