Today I get to drive a car with a fantastic history - a genuine ex-Royal Fleet L322 Range Rover, as used by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. But what makes it different to any other Range Rover, and would you pay more for it?

I see you wearing your best shirt for the occasion, jolly good ol' boy. 😊
Jeremy Clarkson Harry Metcalfe Did A Brilliant Video On TH-cam 😈
The L322 are very much the Range Rover du jour with Metcalfe and Clarkson constantly plugging them. The late Queen’s versions also nearly always had dual rear window controls on each rear door so she could open both rear windows for the dogs. Plus the seat belt ‘bong’ coded out to drive round Balmoral and Sandringham belt-free.
Clarkson and Metcalfe did a good job of pointing out just how practical these cars are. If you're willing to replace injectors that cost more than the car then it must be doing something right.
The seatbelt warning chime can be forever silenced by plugging and unplugging the drivers seatbelt ten times simultaneously with the ignition on.
@@AlexLR indeed, but the royal family’s Range Rovers have that coded out before delivery.
I wonder if the Queen had battery drain problems, because as Clarkson pointed out in that video, this later version with the digital panel fires up the ECU every time you open the door, which one does a lot around a farm.
@@AlexLRNot on these with the digital dash it can't, you need to use a computer to code it out in the CCF.
Fun fact: Her Maj was a trained mechanic. She got her hands dirty during WWII with the Auxiliary Territorial Service.
Heavily into custom ECU chipping too. Wrote her own code and mapped it herself. On days off obviously.

I can only imagine the strict maintenance this Range probably has had since it leaving the factory, I bet its probably the best running L322 out there right now lol.
They have got big buttons for a reason it’s not “my first car” they were designed to be driven whilst wearing driving gloves it’s actually quite innovative actually
I agree. Compared to the fiddly small buttons or touch screens of today, I also prefer the chunkier buttons you can actuate without even looking.
LOL, who wears driving gloves when driving something as cumbersome, slow, and wallowy as a diesel SUV? You'd have to have your head so far up your own arse...
FARMERS@@Beer_Dad1975
@@Beer_Dad1975 you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, the L322 Range Rover is certainly not slow in any of its engine variants and as for cumbersome I have no idea what you are implying they handle well compared to the P38 and are generally a nice place to be
Lovely semi nostalgic trip down memory lane ref the best queen we have had since well, Queen Elizabeth 1st 😁
I actually had that very car for four months in 2012. I had a sponsorship with LR and I had this car straight after it came back from the Queen. The only previous destination in the SatNav was Balmoral!
Very Interesting!!!
Had my 2005 l322 supercharged for 10 years and still enjoy driving it. Been pretty reliable. Other than servicing only had to replace suspension compressor and light check module. Was going to replace it a couple of years ago when rust started appearing round the rear arches. Bit the bullet and treated the car to a £3000 professional bodyshop repair. Still looks like new and saved £30,000 replacing it with a l405. Spent the £30,000 on a DB9 volante.

@@colinthebeard i stand corrected. i just checked, i retract my prior comment
I owned an ex-Royal Household 4.4 tdv8 for about 3 years. Great truck. My lasting memory was the response I received whenever I took it in for a service - no one could believe the condition. Sorely missed.
L322 is class. Such a lovely car to drive.
