      Dude I got a big idea The next video you should do hits on the stars universe it should be about the Imperial army Or the military again And it's history When the bad batch releases the final episodes when we get to the end of season 2 you should do a video on but the Imperial military looks like now In the 2nd year of its reign the galactic Empire's reign Is I haven't noticed that much changed by the Imperial government or you know military That's season 2 episode 7 and 8 might resolve that buty showing us the final actions of the clone stormtrooper Retirement If I know time that we see clones Finding among the Time the clone storm troopers fight alongside TK stone troopers before they were tired or told to Retire

      @@jare3459 Speaking about old lore that may/may not be canon. Still, the main gist of the Star Wars story as a whole is that the Sith represent evil and the Jedi represent good. In any given story, 99 percent of all good-vs-evil is expected to end with evil losing and good standing triumphant.
      Evil, nor Villainy or Villains are EVER meant to be seen as people of virtue or to be recognized as something positive. No matter the circumstances that lead to their creation, Evil doers and Villains are ALWAYS meant to be vilified and never celebrated.
      Today's generations have somehow lost this very critical fact, when it comes to story telling. It's high time people started listening to the hard fact, and change this line of thinking.

    • @nicholasbrown668

      @@ICU1337 more like "the story was extremely trashy and makes no sense at all" yeah sure no one is gonna notice that every fleet yard and weapons company is just mass producing and stockpiling equipment for a decade ahead of time
      That would be lile Raytheon saying "hey guys we are gonna build 50k cruise missiles and keep them in our warehouse for no reason whatsoever" yeah no one would believe that BS
      Makes even less sense when you put it on a galactic scale, the only reason Palpatine plan even worked is because every character in star wars has the mental capacity of a 3 year old with down syndrome
      Also the clone army makes no sense, never understood why they went that route "yeah let's raise an army that realistically couldn't fight for more than a six month period before taking irreversible losses" they would have to create a new batch of 500k clones every month to keep a steady and reliable supply ten years down the line (also there are less than 1.5 million clones in total at the beginning of the war, thats comparable to North Koreas entire front line force and they expect us to believe 1.5 million soldiers spread across an entire galaxy is gonna stop an endless drone army? Yeah makes zero sense)
      By wars end they state that 3 million clones were made, so cool, we have a galactic wide force that is equal in size to a superpower on earth
      So its nice to know that the United militaries of earth would be able to conquer the entire Star Wars galaxy
      Like seriously how are we expected to believe Palpatine is this big braniac when he made a force comparable to a 3rd world country, and expected it to fight a force thats stated to have had "trillions" of droids that alone shows how little sense the overall story of star wars is (and the GAR is comparable to a 3rd world country, they have zero working body armor, in fact OUR body armor would probably be more effective than anything starwars has, starwars a universe where a super elite, heavily armored soldier, can be killed by having a rock thrown at his chest)

    • @joendeo1890
      @joendeo1890 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@nicholasbrown668the clones were just the primary military force, there were plenty of volunteer and militia units. Military police and other such.
      While the droid army actually HAD a problem of having so many units. It is hard to logistically supply and deploy that many units. Let alone actually amassing too many in one spot makes them harder to manuver because they get in eachother's way and become a very juicy target for artillery and aerial bombardment.
      As for the companies stockpiling things. The issue with the trade federation's growing power and unrest among the worlds that would eventually become the CIS were well known by political elite but corruption and general filibustering in the senate prevented the aversion of a lot of what ended up happening. They knew that with the invasion of Naboo many systems would start building up their own local security forces as a response. Just in case.

    The rise and fall of the Grand Army of the Republic and the clones is tragic. Originally created to be nameless drones to fight a war they had no say in, from its flames they forged their own personalities and individuality. Only for most of them to lose it all again. But even from that tragedy a lucky were able to help in restoring the republic they fought to defend.

