Nah, with the amount of time that dio has had johnathans body the ship of thesius logic applies. After about 7 years all of the cells in your body that you had 7 years ago have been replaced, the only exception being brain cells. There isn't a single original johnathan cell left

I would really like a manga/OVA type of adaptation of this story since I think it could make for a more interesting story once it's more character focused (Josuke's relationship with the Josephs, Jolyne getting to bond more with young Jotaro, Giorno realizing he's also a Joestar through Jonathan, how Joseph and Jonathan react to each other and not having Stands or developing them, etc...) than it being tailored for a video game. Also I get part 3 Jotaro being the main hero, especially when it comes to a story within a video game, but IMO it would be more interesting if it was a JoJo joint effort that defeats DIO.
I have a theory Jotaro's ability is the ability to evolve. When he can't win a fight his stand evolves to allow him to win. That's what made star finger and time stop a thing. His stand evolves and gains a new ability to match the power of an enemy. He says "It's because we have a similar stand" because he doesn't know. After a period of time the new ability weakens explaining how time stop was worse in diamond is unbreakable. He then found a need for it again so he evolved to have it last longer before it went away. He had no need for star finger anymore so he never did it after or could do it again. This is why star platinum is so op.
thats technically how stands work Stands do in fact evolve (Koichi- Echoes act 1-3, Kira - Bites the Dust) with their user you could also technically count requiem but i dont really think it counts

Nah, with the amount of time that dio has had johnathans body the ship of thesius logic applies. After about 7 years all of the cells in your body that you had 7 years ago have been replaced, the only exception being brain cells. There isn't a single original johnathan cell left

I would really like a manga/OVA type of adaptation of this story since I think it could make for a more interesting story once it's more character focused (Josuke's relationship with the Josephs, Jolyne getting to bond more with young Jotaro, Giorno realizing he's also a Joestar through Jonathan, how Joseph and Jonathan react to each other and not having Stands or developing them, etc...) than it being tailored for a video game. Also I get part 3 Jotaro being the main hero, especially when it comes to a story within a video game, but IMO it would be more interesting if it was a JoJo joint effort that defeats DIO.

I have a theory Jotaro's ability is the ability to evolve. When he can't win a fight his stand evolves to allow him to win. That's what made star finger and time stop a thing. His stand evolves and gains a new ability to match the power of an enemy. He says "It's because we have a similar stand" because he doesn't know. After a period of time the new ability weakens explaining how time stop was worse in diamond is unbreakable. He then found a need for it again so he evolved to have it last longer before it went away. He had no need for star finger anymore so he never did it after or could do it again. This is why star platinum is so op.
