The debut era of Gorillaz was so wild. They were really doing whatever they wanted as long as they could create hype around the project. I kind of love it.
The 2000s were fresh and creative in general. But them especially. They were young and full of energy and just had style. Their kong website game which is a point and click adventure they updated with the first 3 albums was unique
For some reason the scene where Damon and Jamie are being interviewed in the darkness to "remain anonymous" yet their names are still displayed is so freaking funny to me EDIT: 12:06 RIP Terry Hall, without you we probably wouldn't have Gorillaz :'(
@Elias black nope sadly.. Damon said something abt they would be doing one soon but they aren’t working on it, they were abt 5 years ago but they didn’t have enough money so it turned to a documentary, Bananaz
@@noodlesfedexbox8599 No, you're VERY mistaken, my man. That is ALL wrong. T They're literally in the process of making a Gorillaz movie with Netflix right now. That's why there's only been 1 major music video for the new album. Also Bananaz came out in like 2005. What?
I've watched this doco a million times but now I've just realised that the animator chap with his face blurred out is Robert Valley!! A sick animation director who did Zima Blue and Ice for LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS. Aswell as his sensational autobiographical short film, Pear Cider & Cigarettes! Haha
Ik he talked about his sexual assault back in pirate radio too and how it badly affected him. He goes into more detail about it there which is pretty heartbreaking and explains why he’s the way he is along with the verbal and physical abuse from his dad
@@aqua235i’m really surprised they involved her, but it’s perfect irony, her being from one of the manufactured pop groups that inspired this whole thing. It’s cool that she’s in the joke (as someone who likes a really vast array of music from different countries and time periods, i really dig S Club 7 and Rachel Stevens as well as artists who take the piss out of that sort of thing)

I like how the V.A. for Murdoc is playing the detective and therapist. What I would give for the full record of Jamie and Damon's "assault".
he was also one of the nurses
Bless Phil Cornwell ❤
I’m pretty sure Noodle’s voice actor was a nurse along side Phil

0:34 Holy crap, that's the guy who did the bad interviews with Robert Downey Jr, Quentin Tarantino, and Richard Ayoade.
Thanks for uploading this
The early 2000s were a weird time
I love the ending cos it’s the sound of 2D getting his ass beat
16:46 they really went off on Murdoc in this section lmao
(I can fix him though 🤭)
This is a fine relic from when the Gorillaz project was supposed to be a one-off thing.
Remember fucking around in the cinema on the phase 1 dvd and finding this when I was younger. Great to watch this again.
6:59 THIS HAS SUCH 'WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT' VIBES
6:23 Minecraft water noise 💀💀
Jamie should do more acting. He’s pretty good at expressing himself.
Damon and Jamie went a little crazy during this time and it shows

16:40 Paula Cracker(??)
I wondered that too, but its Rachel Stevens, 2D's other ex-girlfriend. I wonder if she voices Paula though.