    Not only my favorite fictional military, but also one of my favorite stories in all of science fiction. Everything from the clones themselves, the armor they wear and the weapons they use, to the vehicles and starships they operate, and the organizational structure and specialized units which rose out of it. It's just fascinating to me, the amount of detail there is in fleshing it out.
    Then there's their story, one of the greatest tragedies in the Star Wars universe, one of the saddest tales ever told. An entire army of soldiers who had barely any choice but to fight, who found things to fight for in each other, their commanders, and the Republic itself, and who were ultimately used as pawns in a much larger scheme which tore them apart and forced them to destroy all they held dear. Those who didn't follow were hunted down, or went insane, or simply hated everything they had become until they inevitably died one way or another.

      Well like he said in the video Dooku and Dyas portrayed themselves as members of the Jedi Council and representatives of the Republic. The Jedi were seen as very highly regarded figures in the Republic, and technically both of them were former members of the Jedi Council, so it would’ve been a very believable lie. Also Dooku probably paid for it himself, Dooku was incredibly rich thanks to his status as Count of Serrano, and later funded large parts of the Droid Army, so he could’ve also paid for the initial batch of clones. Even if he couldn’t since he was doing this for Sidious, Palpatine probably would’ve had a way to pay for the Clones with his influence.

    One of my 'what if...?' scenarios is to ponder the question: What if a Galactic Empire-scale war machine was created for the purpose of good and justice rather than tyranny and destruction.
    I think that this is why I liked the GTU so much: It comes close to addressing this question. Although decidedly fascist in nature, push comes to shove, the Union refused to tolerate the oppression of the weak (perhaps as a cultural memory about how the humans were almost destroyed before first leaving their home system by what could best be described as interstellar vandals). A Galactic Republic following the failure of Palpatine's seizure of power would be similar to this, in my view.

    • @Cailus3542

      The Republic and the Jedi were already doomed long before the Clone Wars. The Republic had become a bloated morass of corruption and weakness. Giving it the clone army wouldn't have changed that, and might even have made things worse. The Jedi weren't any better. They had become politicised, short-sighted and self-interested, caring more about politics than the Force. Hell, the Jedi Council was on the verge of staging a coup d'etat when they thought that Palpatine was just an ordinary politician, then Mace Windu flat out tried to execute the guy in cold blood.
      The whole point of the prequels is that both the Republic and the Jedi needed to be torn down. It was the will of the Force that the Sith would win so that, eventually, something better would rise instead: the New Republic and Luke's new generation of Jedi.
      And no, I'm not counting the sequels.

      Or how a total force of 3 million clones was expected to police an entire galaxy, and fight a war across a galactic wide front against an army of droids numbering in "the trillions" while also manning a galactic navy numbering thousands of warships
      it makes zero sense outside of plot armor and shitty writing

    • @thomashsiai6250
      @thomashsiai6250 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@nicholasbrown668
      The amount of clones that die across TCW is not an indicator they have plot armor. Plot armor is when an entire imperial fleet led by Grand Admiral Thrawn is defeated by a few fighters led by some random green Twilek
      As seen in the battle of Geonosis, there were about 200,000 Clones deployed. If they had 20 kills each they could kill 4 million droids.
      The CIS objective at Geonosis was to escape with the majority of their army which they did. The battle itself was a holding action to keep the republic forces at bay. LAATs, SPHAs, etc had destroyed numerous transports and even a core ship destroying hundreds of thousands or millions of droids.
      The tactical failure is when the republic fleet on Geonosis failed to destroy the rest of the core ships.
      The numbers of Clones vary wildly, between sources. But every clone was put to the best use as they could. Clone troopers saw a lot of action compared to rea soldiers, when they weren’t in action they were rotated as matinence crew, mechanics, etc.
      Clone troopers rarely policed the planets they were on. That was left to the PDF forces of each world. Ryloth, Pantora, Naboo, Eriadu, Mandalore, etc all had PDFs to police their populations. Core worlds also had their own PDF to police their worlds. But they couldn’t survive against a CIS invasion, that wasn’t their job.
      The droid army would’ve been much smaller on the battlefield than on paper. Not only did the Republic destroy the most major droid production facility earlier in the war, Geonosis. The republic had a similar sized navy to the CIS. Remember there were many massive ship building worlds like Kuat, Coruscant, Fondor, Anaxes, Etc. Venators we’re more high quality and the CIS generally outnumbered the GAR, but it was much closer than infantry numbers. The CIS also had similar large worlds, but they weren’t as developed as the core.
      Every republic naval victory could result in hundreds of thousands of destroyed droids. And as most crucial battlegrounds during the clone wars rarely had the infrastructure for massive droid armies the number of units is limited. Droids will run out of power relatively soon due to their cheap cost and can’t camp out like Clone Troopers.
      And if you still don’t believe me, many resort to the argument “it was just Palpatine’s plans” which is bullshit since Grevious didn’t really know about it. Did Count Dolly just deny him a massive portion of the army just for a “I need it for something else” or a bad excuse.

