Anyone who says the Champ can't be put in a pants pocket or isn't suitable for a EDC has never carried a mobile phone. Or keys. The Champ is an incredible feat of engineering, so compact for the versatile toolbox that it is. Using it around the house as well as during voluntary works, I'm impressed how useful each of the tools is, including the fish descaler/ruler tool. Well done Victorinox.
Bargain of a lifetime-I scored a Swiss Champ at a yard sale for $5. The guy said it was a gift for his son’s graduation, but he never used it and it sat in a drawer all these years. I researched it and it appears to be pre-1970, indicated by the steel bail, rather than the current keychain/lanyard style. It’s as close as I’ll get to one of those “Porsche in a barn” stories.
I’ve had a Huntsman for years and received a Champ as a gift about 6 months ago. It’s now my everyday carry and I only tuck my Huntsman in my pocket if I don’t want to wear the Champ in its sheath. Both are excellent and so versatile. The Champ is my dream EDC and this is an excellent video!
The stripper can be used as a wire bender....the chisel as you used it, is the scraper function...flip it, & you have the chisel function...the fish cleaning tool can be used for cutting & designing pumpkins...the tip can be used as a screwdriver for certain types of electronic equipment...nice method of opening the can...thanks...good video! Subbed....😊
I love my Champ. The fish-scaler/discorger/ruler can also be used as a scribing marker for penciling parallel lines along from the edge of a piece of wood/plastic. The U-shaped bit at the tip can steady short nails/screws for driving, too. Not a fan of the pen, though - I think it should be repurposed for something else, like nail fastenings, thread, or fishing line. Although I get the idea if in a pinch to write something. I love the pliers on it, they're perfect for jewellery repairs, fine grip, third-hand, the works. However, all this time I've been using the can opener by gradually piercing, instead of running it forward 🤦 thanks for that!
I have been carrying SAK's for 54 years, starting with a Tinker, then 39 years ago a Craftsman, and then last year, a step up to a Champion Plus. One thing I wish Victorinox would do would be putting a diamond file on one side such as Leatherman has done.
Very nice purchase, I was always swipping between the explorer (for the in-line phillips and scissors), the camper (saw), the angler (pliers), and the mountaineer (metal file), when i bougth the swisschamp, I did never need another, and the size is not THAT big, very manageable.
I've had a Swiss Champ since the late 80's. Great video, just learned about the pin recently. Was hidden away all these years, long before cell phones were invented :-)
I like the SuperChamp, as it still resonates with my inner 12 year old 😁 However, for me, it's too heavy to make for a practical EDC, so I'll stick with my weekly rotation of climber, compact & companion with plus scales for urban use. When Outdoors, I often carry a camper, huntsman, hiker, or farmer. Thanks for sharing, ATB Gus 👍🏼
Jony Fire - Enjoyed your video featuring Victorinox's Swiss Champ. Really liked how you filmed opening out the tools and segued to a functional example; and your tactful & clean use of the fishscale demo. with the toy stuffed fish had me laughing 😂. Awesome job! Love the Swiss Champ - it is so compact & versatile for the amount of tools in it... many of which can be creatively utilized for many other tasks other than the main design purpose (e.g., the multi-purpose hook can be used to easily carry bundles where handles or cordage would cut ino the hands, bend/coil wire, manipulate accommodating hardware, etc.). Happy Trails! 🇺🇸 🏕 🌲
Hi Jony. Congratulations for the channel and thanks for the video. One question. ... Which SAK model is your favorite, to carry in any situation?. Thanks
i didnt get the booklet or that nice form fitting box with mine....i just got the standard SAK grey box...... love my Swiss Champ tho.....EDC fa sho....
Totally understand! Have you checked Swiss Knife Shop (NH, USA)? Established in 2002 and family-run business. They sell Victorinox, Buck, Leatherman, Case, Böker, etc. Prices are fair, and they do run specials and discounts from time-to-time. (You can also sign up for their e-mail notices of specials & discounts.) Hope this helps... Happy Trails! 🇺🇸 🏕 🌲
I have the now discontinued Champion Plus which just lacks the pliers. I already carry a Leatherman Wave, so I have pliers, and given that you frequently need another tool such as a screwdriver to use with the pliers, having them on the SAK just makes it too bulky for my taste. That is not to say that someday I may wish I had the pliers for some delicate task which the Wave won't accomplish.
Tried most multi tools im uk champ is number one only thing comes close leatherman juice pro or xe6 i edc the champ ,champion before that and a pair of knipex xs lol😮 and whatever uk legal beauty in my rotation
Not that big at all ... I have carried a Swiss Champ or Champion in my front pants pocket for over 40 years ! ! ! ( all my Victorinox knives are PRE "pin" style ) Actually I can say I am carrying the SAME knife for all those years ... nothing other that the scissor spring has needed replaced ( like 6 times )
Ironic you're scaling a pillow instead of a fish I have never seen anybody scale of fish with one of those tools actually you're the first person I've ever actually seen use the hook removal tool I had no idea how to properly use that
Why do people make these reviews with no talking? Do they have a funny sound voice or something lol. If I come across you like this, I immediately stop and go to a different one. I just don’t get it.

