Witness as true Draco wins yet another MBT
All I know what to do anymore is summon fibrax, it's been so long. I don't know what yugioh is anymore. The other day, I drew Veiler and tried to normal summon it. In Plant format. Everything has become fibrax to me. There are no other monsters, no spells other than tuning. The only trap i know how to activate is conquistador. Occasionally I add back a card with barricadeborg, and I cry a little. I attack for game but wish I was being gamed instead. It's become a joke of sorts, or maybe it's just my life. I can't go anywhere without seeing auroradon combos. I went to feed my dog the other night, but instead of eating she turned into a link 1 and summoned 2 tokens that can't be used for a link summon that turn. I had to put her down. I sit in the corner now counting down the days, the days where we shall see sweet release from this torment, the day when synchro summoning was about 2 monsters having a special bond and creating something beautiful. Those days are long gone. I have seen God, and I have seen the devil, but they are one and the same. I stared into the abyss and screamed, and it screamed back: "summon linkross effect”

Previous Moron Banlists were more thoughtful because they were made with the idea of actually releasing cards that don't need to be there. Last time MBT said himself that now that he has done that, the goal is just to release as many cards as possible, basically for the sake of it. If you want a more thoughtful Moron Banlist, watch previous videos where he did that. No point making the same video over and over again

There are exceptions like Time Seal, which sucks, might not suck as much since Labrynth is a thing. Surely he could make another more serious one but refer to point A

@@pmrobin8 well yeah. What does putting every banned card to 1 even do? You get staples but that really all it is. It'd just be already existing decks running these one of staples and nothing else. When u unban cards to 3 then you introduce more decks that can be played so it's actually entertaining rather than watching normal yugioh with a strong card every now and then.

I thought Joseph was pretty open about how this one and the previous banlist "prediction" lists were about seeing how much you could take off the list without actually changing what the best decks are, not making the game more fun. The card does read "you have infinite normal summons per turn", and can explicitly be used during your opponent's battle phase to normal summon any number of monsters. Are we pretending that special summons aren't good specifically because you can do as many as you want per turn?

Should Victory Dragon stay banned? Yes.
Should cards like Trap Dustshoot, an ancient ban that was situational at best in its hayday of 20,000 years ago, stay banned? No.

16:00 Verte is literally better. It dodges the most commonly played card in the game, Ash Blossom. The point is that with Verte, every hand can get to FD. Without Verte, you have to hard draw FD.
Remember, FD as a spell takes a card out of your hand while Verte can just send from Deck and randomly dodges things like Crossout/Prohibition too.
The power of verte is any two monsters do it, in most cases you've already checked for ash before hard activating FD unless your hand is bad and you were gonna do DPE pass or something.

Decks are now much more diverse now. Obviously there's still problems but we have Despia, Swordsoul, Flundereeze, Therion PUNK, Dragon Link, etc. as the top decks. Verte was "the problem" of the package.

I think the logic is, Harp at 1 is Harp at 7 for Orcust due to Girsu and Scars. Where as Engage is maybe at 2 on any specific turn. I would love to be able to have Harp Horror back just because the deck really hurts without it, but that might be the logic.

But the point of the list is not just nerfing powerful archetypes, but we also want to get rid of obnoxious cards. We are 100% sure plant ftk or "solemn cards+ last turn+ barrier statues" lists won't be any near to competitive, but boy if they can be ridiculous to play against.
Farfa argument is not so weak and I believe the masochistic tournament while fun it doesn't prove at all if some cards could or couldn't come out from the list safely.

Wait, i'm confused. If someone could explain how victory dragon works? I've never seen the card played every ( fairly new player ). It says "If this card attacks your opponent directly and reduces their life points to 0, you win the match" isn't that redundant? that's how you win. by reducing the opponents life points to 0. I feel like I'm not understanding the issue with the card or the cards description.

It's called the Moron / Masochist Banlist Tournament for a reason, it's intentionally anti-fun, the only limit is that it shouldn't unreasonably raise the power level of top meta matchups, or in other words, straight-up break the game.
MBT is mostly right (some of his choices are insane). The forbidden list should only really contain cards that are meta relevant. If you ban every irrelevant off meta card that isn't "fun" then you are going to end up with a list clogged with trash like Gishki Gustkracken and Naturia Bamboo shoot. No matter how unfun a card is, once it loses relevance to the meta, it should leave the list.

