What’s the difference between the helmet and putting red light panels on head?

The SYMBYX Neuro is a wellness device, designed specifically to target the upper neck and back of the head (posterior part of the skull). The red and infrared lights are specifically placed in those areas, because this is an area rich in neural inputs into the brain stem and an essential component in the gut-brain axis. This region-specific targeting, is what makes it different to simply applying red light panels on the head.

The helmet provides 12 minutes or red light, followed by 12 minutes of infrared light. There is no nasal feature with the device.

Will there be software upgrades in the future for your products?

The therapeutic effect of our devices is due to the hardware, and there is no software needed to run or operate them. Will treatment protocols change over time as more research becomes available? Maybe, and if they do, our customers will be updated accordingly!

Instead of a small wand, wouldnt a full body mat be a more useful solution to lie on and address the whole body?

Light therapy has a 'biphasic dose response', in other words, there's a goldilocks effect where both too much and too little dosage has diminishing and sometimes detrimental effects. Laser is important for stimulating the gut and the gut microbiome; it's never been tested with an LED. We believe in precision medicine, which is why our diodes are very specifically placed and are designed to apply a certain dose at a certain body part.

If someone can only afford one device and had Parkinson’s.. which would you buy- the helmet or the laser?

The PDCare is one of our hand-held infrared laser devices. They are considered the primary therapy for the reduction of Parkinson’s symptoms. There is peer-reviewed evidence to show a potential reduction in both motor and non-motor symptoms from consistent usage. The PDCare is also a registered medical device (CE-marked and ARTG-listed). The SYMBYX Neuro red/infrared helmet should be considered as a complementary wellness device, recommended for increasing PDCare (DuoCare 904) effectiveness and overall cognitive health.

Is there any relationship helmet and on-off symptoms.

Hi there! Thank you for your question. On-off symptoms were not one of the outcomes assessed in our clinical trials, so we cannot say definitively whether there is a relationship. However, we have had customers say that their off-periods have been reduced, though this evidence remains anecdotal. If we have further research on this, we will definitely prioritise letting the public know.

Has anyone that has had either DBI surgery or focused ultrasound for Parkinson's been tested with the helmet?

There is a lack of research for this, which is why our helmet is contraindicated to being used after these treatments unless done so under medical supervision. Our handheld lasers can be used fine, and we have many customers with DBS who do use them and get good results. For people with DBS we recommend PDCare or DuoCare.
