    I knew TC in round, both flat and tube (and the flat one is excellent for baskets bottom or barrette hats), but I made it only in circles. It was very interesting to see how it turns into a square. Yet another excellent tutorial, thank you so much!

    I was just thinking I wanted something new to do in Tunisian crochet. Then I saw you uploaded this and I RAN to get my pink and white yarn! You were right to choose the interchangeable option. 💯 I tried with my 4 mm double ended hook, and it way way too short after the 3rd round.
    If you don’t mine I’d like to leave a note for those trying this square ☺️: So on the foundation round, the one where we start to TSS, place a starting stitch marker for the round and then IMMEDIATELY place a stitch marker on the yarn overs that will be corners. If you do this from the beginning then you won’t lose the loop and can move the marker for each yarn over made there after.
    Once I got to round 4 I found it easier to work one side, slide to do a return pass, then slide back to continue. Basically I work corner to corner, slid the work to do a return pass, then slid back up to work to the next corner. 👍🏽 I also found it easier to angle the hook coming out of the increase corners.
    I’m gonna make a bag, I think it will be so cute 🥰

    Tunisian has been on my to learn list for quite some time, but the right pattern never jumped out at me... something not too intimidating to learn, but still something interesting to make, while letting me experiment with a few techniques. A sampler blanket is the perfect answer, that I never thought of! So I jumped on the blanket pattern as soon as I saw it... my kit is on the way and I'm excited to start! I'm also glad this is the first square with a tutorial because I'm a little more limited with my selection of double-ended hooks, so it gives me a chance to find the right tool if I need to. Hopefully I can keep pace and have a beautiful holiday blanket by Christmas

      I totally get that. They both create very different textures, and there are different TC stitches you can work in the round. Doesn't hurt to have even more skills in your toolkit :-)

      Hi! I purchased that set ages ago from Amazon, but I can't find it anymore. I did find this set, which has gray hooks and blue cords (then you can get the white cords separately from Amazon) - www.knitdenise.com/collections/crochet/products/denise2go-crochet-for-a-cure-2-hook-set?variant=44740501143772

    Here’s the thing;I did not stitch along. I’m trying to learn about Tunisian crochet, having never known about this form of crochet before.. I’m fascinated by it, but still uncertain. I’ve watched a few of your videos, but on this one: I’m not understanding when to return pass. I think I’m stuck on “stitch count” (emphasis on the “count”!), that is causing my confusion.. In a Tunisian square, does it not matter if the stitch count is even? Does it just go by making sure to work the marked corner stitch, as another corner stitch? I believe my last sentence indicates just how confused I am! I’ll keep watching, and rerun some of the beginner videos I’ve saved…I am intrigued!

    I cannot for the life of me find a 6,5mm double sided hook, but I can find 6 and 7 mm more easily. Would you suggest the smaller or larger size if you don't have a 6,5mm?

    • @TLYarnCrafts
      @TLYarnCrafts  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      hi! I would recommend going up a size instead. If you're making the blanket, keep in mind that adjusting the hook size for this square may make it a different size from your other squares. I was able to find an inexpensive set of double ended hooks on amazon - amzn.to/3AGXAlh

    All you have done for all the lay the yarn here, wrap finger twice, pull this pull that is make an ordinary slip knot in the most complicated way possible. The only difference in the end result is, you did not pull the ring part of the knot tight around the hook.

    • @TLYarnCrafts
      @TLYarnCrafts  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      My method is like a slipknot, but a normal slipknot does not make an adjustable ring. Try it. This method does, and is simpler than normal magic rings for beginners. This might not be the method that works for you, but it works for many others.

    • @Desaundrea
      @Desaundrea 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      When she is saying “knit 1”, she means A TUNISIAN KNIT STITCH: You stick the hook BETWEEN the two bars, yo, pull the loop through the bars.
      If you know how to Tunisian crochet then the “knit 1” is self explanatory. Especially since we are not actually KNITTING. 🤷🏽‍♀️ We are still only using 1 hook at a time, not two needles.

      Knit one in the corner, is the increase, so your knitting one, yarn over knit one, it's Tunisian knit stitch which is different, the rest is simple Tunisian stitch, that's why she says simple, I hope that helps.

    • @awilson8521
      @awilson8521 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Since it's a TC video, it's best to assume Toni is using Tunisian Knit Stitch (tks).

      Honey, we all are knitters and crocheters and spinners and weavers at once, so this flex is unnecessary. I'm sorry but this comment is just mean, I don't see any other point of you to do it?! Do you actually expect Toni to get note and in future every time to say ''tunisian knit stitch'' one, just because your concentration expires so fast that you barely can remember on which type of project you sit to work? I have nothing against ADHD, but we all have to deal with our own imperfections in private, she can't rewrite one excellent tutorial for someone's clearness 🙄.
