That’s such a lovely thing to say, and I really appreciate it, in a world where it’s hard to stay authentic and true to yourself, I’m really proud to try my best!
I'm an American and this year football grabbed me and pulled me in. The concepts of promotion and relegation are brilliant! I can't imagine what it must feel like for your team to be promoted and knowing you'll get to see matches against all the top teams next season. I wish we had something like this for baseball in the US.
Three things that bug me about American sports (even though I enjoy them). 1: there are no draws; 2: cannot be relegated/promoted; 3: no real engagement with your continent or rest of the world to claim genuine titles outside of America
The American system has its pros and cons. Whilst I get what you are saying, our game is not perfect. The finances of football limits success to the rich. What do Southampton have to look forward to with promotion? Survival? Mid-table mediocrity? I watch baseball also and for the most part, every team stands a chance at winning the World Series…except the As and White Sox I guess!
@@Dench999or911well, in football you should support your local team. Then, as a local, one can understand how much achieving something which is not winning (e.g. not being relegated) is equally important to such supporters. If you have no legacy to a team is more difficult to grasp such a concept.
@@giouk1 I don’t see how any of that is relevant to what I said. In American sports every team can conceivably win, we don’t have that in football. I’m a West Brom fan so reluctantly I accept that the possibility of my team actually winning something in my lifetime is unlikely. You could make the argument that is just the game, but it didn’t used to be like that did it. Last 30 years the big six have taken over and we just accept it. It’s not a perfect system.
Not really a big football fan or even English but Stunt Pegg really captures the passion that fans have for their teams and she just draws you in to the sport.
Got drawn in to your videos when I saw the one you did on Oldham Athletic (my team) and you reminded me why I love football. I've moved to London so don't get to see them often and feel nothing watching MotD, but your videos just convey the emotion that football brings to the people that love a team and that there is so much more to English football that just the premier league. Please keep these vids going, they're a great window in to the ups and downs of teams that don't have infinite money.
I have to say - SP this is one of my favourite channels, from editing, your presentation style, soh, content and just down to earth style - I suspect big things coming your way in media moving forward - what a great talent.
If I had to explain the essence of football to someone who had never heard of the sport and could only use one channel to do it, it's this one bar none.
Absolutely agree. The biggest thing that sets this channel apart is that it's not just all about star players & statistics & tactics (though she can certainly do that, and better than most all of the pundits), but also how she shows the way a club is woven into the fabric of a community. There's stuntpegg, and there's everyone else competing for 2nd place.
As a Saints fan, this season has been the best season in a very long time. Starting poorly, turning it round with the longest unbeaten streak in the clubs history, throwing away automatic promotion at the end, then coming through the playoffs and securing promotion. So many last minute equalizers, wins and loses, so many phenomenal goals and nervous hanging ons. Can't wait to get relegated next season and do it all again!
