Awesome the Dark Knight, this is the one I have been waiting for. As you may know I have been using the Turnigy Evolution for Quad flying and a Futaba J8 for my planes, but with this I can use it for both. ( Big thumbs up that you can charge your lipo's wiliest connected, and takes the Cross Fire ) AWESOME
also just for you and others they also ship it with a set of stiffer springs, instructions on how to install em can be found in the UFPV Nirvana Users group on facebook. (or how to swap em to get mode1)
I like the touch screen Open TX setup. Looks like FrSky will have to come out with something similar to stay in the game, though, after all these years, I'm still quite comfortable setting things up in my old Taranis X9D+ . Thanks for the look.
Big kids and Little Kids alike are gonna love this thing .... very cool ...however those JR pins are toast .. Thingiverse Customization ? .... CHEERS !
I bought one of these im waiting for it to come IM EXCITED i want to use this for flying my giant scale fixed wings i also just bought a diatone gtr530v2 liked your vidios alot
The hot-swappable 18650's, a couple of questions: 1) If you have 1 cell in and want to load another, is there a way of knowing which side is empty? 2) Are the batteries directly wired in parallel? I wouldn't want to connect a fully charged cell to a nearly empty cell for obvious reasons. A multimeter in continuity mode should be able to tell you, touching the + contacts and then the - contacts of the TX.
Some questions on the Crossfire full module: 1. Can it be powered from the radio, if yes, what is the maximum wattage? 2. How would one mount the full size module?
Hello, good vid, I've got the nirvana nv14 and I need to control the xk k130, will it work? or I need any module? any answer will be much appreciated, thank you
Watching this video again, I saw at the 7:42 mark when you're accessing the page selection menu bar you have to reach over the gimbal to touch the screen, I hope the coders can entertain the idea of moving that menu selection bar to the bottom of the screen, making it easier to access with your thumbs and also your hand won't be covering the screen when you do so.
As many of here I'm using Q7s. But this FlySky radio has a lot of good and practical features. Usb, charging battery inside, touch screen, easy set up menu, etc. I have one question. How long battery will last between charging with this screen on. I hope its goes dark once not in use as on smartphones.

