About Gangs of New York:
As waves of immigrants swell the population of New York, lawlessness and corruption thrive in lower Manhattan’s Five Points section. Question: why does everyone think she is a terrible actress?
He's finally starting to NOT look like a little boy....
I don’t think she was ever cast in a serious film again after this.
It's amazing how Cameron Diaz's subpar performance doesn't even affect those of Daniel Day-Lewis or Leo DiCaprio.

To be honest, I`m trying ever so hard to see how Cameron Diaz fits into this film, like I did with Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker`s Dracula and Jesse Eisenberg in Batman v Superman but mostly how she is, compared to Leo DiCaprio in this film.

I don't think Cameron Diaz was a spectacular actress but she was very pretty in this movie and in her prime when this came out.
You gotta remember, most people in these days didnt have showers, they didnt have nice perfums or tampons or anything.

Why does Leo look like John Snow in this scene?
It's not so much that she's a terrible actress (as the majority of the comments point out) - it's that in order to pull off one the most difficult accents, you better damn well nail it or else you will be scrutinized. She probably was in over her head for this role, she is better suited for comedy/romantic comedies. She isn't a terrible actress... she just isn't one of the best.
