This is was a revelation, could not figure out why I couldn’t get past a short follow through until I isolated it right then left. Figured out that poor mobility in my left shoulder was preventing my left arm moving as it should, never noticed it before because it’s not painful, just restricted movement due to an old injury. Something to work on. Thanks
Well explained Marc, important to trace back to the root cause that's creating the problem in the first place and preventing the good golf swing follow through. Cheers
Hmmm. My swing thought is 'swing with the left arm' but I still have problems following through. Never in a practice swing of course, which I could not possibly stop, but put a ball there and the club stops before it reaches parallel.
Well that just ended 2 years of misery. I've been struggling for ages and my h/cap has gone from 8 to 12 . I was beginning to think as I've just hit 70 it was the years catching up on me. Tried this tip today at the range and WOW I was nailing everything better than I've hit the ball for years. Thanks so much.
Great video. I am left-handed at single handed sports but right handed at double handed sports (i..e I play tennis LH but golf RH). After watching your video, I now understand that my right-hand side is 'talented' (surprisingly) and my left-hand side, though dominant, is not. In my own case, I believe its a case of not clearing my left hip with my LHS swing and not always transferring my weight to the LHS as a consequence. I know what to work on now - both on the practice ground AND on the course!
that is the same for me, i'm left handed but golf, bat, play hockey and shoot a rifle right handed. i'm also right eye dominant also i eat, write, throw, bowl, use tools etc. left handed, go figure.
That’s absolutely true! I’m a left handed amateur golfer with bad chunks and thins , my right hand always refuses to make the follow through easier !! Any drills help?
Try making short swings with one arm at a time. Feel how your more dominant, coordinated side move successfully through the swing ... then try to match the feel while swinging with your non-dominant hand. If you can train both sides of the body to work together ... you will have more success getting into that picture perfect follow through!
This right here is exactly what I think is wrong with my golf swing. One handed drills? No issue. Putting two hands on a club and putting it together? My body refuses to cooperate. Thank you.
Thank you for commenting! Here is a video that has an exercise that can help to train the non-dominant side of your body. Enjoy :) th-cam.com/video/Z545XnWOMbI/w-d-xo.html
Huh? What are you saying? Seems as if you’re overloaded with golf tips if you aren’t understanding that we’re talking about getting both sides of the body working together

“Lightbulb” moment for me! Thx!

Thank you Joe! Continued success!
What tip? He said the same (interesting) thing over and over again.....but offered no advice on how to best correct the problem.

@@GolfMadeSimple oh that’s a great advice which I will definitely focus on in order to fix my follow through! Most appreciated 🙏
Makes sense! Good advise 👍
This is huge folks, everything he's said is truth. Get both sides married up and watch it fly
so how do you train your non dominant side?
Good Question...
yeah this video highlighted a problem but has no solution
It is both a movement and a series of fundamentals.

It would be great to know how to train the non dominant side.

Excellent advice. My right side is an athlete, my left side is a freakin moron!
Makes no sense to me. You tell us what's wrong, but not a drill to fix it!

what you are demonstrating is not a real follow through. A real followthrough winds up with all the weight on the left foot
Is that the definition of a real follow through? All weight on your left foot?