Got my 2011 4.4 tdv8 back in april, ive covered 11k miles in it since (now on 123k miles) - apart from an annoying dpf issue its been completely trouble free. Easily the best car ive ever had and always a joy to drive, even on our potholed country roads. Its also a distinct improvement in every area (apart from looks) on the 3.6 tdv8 i had a couple of years ago. Feels like a much better quality product, more refined and the adaptive dampers and gearbox really do make a difference. Averages 30-35mpg. These are gems
That DPF issue is almost certainly a boost pipe leak. Itll be tiny, but it'll be there :)
I own five of these, one of them just like the Queen's. When you can keep their electronics sorted out, I am repeatedly surprised at how well they can negotiate thin rural trails across uneven pastures, and then return you back home at the proverbial 'ton' on the highway:) With all their faults, when operating as intended, they turn out to be surprisingly comfortable and capable bits of kit. However, like the Queen did, I much regret the lend of the manual versions. (You know she drove, I believe, stick shift heavy ambulances during the War, what a magnificent monarch she was:)
Love these and loved the video! All The switch gear in L322 was designed to be used whilst wearing gloves - hence its chunkiness. Her Maj was regularly pictured driving her Tonga green 3.6 TDV8. There’s an amazing vid of her being interviewed in the late 80s/early 90s driving and double declutching a Land Rover 110 V8 whilst being interviewed
It makes sense. The Queen was seldom seen without her trademark gloves and many said she loved to drive Range Rovers. I think it's clever to make everything extra large so they can be manipulated with gloves, especially in the winter. And yes, I've been to London in December and it was f-f-freezing cold! Heck, I caught the flu and had to rush back home for a week of recuperation!
The colour isn't Tonga it's Epson Green.
The armoured ones have to be destroyed, not sold, as some people might be interested in deconstructing the protection measures…
What’s the source for that? BMW resells their armoured cars. Bullet proof car construction is neither special nor particularly advanced, it’s little more than thick steel bullet proof doors and reinforced panels, floors and roof + ballistic glass. They often have bullet proof tyres too. That’s basically it.
Possible that the government contracts are different , Queens armoured cars can have special features and mods . Knowing in which ways a royal car is armoured could be an aid to assassination attempt.
@@janpamua7714 nailed it! Government cars are NOT the same as standard B6, off the shelf protected vehicles (whatever some people might think). And that is exactly why they’re not sold to anyone, who could take them apart and unveil their secrets…
I also have a dark green (beige interior) car first owned by royalty - His Highness The Aga Khan. The car is a RHD 2002 Audi A8L finished in Aga Khan Green. As well as having many exclusive touches, what sets the car apart from other D2 long-wheelbases is the fact that it's got a factory-fitted S8 engine installed. Possibly the only S8 engine installed into a LWB D2 by Audi themselves. The car cost over £90k in 2002 and the engine swap at birth cost over £12k alone.
I own a 1970's executive bus that was used as a tour bus by Dolly Parton and Fleetwood Mac. It also appeared in the opening credits to the BBC "Seaside Special" entertainment programme in 1976.
Unfortunately, this one wouldn't have been driven by the queen, but it's likely she may have been a passenger. It was quite well remarked at the time her dislike for Range Rover's without a proper gear lever - and she held onto her 3.6 TDV8 as a result.
Tbf there's a lot photos of the queen driving l322 range rovers mainly one with a plate ck58 npj. But who knows if she drove this one maybe she did maybe not
I do believe that the L322 are all auto, no manual was offered
@@dannypoyntz2779Correct, but the 6-speed box in the 3.6 had a "gearstick" whereas the 8-speed in the later 4.4 had a dial.
The queen drove stick absolute boss 💪
@@Afraz_9n3I've seen her driving the 58 plate for all we know it never had the correct plate on it
L322 and L405 Range Rover with the 4.4-litre TDV8 engine are among my favourite engine for Range Rover. Perfect combo of more than decent performance, comfort and flexibility. Maybe only 5-litre supercharged AJ-V8 that can compete with it. Sad to see the TDV8 engine killed on the facelifted L405 Range Rovers...
The 3.0 ingenium TT I6 that replaced it is silky smooth like the 4.4 and feels plenty powerful, just unsure of the long term reliability

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that car and it’s L404 successor doing the regular run between Taplow Railway Station and Windsor Castle. Not widely known, Taplow was the stop used by the queen when she travelled by the royal train. Being presumably unable to get onto the Windsor and Eton line (or couldn’t be bothered), the Queen often alighted at Taplow then got the Range Rover to take her back to Windsor; no police escort, just the queen sat behind the driver and the car doing the short distance on its own.