To play devil's advocate about fusion destiny: activating verte can't be ash'd vs raw activating destiny. There's also the variable of not needing to have the destiny in hand to make use of it whereas verte is always live so long as you can put 2 bodies on the board. Which is statistically more likely than topdecking a 3-of. In a vaccuum raw dropping destiny is the better option when consistency isn't a variable however you will have a greater likelihood of just being able to make verte and banking on your opponent not having imperm, vieler, or gamma.
So verte can't be ashed but can be hit by 3 other commonly played hand traps
Also that's the point, you use verte for when you don't open fd and make something better than verte when you do open it

@@zacharycannaday6075 first off, sending the fusion card to the graveyard is part of verte's cost rather than effect, so you can't ash that. But what about verte's actual effect? Well verde's effect reads "this effect becomes that Spell's effect when that card is activated, also, you cannot special summon..." so verte's effect is "copy the fusion cards effect", which is not something ash can negate, even if she would've been able to negate the copied effect

Actually ultimate offering would be extremely good on monarchs, using your squires on your oponents turn to generate tribute fodder and then using them to summon more monarchs, and also if you could summon 1 erebus on your turn and other on the oponents turn it straight up loops 2 cards and then you the other monarchs

I think an important thing to note about MBT's banlist tournaments is that:
1) Eveyrone knows everyone else's deck list going in, so you can play specific counter cards like Eschatos with precision, and
2) He's lying anyway, because he gives himself the ability to veto certain decks from being entered, so you can't just freely take advantage of the ban list he curated.
Exactly. Everyone is on Droll in every one of these tournaments. It is frustrating. It is always "See, FTKs and endless draw power doesn't work. Just draw Droll." Like... hello? lol. Nobody like formats where you either play Droll or lose.

normal summon during opponents turn could be cracked depending on what you play with it, though that requires two cards in hand but being able to normal summon amano or something along those lines would be good

Mass driver is also absolutely awful. We have 3x cannon soldier who is infinitely more searchable and summonable than a continuous spell that isnt part of an archetype.
Also as MBT said if you can summon 20 times you can make a billion negates or have already gotten nibiru'd.
Pay offs are hardly ever the issue. Game is all about how consistent your engine is and how well it plays through handtraps.

Darkworld FTK that deck would've ran soldier over driver due to how flexible the card is over a continuous spell especially since if you discarded it you just went with plan B of 5000 negates and used the potential extra dark in grave for cards like beginning of the end.
Probally just me and a few others but ultimate offering comes off, monarch players would want to normal/tribute summon on their oponent's turn, but thats nieche.
Example your oponents turn during battle phase, they try to chain monster offects, you can chain uo tribute into either majesty's fiend to stop the stack, casius to banish something, mobius to destroy two back ground, or even better the mega monarchs or erebus/ehther for more disruption

Farfa cries about everything from the state of us politics to really anything and everything under the sun. His entire channel is false outrage.
Okay one thing I do have to point out on farfas opinion on misc is the fact that it is vulnerable to hand traps through it's second effect. It's second effect for most Dino builds is very important as it can be the combo starter and if you ash, bell, called by or skull meister it, it hurts a ton. With lythosagm(however you spell it) it does mean you don't need to rely on misc as much to get archo to pop your baby but he can still be a brick in your hand.
Also misc only protects your dinosaurs so if you try your scrap combo, it can still be hit by stuff like nibiru which can shutdown the Dino player.
Basically, I do think misc might be okay to go 2 as then it means he's not as common in opening hands and if you hit the misc with a negate, they only have 1 left. This also keeps the true king variants down as with 2 misc it means you have less of a chance of getting thr fire true king effect off and he will just be even more more of a break.

technilcy you could maybe 2-3 turn kill with a burn efect deck useing ulti offering asuming you set for example flamevail traps before and have ways to normal into fires to get more fires in the grave then use secret barrel + the flamevail trap that burns for damge based on fires in grave but even then they could easly just respond to any of those efects, so thecnilcy it would be more of a 2-3 turn kill but yehhh
The game is fun when you get to play with your cards. Every card that doesn't break the game should be unbanned.

