    One important piece of info I wish you could include in your battery reviews would be to show/reveal the final stage of the initial charge. What was the final voltage? Do the cells seem balanced or out of whack? My new Aolithium has be on a 100ma for three days waiting for three cells to catch up to the runaway cell as the BMS attempts to balance. PITA.

    I'm always curious to see a side by side comparison between the battery sent to the TH-cam reviewer, and one purchased by some random dude named Josh in Nebraska.
    Like, if I'm going to have some hot chick come over to my house, I'm definitely cleaning the place up a bit. I'm scrubbing that toilet, and making sure I don't have any dirty dishes in the sink. I might even do a few push ups before she gets there.

    Nice review. Using google translate app, the BMS says "Huayan Jingchuang lithium battery protection board, model:HY7100-100A-4G-18" and " Charge 3.65v". I don't think the rest translated correctly.

    • @LithiumSolar

      They have two versions of the 100Ah, one of them does not have low-temp protection. I assume you purchased the one with it, but FYI just in case :)

  • @DSmartLife

    Those are Gotion 105Ah cells. It has thin Aluminum casing and bulging is a common issue in these cells, needs proper compression before charging. And the cycle life is limited I think, may be 1500-2000. Cheaper cells compared to others.

    • @LithiumSolar
      @LithiumSolar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I spent a lot of time looking in to this before - one of the cheaper batteries I reviewed in the past had Gotion cells as well. I think you might have actually been the person whom tipped me off to that fact, can't remember. Either way... I had a datasheet that rates them at 1500 cycles to 70% health then I obtained another datasheet that has them rated at 3500 cycles to 80% health. Information on them is so scarce, and is typically in Chinese, that it's difficult to know exactly what the deal is.

    • @DSmartLife
      @DSmartLife 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LithiumSolar Yeah its really difficult to get the true info, some vendors modify the official spec sheet or make their own translation of the Chinese document. Anyways those are cheaper cells compared to EVE/CALB. EVE is also coming out with new 100Ah cells that have a lesser life and possibly "cheaper", or planed obsolescence!.

    Very nice, very adequate cables, and low temperature charging protection. I think (could be wrong, it is difficult to tell from a video) that there is not only fiber board in between cells, but also some foam? As long as you don't open it and start playing with the terminals, I don't think shorting out would be a problem. The cells? Well, I'm not all that familiar with the brand, but I haven't heard bad things about them. The fact it measures around 8% above capacity does let you know they are accurately rated new cells. A dozen or so cycles and should measure just over 100 amp hours. No-name BMS? Well, just like every other pre-assembled battery, but with real low temperature protection for cheap!

    Good review but low temp protection should be a game stopper for outdoor use. Any time I use a LiFeO4 battery I want that protection. One cold night (32F) and the sun comes out (charges) and destroys the battery. One way these could rated is OK for indoors or OK for outdoors. It can freeze anywhere in the US. Why take the chance to lose $379 not to mention loss in production and time to figure out what's wrong?... You are an excellent reviewer on these batteries. It is very helpful for us to see build quality. Amazon now has these for $345.

    • @LithiumSolar
      @LithiumSolar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just to be clear, this battery (ADCBatt) DOES have low-temp charging protection that works quite well. It was the battery yesterday (Lossigy) that did not.

    Question. Why do all these batteries say only 4 can be used in parallel? Is this something to do with the BMS? Seems to me many could be used in parallel.

    • @LithiumSolar
      @LithiumSolar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I don't have an exact answer; however, I suspect it has to do with the ability of the BMSes to interrupt heavy fault currents. With proper over-current protection, any number of batteries can be paralleled in theory.

    • @thechiefsway2618
      @thechiefsway2618 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LithiumSolar I think you just nailed it. If there is an excessive current draw with too many batteries the shared load between the batteries would not rise to the point to trigger the BMS's to shut down. Perfect, Thanks!

    • @LithiumSolar
      @LithiumSolar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've done time-lapses in the past. The problem is they generate 100GB+ of video footage just to squeeze it down to 4 seconds lol. I had a off-brand GoPro thing at one point that had an actual time-lapse mode, but it wasn't designed for close-up focusing and wasn't of much use.

    Update here. I grabbed 2 for my camper as soon as this video came out and so far they are working great, so one season in the books. I probably drew them down 12 times or so. I have an 1100 watt inverter hooked up and I use a 20 amp charger. The output and charging are working as expected. Prices are coming down so I will probably grab a couple more in the spring or many get the 200 ah version so I have 2 less cables when its hooked up. These will outlive my camper.
