ZUN stated in an interview that the reason the PC-98 characters aren't in the newer Touhou games is because he can't find a way to fit them into the story, that's all. I don't know where this whole "Amusement Makers owns the PC-98 characters" rumor came from but it's most likely false.

If ZUN didn't own the PC-98 characters then Reimu and Marisa wouldn't even be in Windows lol.
She could fit as the creator of the Demon world he could cannonize her as being "Satan" or the Demon Queen I think it would work since she could be connected to Iesu Nazarenus who allegedly had a feud with "Satan" claiming heir disciple's soul though it is hard since he should fall under newer hell's jurisdiction but perhaps ZUN could just edit this part or add more unclarity making it possible to kidnap souls. Just my idea since her name is tied to the Devil and Death as well. Makai also could be recognized as a third "Hell" as I guess.
I imagine that’s because there’s no reasonable excuse for Child Marisa and Child Reimu to go head to head with people like Shinki without the spellcard rules.
Since if Modern Reimu(Who is definitely stronger because she always matches Marisa who trains) already needs help to beat Fused Kasen(who is probably stronger than her original self due to having her hermit powers stacked on top of her already great oni power) and Keiki. How would a weaker her fight a Goddess who singlehandedly created Makai, a *infinite* *dimension* .
@@actuallyreallybored3552 Well, one Mima noted that Shinki was surprisingly weaker than you think. Two it's Reimu and Marisa. Three it's Touhou. Four too late we still have Yuuka. Five why does everyone pretend like everyone wasn't still fighting with bullets anyways. Six if that's not enough you can always consider the theory that points out that that if you take several statements ZUN made together, the logical option chronologically would mean that spell cards have retroactively become canon during the time the PC-98 games should've occurred, if we're really going to overanalyze the canon.
My headcanon is that Shinki burned away the entire PC-98 timeline with Devil's Recitation. All the PC-98 characters except Reimu, Marisa, Alice, and Yuuka were erased from reality. And Shinki? Using Devil's Recitation drained her magic and life force to the point where she could only muster up one last nonspell, and she died from her wounds after the battle. The battle with EX-Alice takes place in the empty void left behind. Eventually the timeline returned to normal and Gensokyo reconstructed itself, which is when we start over at EoSD.

ZUN's music style is so powerful if I listen to this kind of songs at night I can hardly fall asleep. Have no clue how ZUN maintained his health after all these years

That's what I thought~ People just don't seem to understand that their favorite characters can't just pop up out of no where unless it fits with the story. I assume Yuuka was in PoFV because of her abilities with flowers, but yeah, her role wasn't all that big anyway.
He isn't entirely wrong. The characters themselves do belong to that other company. This is why ZUN made characters strikingly similar to PC-98 Era characters (Yumeko - Sakuya, etc) However, it's unknown his standing with this company and whether or not he would be allowed to use characters at his own whim.
That piano in the song was pleasant to the ear. Best remix ever!
And he was only able to use them because he was able to make evidence they were his ideas and Intellectual Property, not Amusement Makers. He couldn't for the others.
Hence the total redesigns too.
Touhou 5 in a shellnut. shinki found out she wouldn't be in touhou 14 and started a demon war. Then she got beat to a pulp by reimu. The end.
The scary thing about Shinki is that you don't defeat her, she defeats herself.

@@stripedpolkadots8692 well in the game it's theorized she overloads on power trying to defeat the player only to destroy her entire house and lose most of her power. So yea, it is pretty stupid

If you consider the danmakufu, Shinki could come back with a backstory (made by fans). And with her we could also have Yumemi, Rikako, Kana, Gengetsu, Mugetsu, Konngara, Elly, Luize. But also it could be a fighting game and be awesome

That piano... Not to say that the rest of the song isn't amazing too, though, amazing is kind of saying the least. I just really like the ending piano part, it kinda livens up the end.

well, TH6 took place sometime before 60 years after the events of TH5. Since Mima was already dead, she doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The original Hakurei is presumed to be Reimu's ancestor.
If you think about it, Mima could do something to this generation Reimu or something. But then again, I'm not Zun, and you never expect where his next game will take us!
The PC-98 world of Touhou was different, it would require a large amount of retconning to reconcile the differences.

I disagree, ZUN's style is a bit more repetative than this. This has too many minor changes in the repetitions to be ZUN's style, I feel.