i play goat format a lot and you know uhm, duo can never come back, the people who made it were batshit crazy
I agree that ultimate offering can come off the ban list. It's a trap so it's slow and it's also vulnerable since its a continuous. It'll give normal summon/tribute summon decks a boost (other than floowandereeze). Yeah you can extend off your opponents turn with it but I can't see people putting it in their decks in hopes of getting 1 extension off of it.
Change of heart is scary, use the meteor hand trap and change of heart on the token to one shot.
There are much stronger turn 3 plays if you get to resolve nibiru and your opponent has an empty field
It's basically impossible to lose if you do that anyway

Errata Victory Dragon so that it says "While this card is on the field, your opponent cannot forfeit" and it can comr back.
Duo is funny to me because there's a psychic support card where you tribute one of your psychic monsters and they shuffle their hand and draw three which was always funny turn one.
Aqua dolphin also needs you to discard, you give up one to potentially remove one, it also doesn't work (and you get burned) if they have no monsters in hand

The last episode of The masochist banlist series would have MBT removing every card from the banlist and destroying Yugioh once and for all thus saving the environment and preventing the end of the world.

To be honest, Master Piece can maybe come back to 1 if the Draco field spell is banned.
Think about it. Only the Draco archetype can search this, and has to be normal summoned to gain its immunities. It's broken now because the field spell is splashable in many decks (such as dinos), and can not only search it, but also protect it. With the field spell gone, it becomes a powerful card that can't really fit into many decks, since it needs two tributes. Eldlich can make great use of it, a powerful top deck that can use the continuous traps to give it immunity to Skill Drain (which needs to be put back to one if im being honest).
Pendulums can maybe use him, since their scales can be used a tributes.
I don't know. Would be wild if it came back in some way.

Victory Dragon doesn't work in closed tournaments like this. With the amount of resources it would take to normal it, you could just win the game. Even then, match winners only work in the ocg where you can't just scoop on your opponent's turn.
Djinn doesn't work in Drytron, the only viable ritual deck currently. Unless we see some Nekroz, I don't see anyone playing it.

Misc is literally the only reason Dino could be competitive. The deck still loses to a bunch of the meta.
Even without Verte, every deck is still gonna splash DPE. The third copy of Fusion Destiny won't do anything but clog your hand after turn 1.
Tempest Magician is only plausible in Endymion and we all know how unviable pend is.

I'm not sure if delinquent duo fits in the current format, discarding 2 is good but it doesn't advance your gamestate, in a combo deck you'd rather have ways to deal with opponent's hand traps or have extenders in a control it can be useful but don't you have more impactful cards to play? But the main problem is that the card is quite attrocious in go second, sometimes you will hit a hand trap but against most decks the menances you want to deal with are on the field. In the end I really have a hard time seeing a strategy that would want to incorporate such a card in its arsenal, and moreover I don't take into account the possibility that the card could not be effective against your opponent'strategy.
Literally activate duo before your combo and randomly hit or force your opponent to discard a hantrap. At absolute worst your opponent will keep and successfully use hantraps them against you, but then would be left with no cards to do their own combo.
Quick take regarding Victory Dragon, couldn't Konami just reprint Victory Dragon with the text "this card cannot be used in a Duel", like with all the other cards that are exactly the same!? Make it make sense!
To my knowledge Konami never removes legal cards. It's not that victory dragon should be illegal to play but that its effect is so weird and busted that any card that is illegal to play may as well include it
The only way it could be unbanned and keep its effect is if they ruled your opponent can't surrender which would just be unfun

Victory Dragon would be a great comeback. Think about it: Every event, they devote 15 seconds to explaining that it will never resolve. Effs over the people who thought they could be cheeky. Then it just becomes an inside joke.
The main problem with Yu-Gi-Oh is that ppl think the answer to each format is to ban a bunch of cards they don't like instead of just letting the power creep sink in
Yeah with all the going second cards that exist currently, I agree the solution isn’t always a nuclear banlist. We did need certain cards to go this format, just for the health of the game though.

Verte is better than Fusion Destiny because the likelihood of you having two monsters left to make verte is higher than the chance that you naturally drew fusion destiny
Fusion Destiny costs less to activate but can also brick your hand with multiple copies. A card's versatility and accessibility is sometimes more important than its stated effects.

We don't need a card that can out rhongo. That way you just end up creating cards that blanket out everything.
