My personal favorite rig in this video is of course the old school grey screamin' Pete narrow nose. That thing is a beaut'.

I clicked on the video all because of savage, I remember when that thing was only a c class truck, and highway truck, fella named Rick Graves drove the thing for michel denomme, thing hauled ass back then, then a few years back Andre denomme ended up taking it to el rodeo du Camino, then things went all out from there

Big rig racing is the best! I bet over half these trucks would smoke my daily driver lol. My favorite would be the Ford LTL 9000!

Empty drag racing is entertaining, but I wish they’d run a lot more with the trailers. Let’s see who’s got the torque and can jam those gears the fastest!

What would you say is the best combination setup on gear ratio? For regular highway 80,000 lbs

It's of late 1960s design or very early 70s. There was a guy that had a short film on Ytube with the same truck but single drive and ran it most of his life 220 Cummins I think. You"ve seen the tri- drive B model from this channel right. Awesome 👍 truck.
What gear do they typically take off in?
Does it seem that tree counts dow way faster than a standard drag strip tree?
Any info on the "launch control/2 step" some of them are using? Also I don't understand how they're shifting so fast if you have to drop to ~1200 rpm. Could somebody explain? 🤔
They're using the Jake brake to quickly drop the rpms

What gear are these trucks leaving in to get that kind of wheel speed off the line ? Thats impressive
I'm curious what boxes they're using, faster shifts than my Datsun.
I would say most of them are 13spd or 18spd. Hard to say what gear they start in.
Most are still an 18 or 13 speed trans with more air pressure for quicker shifts.
They're probably leaving on high side in 10th gear and you can hear some of the trucks power shifting, not double clutching just shifting like a normal car.
