I moved to Lethbridge from France 4 months ago, Lethbridge is an awesome city with a great community. You're 1 or 2 hours drive from lot of things to do (like Waterton, the rockies ... ) I love that city !
I plan on attending The university of lethbridge as an international student , came to this video knowing nothing but now am more confident with my decision. ❤
😢 Yes I agree. I moved away from downtown because of that. But I've noticed in the last year it's gotten amazingly better and I don't know why. They didn't just shuffle people off somewhere so I'm not sure. So it is a great little city all around. 😊
Hi. Just wondering if Lethbridge bike friendly. Can see 2 parts of the city are quite far from each other. Can I manage the city by bike?. Greets from Austria. consider to come 24MAR 24 for relocation research. Thanks. Alex
I'm considering moving to AB, my concern is migraine headaches from drastic temperature changes and winds. Great video. You packed it down well. Thank you!
Really wanting to escape the ridiculous housing prices in bc. Currently living in kamloops bc and the housing market here has gotten out of control. Average house costing a whopping $650k with a population of only 100k. Lethbridge is definitely on our radar. We are really wanting to start fresh with the opportunity to give our family an affordable home. Medicine hat has also been another one to consider but i dont know alot about either city.
Totally understandable - there are a lot of people in your shoes doing the same thing - fell free to binge this channel! I have a lof of videos about Lethbridge so you can learn more!
South Alberta looks great, I am from Colombia and I got a Job in Bow Island, near Lethbridge, I am very exciting, in the future I want to visit Lethbridge and another beautiful pleaces nearby.
I think health care is pretty accessable, its pretty tough to find a family doctor, but not impossible. The hospital isn't horrible, better than the horror stories i have herd about in the bigger cities.
Good information - it's been decades since I lived in Lethbridge and I visited there a few months ago. Suggestion for the narrator....sit on your hands! The constant waving your hands in front of the camera is really annoying.
Hi Hawkins, what a great job you've been doing. Kudos to you. I was undecided on the Alberta city to move to, but after watching this vlog, I have decided to give Lethbridge a shot. But one more thing please, how robust is the job market? As I'll be searching for a job in the first week of arrival in Lethbridge. Hoping to hear from you soon. Peace✌️
@@kurtishawkins Thank you for the response. I intend to work in either the energy or manufacturing industry. So what's the prospect of securing employment sooner?
Very few white collar. Need a degree in farming technology for decent opportunities. Half the population is retired. The rest are farmers or selling agriculture equipment. Most jobs are low pay retail. Food, booze (25+ booze/ beer stores ) or clothing. Housing construction is active in South and West Leftbridge. If you're an architect , draftsman or civil engineer you might find work in construction. I spent 2 weeks with a friend that's lives there for 2 years. Absolutely nothing to do at night outside a few upscale restaurants. On Sundays, guys with old sports cars gather on the main drag parking lots for bragging rights. Zzzzz.
@@TSUNAMICali Thanks mate for your response. I knew that there were not many white collar or technology jobs there. You nailed it with accuracy by explaining what is available and not available. This should give people an idea of what to expect in Lethbridge if they desire to move there.
I believe i mentioned that Lethbridge has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Alberta. One of the TOP employers in Lethbridge is Albert Health Services!
@@kurtishawkinshi Kurtis I’m planning to visit lethbridge and medicine hat between march 29 and April 1st…me and my wife are planning to sell our house in Ontario and move to Alberta permanently..any recommendations what to look for in the area to make up our mind.. Thank you
yes - check out all the videos on my channel to learn more about lethbridge - I don't have anything about medicine hat.. its a great city. But a lot smaller with fewer amenities.
The biggest con for me has to do with your point about population. If you need any kind of specialist, you'll likely have to go to Calgary. This can be huge problem when you have a sick/dying pet or a car that is breaking down and can't handle the road trip.
Don't forget the vehicle transfer tax in BC. The Provincial Govt likes to label it as PST on vehicles but its not. It's a 12% transfer tax on the purchase of USED vehicles even if you purchase the vehicle from out of Province and bring it into BC. Imagine if you had to pay 12% tax for buying your neighbour's washing machine. Well you will if you buy his car!
@@kurtishawkins I've decided to be moving to Lethbridge. It's literally my #1 choice. I hope the economy picks up again soon so I can make my way there.

Is there any place for forklift operator in this city?

that shouldnt be a problem here, there are quite a few transport companies in lethbridge!
@@kurtishawkins what about warehouses??
Thanks! I feel like a lot of these also apply to Medicine Hat where I’m planning on moving from BC this summer
Accept for what I said about oil and gas - Medicine Hat is smaller as well. Pros and cons to each
Medicine Hat is great to but a little older style.
Pro or Con depending on how to look at it, Heavy Christian Population, especially on the south side