I'm on my second L322 but now a 480S petrol overfinch version and even after owning a L405 I couldn't be happier with my 2002 model... perfect size and then timeless design
Not going to lie, owning a Range Rover owned by The Queen would be pretty cool. I had one of these generation years ago and I loved it, still one of the best cars ever. With regards to the S600, yes, my neighbor was a Top 10 NBA player years ago and he had an S600 and OMG did it have criminal depreciation 😂
'Not going to lie'? What an utterly bizarre thing to say.
its a very common phrase@@markfox1545
Years ago a mate of mine had a mk3 Fiesta which we briefly thought had been previously owned by Ian Huntley. But it was one digit out on the number plate, probably for the best.
Still the best Range Rover in my opinion, it just looks perfect, incredibly practical and comfortable along with fantastic off road ability.
It’s quite likely she drove it! From what I’ve heard she preferred to drive the L322s herself, newer models she’d be chauffeured in.
There’s loads of pictures of her Behind the wheel of L322’s so I concur
Man if he bought this before she died, without the provenance... he's gonna do well when it goes to auction. Especially if he could prove she sat in the driver's seat.

This is fabulous. The Queen was the best brand ambassador ever for Land Rover. This would be a perfect car to own (I have owned a 2008 Range Rover Sport 3.6 TDV8 for the past 7 years). Tempted to have a look at the auction now :-) ...
My current daily was part of a fleet of three Mercedes S'class which were 'given' to the German Ambassador of Japan - - imported two years ago it has some very 'unusual' features - most removed - but the magnetic flag holder was in the boot and yes there are times when I get that out - daughters Wedding etc
Brilliant !
The L322 is peak RR. The next one had the tapered rear and this one is still boxy, looks like the classic but has airbags etc
Peak Rolls Royce? Hehehe
@@nizm0man in my life, sadly , nope 👎 just Range Rover
I see Range Rover, I click
3:38 I would prefer the 4.2 SC over the TDV8. Not the timing issues of the 5.0, no turbos, no EGR and before 2007 also no electronic parking brake.
Parking brake and terrain response gubbins

Talking of famous previous owners, I used to have a car once previously owned by Bonnie Tyler. It was OK most of the time, but every now and then it fell apart.
I have OV10 XUE noted as one previous keeper, RHH vehicle provision scheme with service history 50 clicks away from Balmoral. Been my daily drive for a decade.
I've had my L322 now for a year and without doubt it's the best yet. It's a 2011 TDV8 4.4 Vogue SE in Galway Green with sand beige leather interior. I know I'm tempting fate but so far it's been trouble free. It's my 9th Range Rover and with its luxury fittings, deployable side steps, heated and cooled seats comfort,, ultimate driving position, performance and 35/40 mpg it has to be unbeatable. At last a car like Jeremy Clarkson , and Harry Metcalfe that I will never sell.
They really are amazing. Love mine
I used to own a 2009 L322 that wore the plate L5 and supposedly belonged to Liverpool football club. Brought it to Ireland and daily’d it for 6 years . Best car I ever owned
Obviously a car fit for a queen.
Passed from one queen to the next.
I owned World Cup legend Geoff Hurst's Lexus LS460. I didn't know that when I bought it, but a HPI report showed it was previously on a private plate 66 GH.
The 4.4 tdv8 with the 8 speed in an L322 is sublime. Owned mine 5 years now 😊
I ordered a new Land Rover 110. They said it would take 6 months to deliver. After a year they said sorry another 6 months. So I needed a car to run about in so I bought a Range Rover L322 and if you’re going to do that and only want it for 6 months you may as well have the full fat version. 5ltr V8 supercharged Autobiography. I loved it so much. You put your foot down and it is as if the hand of God comes down and shoves you up the road with 500 bhp and in perfect silence and wonderful opulence. Even the headlining is beautiful stitched leather.
