The actor playing Scrooge was super endearing though. That's the only good part though.
Oh and the whole twins reveal at the end... weird, awkward, not needed.
Naafidy - I completely agree with this assessment. The actors that actually seemed to know what they were doing were the gentleman playing Scrooge and the one playing Jacob Marley. The waitress was pretty good, as well. Her dialogue was choppy but at times she was able to put her on flavor in it. i.e. At times her lines were delivered with genuine feeling rather than someone regurgitating their memorized lines at their cue.
The actors playing Bell and Ben, well, their acting was very weak. I didn't feel that either of them were able to convey their characters appropriately. And the little twist about being brother and sister rather than an unkindled romance was just too ridiculous. A genuinely terrible solution. When "they" kept saying "they" needed to reveal something about Bell I seriously thought they were going to either say she had cancer or she was pregnant with Ben's love child. Which would have had to been an immaculate conception.
It wasn't complete crap; but very nearly so. If they had taken more time to develop the script and dialogue between characters it may have been more enjoyable.
Things that should not have been "forced": References to God and Christianity are completely out of place and awkward. Like they were an afterthought.
Further, it was COMPLETELY unnecessary and quite disgusting to have the shopping carts with the nasty clothing placed in the background of the restaurant as "incontrovertible proof" that the "Bridge Club" were a group of homeless people. Why not have a neon sign with an arrow flashing above the Bridge Club that says "Homeless! Homeless! Homeless!" ANYONE working with truly homeless people would not allow them to bring that shopping cart into an eating establishment. The clothing would have stunk badly and would have been filled with vermin such and lice and bedbugs. The stench alone would have been unbearable. It's not like homeless people routinely take their shopping carts of rubbish and clothes they've gotten from charity or from the trash and visited a laundry-mat.
So many problems, so little time. Bottom-line, it could have been wittier, funnier and still managed to squeeze in a Christian sentiment or two. ~ by ToniHunterOne.

Kevin, if you like time travel style movies, you should watch and review Time Changer. It's about a bible professor who travels from 1890 into "modern day" 2002. It was a standout Christian film from my childhood with both drama and comedy. It's even more goofy today, but it's still fun to watch

The Muppet Christmas Carol is my favorite Christmas movie. Except the BEST PART (the song When Love is Gone) was CUT OUT by stupid KATZENBERG! Curse that man. His stupid Dreamworks movies are a stain on my childhood.
Come on Disney. PUT THE SONG BACK IN THE MOVIE. It's the heart of the whole thing. I mean, the tune is in the Overture and a version of it was in the credits. The ending song was even a reprise of it!
Anyway. Yes, that movie is the best. 👍
The Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my favorite Christmas movies too, in fact I've been listening to the soundtrack to get ready for Christmas. My family is lucky enough to have the VHS that still has When Love is Gone, so I didn't even know they took it out until a year or two ago when we rewatched it and I was looking up trivia about the movie. That scene is one of my favorite parts of the movie and it always makes me cry. I can't believe they cut it out and haven't put it back in after all these years.
@@imrastar7055 I know, right?! I always tear up when Scrooge starts singing with her. 😢 The first time I watched the movie was on VHS and it had that song. I watched it on Netflix a few years later and when the song didn't play I was confused. I thought for a moment I must have blacked out or something and missed it but then I looked it up and found out it was cut! It's a travesty, really, and Brian Henson hated the choice to cut it. They put it back in for the VHS, so it stumps me why they wouldn't put it back in for DVD and Blu-ray as well. The whole movie really suffers without that song, since it's the moment you connect with Scrooge and realize he's just a sad man who had his heart broken when he was young, and that he really did love Belle.

I watched that great depression time travel movie... if I remember correctly she either replaces or becomes friends of her grandmother or something like that. It was pretty good, from what I remember. You know, for a feature film movie.
All I can think of is the kid returning to her normal time as a Millennial. Depression Era 2.0

Kevin should do a review of Time Changer sometime. It's about a man from the 1890s who travels to our time. He is amazed by our technology, but appalled by our lack of basic morality. A fish out of water time traveling comedy drama film and it's got the Captain of the Love Boat in it

Both from laughing at you and from cringing at the film. wHAT THE EVER LOVING HECK DID I JUST WATCH? 😂 My drama teacher is the ‘always look for the good while being willing to address the bad’ type of person with stage and film productions. Sometimes I want to gather some of these terrible movies that you’ve reviewed and watch them with her, just to see if she reacts the same way I did (cringing and practically shouting at the atrocity of it all 😂) or if she actually spots some sort of good amongst the bad. I’m thinking I may have to do that with this film.

I somewhat like the idea of Scrooge traveling to the modern day era, I just think it was implemented poorly. I did like the actor who played Scrooge.

I've seen this basic premise ("Scrooge as a real person, who meets people from the modern era, via time-travel") written much better, in the Real Ghostbusters episode "Xmas Marks The Spot".
And that was a children's cartoon show!

This movie was oddly decent for a Christian film. It's incredibly low budget, and some of the writing decisions were a bit too much. But I unironically liked it. The music was pretty decent as well.