    I wonder if there is any explanation beyond "Palpi controlled both sides and wanted them to be easily distinct" as to why neither Republic, nor CIS( both of whom have some independent members) didn't enact conscription. We don't hear about standing armies of member states either. Mercenaries on both sides have barely any coverage. Not to mention there is no mentions of droid armies of the Republic
    Yes, Republic didn't forget how to build droids. It still used billions if not trillions of them in all sectors from bureacracy to entertainment. Once CIS members left the market, other members would have taken their niche and proposed weaponized versions of their civilian models. Think of Mister Gutsy in Fallout which was based on widespread household/construction model. Or basic CIS B1, which by all accounts started out as redesign of logistical/protocol droid.

      @nightstalker638 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Palpatine's plans revolved around being granted more and more power by the Senate in order to end the war. And grieving families would apply a lot of pressure to end the war "prematurely". Thus the decision was made to have the majority of fighting be done by "disposable" armies with no families.

    • @zoro115-s6b
      @zoro115-s6b ปีที่แล้ว +9

      The CIS worlds were mostly sparsely populated, with their real strength coming from industrial output, not manpower, so using droids made sense for them. As for the republic, I think that Palpatine wanted to avoid doing anything that would make the citizens and the jedi more skeptical about the war, and conscripting citizens would definitely do that. The use of the clone army let him amass the huge military that he wanted without causing the kind of discontent that massive conscription would create.
      I also personally theorize that part of the reason Palpatine wanted the CIS to use droids is because the jedi would be a lot less reluctant to become soldiers if their enemies were droids. If fighting the confederacy meant slaughtering organics en masse, the jedi would have opposed it, but because it was droids, they didn't have as many moral qualms about getting involved.

    • @pomeranianproductions647
      @pomeranianproductions647 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think its pretty easy to explain. Palpatine wanted for the Republican citizens in the core worlds to have a common enemy to rally behind and blame for the problems of the Republic, as is common in fascist regimes. He used already existent distrust towards droids aswell as xenophobia. It wouldnt fit within a anti-droid narrative to have droids fighting on the side of the "good guys" and muddle the picture.
      As for the Seperatists: He may have wanted to have citizens in the Outer Rim believe they were more humane by using droids, machines with limited sentience and intelligence and not literal clones who were trained for birth and predisposed to a short life.

    • @Cailus3542
      @Cailus3542 ปีที่แล้ว

      The entire war was crafted to suck the Jedi into a trap. That's why their 'enemies' were soulless droids, whom they could slaughter with a clear conscience and not question the circumstances. If either the Republic of Separatists began conscription, the other side would follow suit, which might give the Jedi a moral quandary. Palps wanted the Jedi to be complacent, to willingly go out onto those battlefields where they'd be easy fodder for the clones.

The Republic's dependence on the Jedi similarly weakened the Republic, as they became corrupt and complacent, unwilling to solve their own problems.
