  • The famous 🇬🇧British colonialist, Cecil John Rhodes is buried in the Matobo hills. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rhodes’s ⚰grave sits atop a granite hill known to local inhabitants as “Malindidzimu,” a Khalanga word which translates to 👉“the hill of benevolent spirits”.
From the grave, there is an awe-inspiring 360°💟 view in every direction of the Matobo Hills. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💂Rhodes spent many an afternoon💭 pondering life’s great questions at this exact spot which he called “A view of the world.”
    ⠀⠀
It’s easy to see why the most powerful man in Africa,🌍 at the time, chose to be buried here.
Will the panorama💥 have the same effect on you?

Fixing and mounting railway lines was not for you and me, our forefathers, it was so he could loot our minerals, send them to the cape, and then ferried to England.
I wonder how some of our people celebrate these people that did all sorts of henious crimes to acquire our land

Despite everything and his mistakes and exploitation of the region, he promoted and established an infrastructure which goes to show that not everything about colonialism was bad.