I finally received my 110 and it wasn’t even close to the perfection of the L322 so after putting a few hundred miles on it I flogged and I’m keeping the Range Rover!
I recently bought one of the first XK8 convertibles off the line and I've been told it was owned by Chris Patten when he was Governor of Hong Kong. then bought an L322, didn't think I'd ever love anything more than the Jag but the L322 is just in a different class
I had a the 3.6tdv8 and they easily sit on speeds well over 100km/h for extended periods of time in between towns in outback Queensland. Whilst parts are ridiculously priced comparative to others, I found them to be quite reliable with not much going wrong. Great off road too
I picked mine up in an auction, didn’t start off well when a swimming pool flooded out when I opened the door, then another 10k later after 2 years, it’s brilliant!
I can't stress enough how much I'd love to hoon the queen's rover round some backroads
If its fitted with satnav could you look at the trip history to see where it's been ? Very nice car and wearing it's miles well too 👍 Would they be able to get a Heritage Certificate produced for the car to see who it was originally registered too and any special equipment requested ? ❤
I’m guessing you’d require a picture of the Queen in or exiting the car to increase the value significantly. Otherwise it’s just one of the fleet some royals “probably” used.
Loved the theme of the video. I own a Jaguar XJ12 that was used by Princess Diane and Princess Charles when they visited Brazil. Bought directly from the British Embassy with all gismos like flags, security radio and tv recording of the occasion. Very happy with the history of the car but specially with the car itself, the V12 is great and it has a lovely smell of old leather. The car history is a great ice breaker and has this “royal” feeling.
My father is a mechanical engineer and has therefore restored or repaired several Celebreris cars. like a Formular 1 car from michael schuhmacher or the Bergmann Ferrari, a car from Ferrari for the actress Ingrid Bergmann
Charming insights, thanks for sharing, I always liked that model, love Range Rovers but can't afford the reliability issues. I'm of an age that a lazy V8, auto, with bags of comfort would be a boon though. By and large I try to avoid special or rare cars that one is an out and out custodian of, takes the fun out of it (I've had one or two).I'm not sure that there are that many royalists these days though (maybe a museum will snap it up🤔🤔).
I did once start to enquire about a Range Rover "classic", but it had a day bed arrangement in the back. Strange modification I thought to myself - all several years before the balloon went up - I made further enquiries, and found out the car had belonged to a certain Jimmy SaEvil (he was pretty pally with the royals too) I never liked the bloke, he had a vibe about him, so chose not to pursue the car further (even with offers of a refurbished back seat etc), as the vibe felt off. Then the balloon went up and my hunch was right about the car! Yuk, I dread to think!
We visited Sandringham in December 2008. A dark green Land Rover approached from a side road on our left and indicated right. this car gave way to us. I looked at the driver who was lone female and wearing a head scarf, I said, oh look , she looks like the Queen" as we got closer, it was OMG , it is the Queen. She was driving around on her own 😁😁
Man, if I was in LR Marketing, I'd have done an HRH spec that precisely mimicked this (sans the extra grab handles) with no options available. This spec is pure class.
Sold for moderate premium over ordinary car. £21,622. Would have green L322 any day of the week.
I have a 2011 l322 Autobiography which was a JLR lease car (confirmed) The first keeper of the car was believed to have been Jackie Stewart as when the car was sold by JLR it was still showing Jackie Stewart’s private number 1 JYS, Jackie’s agent didn’t confirm it, he was generally unhelpful and rude but did confirm Jackie at that time drove JLR lease cars
Great colour.
I did note that the number plate is missing the GB logo, that is shown with the queens image of the LR RR.
Many years ago we were looking to buy a defender from an independent used LR garage in Huddersfield and they had a long wheelbase (stretched Limo) Range Rover Classic that had been used at the UK embassy in Berlin. It came with an amazing passenger log book that included Princess Diana. It wasn't hugely expensive given it had been maintained to an amazing standard. I cannot count the number of times I regret not buying it, though it would have been completely impractical and I would have needed a new huge garage to put it in. I often wonder who has it now....