@@Painless360 okay thanks. I like the look of the TBS tango but I want something that can support more than just the crossfire protocol and with the aid of modules the x lite will do that if only they made jumper/radiomaster with a game pad form factor as i think i want that shape
Hi cool video but , would you have any idea how long until pre orders are shipped from underground fpv . Because i already pre ordered one but I'm sweating on how long its going to take lol . Cheers
I certainly like the look of it, but me and touch screens do not get on - especially small ones. Think it must be my big finger tips, i have enough trouble using the touch screen on my phone, so will give this a miss.
What's the daylight visibility like? Makes the Taranis LCD look a bit dated, but that is great in direct sunlight, colour phone screen is good but my phone is difficult to view in strong sunlight.
What functions will you lose if you buy this transmitter from another company. Also if you put the jr module on the back will it enable me to use it with my frsky x receivers
I'm giving this radio a wide berth until things settle down. There seems to be two versions and only those from UndergroundFPV will have the 'special firmware'. Still not sure what that will actually contain over the radios from others, so until it's clear I'll not be creating another video for it..
Dear Friend Good day Please how we can open the Nirvana models with Open TX Companion, I try many ways but it’s not work. Also I copy the models from one NV14 to another and also was not work.
Apparently the 'vanilla' versions out there do not have the same hardware as the ones that will come direct from UndergroundFPV. Check the recent posts to "UndergroundFPV Dark Knight Radio" thread on RCGroups.
I hope you can get some answers direct from UndergroundFPV or Flysky over this one because now there's reports in that thread saying UFPV only said there were differences so people would order direct from them. This is a TX I want but don't need as my Turnigy TGY-i10 suits me fine (plus I have spare units), so I'm prepared to wait until the dust settles.
update video for this radio! I just got mine and there's such little documentation about this radio.. I checked RC Groups and some people are saying the Open TX still doesn't support LUA scripts so crossfire micro users are still waiting... are you using crossfire micro with yours?
my flysky n14 arrived today, open tx is a bit confusing but i think i've got it set up, two almost identical pages ''inputs'' and mixers'' i set up both and am not sure which one worked lol. also there is a tiny click when i yaw right to left just as it crosses over center line.... hope it isn't serious. ergonomics arent great for me so far, i'm sure i will be able to wangle it, another mystery is charging mode? is it always charging when its connected to pc? anyway, connected to flit14+ and all seems well, might try it on grand theft auto 5 drone mod later.... ps, ipaid 143 quid for it on banggood, its 117 now............unavailable from all UFPV euro sellers.
Very interesting, and the hobby needs innovation like this. Not for me though, apart from anything else the lack of conventional trim controls puts me off.
TBH, IMHO, the 'nav button' trims seem a whole lot better design than 'trad' trims which are always in completely the wrong ergonomic position (originally mechanically attached to their pots, but not now) . I only fly fixed wing and as long as switch types are easily swapped around, I think this might be a winner.
I agree with you. To get to the trims on this radio, you’d need to take a hand off because the gimbal is between your thumb and the trim switch. I’m all for having a single button for the trim, but it has to be below the gimbal so that you can just move your thumb down to make the necessary changes and get back on the control stick as soon as possible. To me this is a bad piece of design.
Yes, I'd agree on the upper position being incorrect - more of an afterthought I think - lower 'somewhere' makes more sense perhaps - unless they are designed to be used with the index finger if thumbing - maybe Lee could comment on this. However, both systems require you to take your hand off the gimbal anyway - not sure how you could move the trims otherwise?? Perhaps three hands or 6 fingers ;-)
Hey! You actually can adjust spring tension for yaw, roll and pitch, but you need to open it up. Check out Oscarliang blog post on the Nirvana. Cheers!
For a radio that is throwing away the rule book I'd have expected simple screw adjustment without having to crack the case..

I absolutely agree with you on that, I also can't understand why there are 3 momentary switches on that thing. I'm not much of a plain or heli pilot maybe they use them but seems ridiculous to me. Oh well i'm still waiting on that perfect pinching controller for drone pilots. Give me two two position switches, two three position switches, a momentary switch, make it ergonomically for pinchers and I would be a happy camper.
usb charging is nice ... seems like a good radio .. but i drive cars ...so noble seems best .. and later get this for a custom FPV car where i can use more channels , Lights , Horn , turning cameras etc
Really not keen on the look of this radio. I don’t like the switch positions. The front switches look too far out the way and the switches on the back look like they’d get in the way constantly. Also, why 3 momentary switches, I barely use 1. The trims look completely out of place, ideally you’d want to operate them without having to let go of the controller, so should be below the gimbal. I’d prefer a removable antenna for the internal module to allow more options and easier to replace if it’s broke. The flip up antenna is just a gimmick to me. While on the back, the lack of a traditional handle means that there’s nowhere to add a stand, which if you’re using crossfire you use to hold the battery that powers it. The only thing I really like is the touch screen, however, I wish they’d wrapped it with a more traditional style transmitter. The 18650 system is also pretty damn good. Overall though, I’d pass, I’d rather have a transmitter that was more ergonomic, especially in relation to switch and trim positions, than something with a colour screen and a wacky case.

Fantastic if is compatible with crossfire and R9 you just sold one for them. This channel is better that any hobbyshop.
So looking forward to this series, I'm ordering my copy of this next Thursday! Hehehe
Spring tension can be adjusted. You have to open the case to access the adjustment screws.
Interesting. How do you know that? All of the detail in this video has been confirmed by the radios designers.
Oscar Liang posted a tutorial on it a couple of days ago. Photos included. Shows how to change modes and all.
Interesting, I'll check that out.. Thanks for posting!

Pretty much all radios have to be opened up to adjust spring tension
This and Crossfire looks like it would be easy to set up and a slick combo

It's ok, but I believe the next revision of the firmware will also increase the brightness which will be needed for really bright sunlight.
