Great dynasty of the Matabele kingdom? Yeah. A real paradise. Had Rhodes not come then the Shona and Matabele would have joined together in brotherly love, become a world beating economy and would probably be sending rockets to Mars by now.

Yeah fr man, it’s as the meme when the Dutch arrived in the cape
“Why are you so poor?” They asked the Khoisan
They said “it’s gonna be your fault”

Christendom and Western Civilization's imprint on the world is so dark.
The legacies and remnants still withstand to this day. Particularly in non-white communities.
The fetal alcohol syndrome, the unemployment,
all the addictions, the mass incarceration, the poverty, and so much more. Not only were cultures and communities disintegrated and destroyed, but so too were natural ecosystems.
The imperialist zeal at the rotten core of Christendom and Western Civilization has been a plague to mother earth and her peoples.

We certainly are doing a biography on King Lewanika. The King felt deceived by the BSAC, yet again.

Rhodes was a great man. Greed? He lived a very simple personal life and spent most of his vast fortune on the education of others in a future he would never live to see. Before the pioneer column arrived, Rhodesia had been a land of massive population decline, famine, slaughter, and slavery with chiefs who had power over life for which they showed contempt and brutality. There were no roads, schools, clean water supplies. No writing systems or wheel.

Yeah they don’t want to hear about that though. It’s easier for them to blame others for the basket case that is Africa

Zimbabwe was stolen and the descendants of the settlers and occupiers were sent packing over a hundred years later. That’s it in a nutshell. It’s a classic…the sins of the fathers…. Story

What about the khoi San being driving out and killed by the now shona ? Followed by the matabele subduing the shona with raiding hut tax killing and control followed by the bsap stopping the annihilation of the shona by the matabele... your right settlers played a part but which settlers ? Shona matabele or british ? Or all ?