I've had the privilege of driving the queens RR whilst working at JLR. A great day indeed!
The pre-owned-by-a-celebrity S Class is at the top of any moderately successful drug dealer's shopping list.
I'm no dealer, but I once owned a rare S-Class (early ’70s Crayford Estate W116 280 SE) that had previously been owned by Rolf Harris.
@@21stcenturyozman20 ooooh... dunno if I'd be advertising on that provenance... I mean, it's fun to think about all the umm, tales the back seat of a famous recording artist's former car may have to tell. But I don't think anyone wants to think about the tales Rolf Harris' former back seat has to tell.
Except maybe the police.
@@C.Fecteau-AU-MJ13 I owned before Harris’s reputation went down the toilet - and sold it three weeks before that happened too.
When I advertised it for sale (on worldwide MB forums), most interest was from the US, but the car was RHD, the only factor that put the Yanks off buying it.
Even if that had been *after* Rolf’s fall from grace, it wouldn’t have made a difference to the Americans, as they seem incapable of discerning fame from infamy - or are unwilling to.
It eventually went home to England for restoration - but I kept the Wobble Board and the Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport album sleeve.
@@21stcenturyozman20 lol that's about as impeccable timing gets. As an Australian, I'm just glad nobody here picked it up. You can keep everything Rolf Harris related... and for the record, tying a kangaroo down is a crime under the animal cruelty act. We made a specific provision for it

Some folk find such matters distasteful, and they may well be so, but I refuse to damn someone’s artistic output on the basis of their personal behaviour. If we were to apply that to all creatives, we’d be burning artworks and albums from now till eternity. And the list would include some of the world’s great composers, artists, performers … 🙄
Some years ago, I drove, and subsequently bought, a 1955 Humber Super Snipe. Prior to the gentleman I bought it from, it had had one previous owner; who bought it new to compete in the Monte Carlo Rally as a private entry. (Something one could do back then). After performing quite well, it was used by it owner daily from his home in Mayfair, London. I had been privileged to meet the original owner many times at shows and club meets. I think that was a lucky find, and it was certainly a lovely car. From the Monte Carlo to Mayfair _ quite a life.
The owner in question? A gentleman by the name of
Sir Stirling Moss.
If you could spec a l322 from new, it would be that colour, that interior. Perfect
Perfect spec L322 (if the side steps were removed). Mine has at least got the right interior and clear glass, but I have Galway Green envy.
Prince Andrew paid £12m for his escort!
Jaguar digital dashes are good because you can have different displays and the later RRS
I had a 2007 4.2 supercharged Vogue for 11 years. Best car I have had. Never let me down. replaced the air springs but otherwise no problems other than normal wear and tear.
Far more interesting would be her Landrover 110, a V8 manual with some very specific options. The Queen drove herself in it a lot, the last time I saw it close up it was probably the best 1983 car I had seen for a very long time.
Would one of those options be the rear wiper, inside the windscreen? Apparently this was done to clear the screen of condensation from corgis being transported. Quite likely the only car in the world so equipped!
The L322 Range Rover is possibly my favourite SUV of all time! Although I will say I much prefer the series 1 and series 2 cars, they just look better imo.
Also, a suggestion, if you don't mind: please could you include more static shots or footage just showing the exterior of the car and the whole car? I love the videos as they are and I wouldn't change anything but it would be reeeaallly more nice if I could also just be able to look at the whole car in its entirety (for more than the current 20 or so seconds of cumulative footage/photos).
I've owned 4 L322's, 3 new in-period and just picked up a 5.0 S/C because I love them and they are definitely taking off in no small part due to love from Clarkson and Metcalfe.
