Going without power steering only really sucks in tight spaces.
That would be Armstrong power steering...
I deleted the PS in my mk3 jetta 2.0. It really wasnt awful. As soon as i was going over ~10 mph it was barely noticable

The unique sound of VR6 has to do with intake and exhaust port lenghts. Three cylinders have shorter exhaust ports (longer intake) and the other three have longer exhaust ports (shorter intake).
A similar thing is done with Subaru's boxer engine, but with the exhaust manifold, where two cylinders have a longer exhaust pipe than the other two cylinder and thus making the iconic boxer rumble.

Sounds great. I can’t wait to put my VR6 in my ‘92 Cabby. Don’t care if it’s not the fastest. Sounds absolutely awesome in these cars and yes they move plenty fast compared to the 1.8L turd they came with in the MK1.

Mods are in the description. The exhaust is just an eBay header with a 3" aluminum cat-back (no catalytic converter and a small Magnaflow muffler at the rear). The reason the sound in the video is so strong is due to the fact that I have an external mic connected to the camera that I hooked up on the rear bumper aimed at the exhaust tip.

I had an hand made pipe on my old vr6 and it was pretty quiet..it had an electronic port ,when the pressure gets to high it dumps it down the main pipe (straigt)
just like an rs3 or 6 with adaptable exhausts !
Andrew van Leeuwen well if the pipe is similar in diameter, the exhaust scavenging effect would be about the same
I have had a mk4 GTI and a 2nd gen CC with VR6. Not very fast, but the sound is worth it alone. They are also very reliable and cheap.

+Nicholas Snodgrass This video was done with a custom 3" Aluminum exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler and one of those cheap, crappy eBay headers.. I've since switched it to a simple 2.5" Techtonics Tuning system.

2.9 VR6 (ABV motor code) has 190 cv. Top the top is VR6 VSR (super unicorn car)
Hey is there no power steer in the car just asking because it looks like trouble steering, my mk5 power steer went on me and idk how to fix it can someone help
I removed the power steering system and converted the rack to manual. To fix yours, you either need fluid in the system, need a new pump, or need a new rack.

2.9L Vr6 only making 160whp?
In australia we modify Daihatsu's with 660cc 3cyl to make 120whp. Some 1L 3cyl make 150whp.
It's a stock engine designed in the late 80's, early 90's... no one made a ton of power then. I've got a modern 2.0L VW diesel that makes just as much power and twice the torque. I've also got a 15 year old 2.0L Saab engine making over 400whp; it's not a dick measuring contest, it's just a fun car that makes fun noises.

It's a 12v VR6 out of a 1995 Passat, so it's an OBD1 coilpack car.
I think its very funny to drive with this type of car driving in the us, i think they dont use to it
