  • This episode helps us understand the Adventist Beliefs surrounding the 9th Fundamental Belief: The Life, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. How was each portion of Jesus’ life connected to our salvation? Why did Jesus have to die? Was Jesus real? Questions like these and more are addressed by Dr. Frank Hasel, Keldie Paroschi, and guest Dr. John McVay.
With Jesus as our Savior, it is necessary to look at the complete story of His life, death, and resurrection. Each part of His story is intimately connected to salvation and is complete when looked at together. This episode breaks down each specific part and dives into the questions surrounding them. With Frank Hasel and other biblical theologians leading the discussion, you will surely be blessed with a deeper understanding of the belief of Christ.
Just as Romans 5:10 states, “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” Jesus exemplified what it means to live according to God's law. Through Him, we are forever connected to God. Through His sacrifice, we can obtain salvation.

All of these parts of Christ's mission are in line with the prophecies that were given of Him to the tiniest detail. Because of this we can be assured concerning the prophecies of His second Advent.

Thanks for the opportunity to join the discussion regarding the fundamentals of Adventists. In my view, we can't address these important subjects till we clarify the purpose of religion or religious life. So, I would be grateful if you could share your understanding as to the principle purpose of religion in humanity's history & life. Thanks.

You're welcome! Addressing the fundamentals of Adventism within the broader context of the purpose of religion is a meaningful approach. From our perspective, the principal purpose of religion is to provide a framework for spiritual connection, moral guidance, and a sense of purpose in life. How does this align with your understanding, and how might it influence the way we approach the fundamentals of Adventism? We can be your friend who's willing to listen and pray for you. If you have any spiritual or emotional concerns, please feel free to chat with us at m.me/TheAdventistChurch. God bless you.

Are the theologians so confident in their smarts of the Scriptures that they don't need to invite the Holy Spirit's help, guidance and discernment in these discussions? If they don't need it, the listeners surely do. We should always discuss the Word bathed in prayer. Our viewers need to actually be a part of this.

God has the resolve to put an END to SIN. PRAISE the Lord! Affliction will NOT rise up the second time.

    KJV Genesis 2:16-17
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
By sin, death came into the world; by Christ's resurrection death was done away with. As we die in Christ, we will be resurrected as He was ressurected in victory.

I have been questioned by many Moslem friends that how can I say that Jesus is God, and then say that He died for our sins. They unanimously cry out "God cannot die." I then ask the question, cannot God do all things, is there anything He cannot do? Why would you put restrictions on Him?

Happy New Year! Thank you for sharing your question with us. The specific day of the week on which Jesus was crucified is not explicitly stated in the Bible. However, the belief in Jesus' crucifixion on a Friday is commonly derived from a combination of biblical passages.
One relevant reference is Mark 15:42, which mentions the preparation day before the Sabbath:
"Now when evening had come because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath..."
This verse, in conjunction with the accounts of Jesus' crucifixion and burial, has led to the tradition of associating Good Friday with the day of the crucifixion.
It's important to note that interpretations may vary among Christian denominations, and the specific day of the week is not a central focus of the biblical narrative surrounding Jesus' sacrifice.