Just watching you drive it and being virtually in it with you is a treat. ❤
Really good review. Pleasure to watch. I agree, in this instance, the prior ownership makes it very interesting. Also interesting to reflect on the changes of ownership the company was going through at that time. I think the company almost had a clearer vision of what they wanted the Range Rover to do - the big buttons were to aid functionality. It would be interesting to do a video where you track the changes through the generations.
Based on your shirt, I guessed, that you were reviewing Elton John's Range Rover 🎉
This car is obviously going to be sold to a minicab firm - "You'll never guess who's been in the back of this...."
I remember seeing the Queen on a cruise outside Maccy Ds on a Friday night in this Range Rover, she helped me change the wheel on my Ford Fiesta 1.1, unfortunately she didn’t say long as Andrew was constantly calling her asking “when’s mummy back?”
Great video as always. I wonder if its bereft of usual VIP accessories such as armour plated bodywork and windows etc which would have added significant weight, and made it a bit more challenging for a older slightly built person to drive?
By the mid 2000s armour plating tech was probably already good enough for this not to be an issue with a big engine diesel SUV like this. Also with recent-ish safety features like crumple zones and specialised bodywork I’d reckon the regular doors would already be plenty heavy even without the steel plate and aramid fitted ballistic glass.
@@topleybird2443 so what is the reason the beast still have a weight of eight to 10 tons.
are you saying they are using old crap, that can be penetrated 10 times more easy then modern armor ?
@@Hansen710Because The Beast (I’m assuming you’re referring to the yank presidential limo) has protection requirements that far outstrip most regular armouring guidelines. For one, it’s hermetically sealed from the outside with an air pump system and aircraft-level pressurised doors (which are more like bulkheads), which no other armoured car in the world has.
Range Rovers without privacy glass look so much classier!!!
Very nice. Should have a small corgi plush with her majesty's insignia on it, strategically placed within.
Yes, it may have been owned by the Royal Household but, did the late HM The Queen actually drive it? It say probably not. Yes, she may have been chauffeured in it but that’s about it. Her own personal Range Rover, the one she actually drove herself, was a 58 plate slightly earlier model. The reg of that one was CK58 NPJ. There are many photos around of her actually driving it around Balmoral and Sandringham.
Very nice.Your intelligent and mature take is always appreciated!
Maybe it's different for JLR products now but when I worked for Landrover all Royal family cars had 2 identical cars and for 6 months of the year 1 was used the other 6 months the identical was used only difference registration plate so 1 car was always at Landrover the other with the queen. I certainly would have thought all servicing would be done by Landrover at the factory so presumably things may have changed and it was maintained by nearest Landrover. Facility as this car would have come directly from Landrover not through a dealer. I'm sure there is pictures of Prince Phillip driving a green L322 as he only gave up driving when he had the accident maybe 2 years before he passed away . So possibly driven this car. Unless grill at front has been changed but it will have had the small flashing blue lights attached behind the grill to show it's security etc royal family. Regarding Princess Diana's RS Turbo it was taken back after she had it a few years and was given a new reg plate and.it was not only the only black S1 RS Turbo it had the front grill of an Orion 1.6.i Ghia the security blue lights.fitted better to the Orion grill.

I bought the King’s equivalent car and sold it on (from when he was Prince of Wales). I had to re-register for a new plate and before buying it I was nearly put off by the amount of beige.
A Police protection services vehicle was also up for sale. It was an Audi with all types of special features, but I passed on the opportunity.
We have an ex Royal Fleet Discovery 5. Drives very well with every option ticked and practical 19” wheels.
Royal or not, that L322 is gorgeous. What a perfect car.
Awesome drive! Congratulations!
My second car was a Saab 900 SE..previous owner was the fabulous Victoria Wood😃
Would never have guessed royalty would be happy with a diesel compared with a petrol variant. Noisier, less smooth, less acceleration, what’s the bonus?