Well done Victorinox.
I wear court attire everyday and carry the Champ without any problems.
I carry the cybertool L which is similar size every day, it’s very easy to carry.

I've been carrying one for a few years now as part of my EDC. I've added a large prethreaded needle under the fish scaller for emergency repairs.

If you can’t make it happen with a Swiss champ then it ain’t gonna happen…still one of the greatest multitools of all time
The fish @ 2:20 😂 excellent video as usual Jony 👍
I love these videos.
I am watching your post from Iran❤️ and the movie was awesome❤
My favourite of all multi tools - great vid thanks 👍

Been carrying that one around for over 30 years.
With the SOS Pouch.

that is the swiss army knife i dreamed to have, but it's too expensive here in the philippines

I've been waiting for this video for a long time. Thank you, Jony, for the new update. By the way, I liked the fake fish, a smart choice.
Поздравляю с отличным приобретением. С рыбой повеселил!
The victorinox swiss champ the flagship of Swiss army knifes
I love this channel
С рыбой забавно получилось😊

I HAVE THIS KNIFE AS MY EDC FANTASTIC BIT OF KIT
great knife have two like it but the magnifier is gray on mine
Попробуйте отполировать зубной пастой
I’ve been using mine since 1986

The prices have almost doubled in a year, now I am afraid of using my Swiss Champ, so I got a Handyman 😂😂😂

Wasn’t there a knife that was as essentially the handyman with backside Phillips? That’s be perfect
The price on US Amazon is still around $70 US most other the time. Abou
Victorinox Craftsman @@matthewallen1715
If the Handyman had an in-line Phillips like the Swisschamp, it would be perfect!😊
I need this!
Send us the purchase link, Jony, please
I love the fish 😂
Is the lens made out of glas or plastic? Some are, unfortunately, made of plastic.
SAK knives are the best
One of the amazing Victorinox beasts! To be practical, my Huntsman is as big as I’d go. My daily carry is the Rambler.
I would just file off the centimeter scale to save a few grams

You missed the cable ferrule crimped on the pliers
Top quality on a better than nothing tool. All multi anythings are a huge compromise right from the start
Never go back and forth with any file. They are designed to cut in 1 direction
Some chips and pillow 😋
I really like them they just doubled in price and they're huge how are you supposed to carry that comfortably personally I just carry a Leatherman
It’s around £72 on Amazon UK
Please say your not another silent bob guy
SOLD!!!!!!!!
can the end of the fish descaler be used to remove ticks?
Probably, but the grey little insert thing on the top is a tweezers
Tiene veinte funciones mas de esas que pones.
i have a swiss champ - it was a gift - it has all the tools except the hook - can anyone explain why
Tried most multi tools im uk champ is number one only thing comes close leatherman juice pro or xe6 i edc the champ ,champion before that and a pair of knipex xs lol😮 and whatever uk legal beauty in my rotation

I think if the hook is in the fishes mouth , it's also just a straight pushdown the throat to un-lodge the hook ?
