    If you have the huntsman with the corkscrew,you can insert a straight pin with the little ball head and it fit perfectly well when the corkscrew is closed. ATB Sam Adler from Vietnam

    Have you noticed the spring action or detent on the can opener is a bit feeble. I love victorinox knives but I have noticed this ?

      Right. And just to clarify, it is a four-syllable name, and the emphasis is on the second syllable -- Vic-TOR-i-nox.
      By the way, I own a Fieldmaster and like it.

    I read on TH-cam that people are not impressed with victorinox blade steel, they say it’s soft . What do you think 🤔 out what’s it’s strong 💪 points

      Hello Marc Dee Victorinox uses a martensitic steel variety for their Swiss Army Knives, popularly referred to as Inox. The word Inox means stainless. The alloy consists of a high percentage of Chromium which makes the steel shiny and corrosion-resistant. The steel is subjected to high-quality heat treatment to achieve the desired hardness Thank you for your interest and time please like and Subscribe if you haven't already have a great day and see you in the next video.ps the Steel is just fine I've seen these pocket knives last for years and years under constant use.

      @@darkwaternorth2867 yeah I think 🤔 the steel is perfect 👍🏻 it’s tough corrosion resistant easy to sharpen, I really love it can’t understand all the hater’s. What good is a general purpose knife that can snap or chip because it’s brittle and you need a diamond to sharpen it or it’s rust easily

    • @darkwaternorth2867
      @darkwaternorth2867  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely Marc the steel is good when you're as successful and as popular as the Swiss Army knife is there's always going to be haters it's one of those unfortunately side effects of being loved by so many,not everyone is going to see it that way. Thanks again Marc Dee.

      @@darkwaternorth2867 question, do you find on all common saks that the detent spring close of the can opener very weak, it’s always been like this on the victorinox models, do you know why ? . On the wenger models it’s good and tight. This is extreme nit picking I know just wondering if anyone else has noticed it . I’ve owned many victorinox knives in my life and continue to be a massive fan , just something I’ve noticed

      I've never noticed this particular problem but I'll pay attention and see if I can recognize it.
      Not as we speak I've not notice.

    Happy Thursday Darkwater North, I am a lifelong SAK user & collector, however I have not bought the Fieldmaster as I own several versions of the almost identical & far more popular Huntsman. The reason why I and most other serious SAK's users forgo the Fieldmaster & use the Huntsman boils down to the simple fact that the Fieldmaster is spoilt by having a Phillips screwdriver as a back layer tool & it is impractical to use the Phillips as a back layer tool. There are a number of SAK's that have Philips screwdrivers as in-line screwdrivers & they are just fine. The Huntsman has instead of the Phillips, a Corkscrew as its main back layer tool, besides using it to open wine bottles, undo knots & make screw holes in wood or holes in belts etc it is also very useful as a tool holder to hold a tinder spiral & the mini-screwdriver. I also own the 111mm Outrider which is basically a larger version of the Huntsman & adds an in-line Phillips screwdriver in the layer with the scissors . The only SAK that I own that has a back layer Philips screwdriver is the Deluxe Tinker which I bought because it has Pliers & I use it exclusively as part of my home SAK's tool kit along with the Ranger & the 84mm Watchmaker SAK . These 3 sit on my computer / work desk for home us unlike the Huntsman which is the mainstay of my EDC carry rotation.

      Awesome Thank you Steve Sinclair this information is invaluable I really appreciate it ,I forgot how the corkscrew holds other tools,My other video on the camping edition of the SAK can be expanded to include this information!. Theses Knives are excellent in so many ways.
      I'm changing up my EDC and the Fieldmaster has been added to it.