I can tell you've never driven a Tdv8 powered Range Rover!! They're absolutely awesome
I believe the reason for the chunky buttons was to be able to operate them with gloves on
The ex royal range rovers usually have extra buttons /gadgets in the glove box and inside the rear armrests
Ejector seats for suddenly undesirable passengers perhaps? (No names, no pack drill, ahem...)
It was also in Belfast. I put a full fuel system in that car about 2 years ago. Recognised that reg straight away.
I nearly bought George Best's E-type from Eagle in 2003. Series 2 coupe, green on green, but not BRG, instead a kind of sick-grass-metallic green.
‘What’s so special about it?’
It breaks down gracefully
I am on my 3rd Range Rover, two L322 and one L405. In 18 years and several hundred thousand miles of ownership I have never had a breakdown.

Damn. If I had seen this four weeks ago, I'd have had a punt. £21k for the Queen's car? I'm in !!
Nice story James. My first car was a British racing green MGA which I sold in order to buy an MGBGT which was owned by the Duke of Westminster. It was painted in Ford blue mink matching the Rolls Royce I am told. Interestingly the chap I sold the MGA to was the Bishop of Chester’s son who was a leftenant in the Royal Navy and he knew of the MGBGT which was apparently driven by Sally Grosvenor. I’ve tried searching for the MG but can’t locate it except that some heathen had repainted it black🙁 Well that’s my “Celebrity”? Story thanks again James.
I almost bought a Red Volvo 240 estate back in the 80's That I was told the previous owned was Melvyn Bragg. Not quite an ex car of the Queen.
Love it James. Agree what brilliant value that is. and god bless her majesty’s soul
If you watch Harry's Garage video with Jeremy Clarkson, towards the end of that video they show a picture of the Queen driving a L322 Range Rover, unfortunately the number plate is blurred, so I'm not sure it's this car, but if you can find the source of that photo to see it unblurred you may have photographic evidence of the Queen driving this car , interestingly both Jeremy and Harry think the Queen had the wrong green, their cars are the same colour, slightly lighter shade to this and they prefer it, I do like the wheels Harry's car has , I think suits the car better
Queen mostly seen driving the prefacelift.
@AndyK.1 the photo shown on Harry's video is definitely a face-lift model, it has the chintzy grille
Just looked it up for you and you don't need the original photo because it appears that's a different Range Rover, a Mk 2 (slightly different headlights and grille, fog lights on the bumper, etc.), where as this one Jayemm is driving is a later Mk 3 car (fog lights inside the air intake housing). So unfortunately it's unlikely the Queen drove this car, but it is likely she sat in the back.
@LongtailGT thanks for that, this car is different
Queens never drove this one
Great show!
1 noticeable item. The one in the picture doesn't have roof rails.. The one you drive has. :)
That side steps only twice the price to the normal step lol!
I know nothing, but cant imagine the Queen using that thin step in high heals or wellies. Or bulky secret service personnel especially in a situation where they'd have to ride on it.
That said the normal steps on my Disco can take a beating, yet this morning I saw a Range Rovers that had cracked and bent downwards.
You missed the very unusual roof rails, combined with the side steps you previously mentioned; which were there for a reason. This car was usually a supporting vehicle in,ess on the estates duty. Deployed behind the main vehicle normally.
you're so good jay, fantastic presentation.
My first Jaguar, GVE 625E was a 1967 3.4 litre 'S' Type and was first owned by Peter Noone of Hermans Hermits fame. It was painted in a BMW sourced metallic green, the original colour being pale green with a pale green leather interior. I bought it for 800 quid and it was in dreadful condition. I later took it to London, one fine Sunday afternoon and got stuck behind a long trail of protesting miners marching across Westminster Bridge. It chose to break down and the miners very quickly stopped walking past it as the smell of petrol was overpowering! Then a minr came up to the window and said "Mate, petrol is pouring out of your engine! Give me minute and i will get some tools and have a look!" Long story short, He and a couple of other mechancally minded miners, fixed the leak and sent me on my grateful way. I alas, sold it shortly after for $80! Sigh.
