    Am happy to see and know that Nigeria is already keying in on this technology. This goes to show that if our government for focus on technology, Nigeria will be better for it and will indeed lead the black race in technology. More so, this is a sign of good things to come in Nigeria. To cap it up your channel is one out of many to first of all promote electric car in Ernest. I really did not know that we have companies in Nigeria who are already manufacturing electric cars in Nigeria. Thanks for sharing David. God bless you.

    🇳🇬 Nigeria is getting really industrialized or should I say is industrialized and a manufacturer of many things like vehicles, military vehicles, navy ships and light helicopters etc. So much talented entrepreneurship too. Glad to see so many different countries in Africa being increasingly successful and really industrialized ... and "green" esp as there is plenty of free energy as in sunlight for solar-power in northern Nigeria 🇳🇬 😀.

    Yessss... I'll definitely get an electric car if I had the funds to do so. What people don't realize is that paying electric bills to charge the vehicles in Nigeria is far cheaper than purchasing gasoline or diesel and because there are far less parts, they are less likely to break down when compared to gasoline-powered cars. So even if these EVs are more expensive, the long-term costs are far lower than conventional gasoline-powered vehicles.
    This video was really well-made. It gives me a little hope that Nigeria is headed in the right direction, at least in a few areas.

    I remember SA's first EV was a locally made MPV called the Optimal Energy Joule - it was back before even Tesla was mainstream. The first foreign EV was the Nissan Leaf, followed very closely by the Jaguar iPace, Aude e-tron and all that other German garbage. Goes to show how these manufacturers see different markets.

    Thank you David for this wonderful information. Nigeria should invest more in technology as the world evolves with it. Electric vehicles EV is currently 15% of China's automobile and that percentage is expected to double by 2025. Automobile companies in Nigeria "Innoson, Nord etc" should start delving into this innovative for their future production. Looking forward to more informative videos from you David. Good job.

      Don’t deceive yourself oh! Bad roads are a problem mostly in the south!
      The northern states have put building roads behind them!
      It’s only governors in the south , particularly south east and south west who all act like emperors that are still shouting “ fedraaal roads , fedraaal roads”!!!
      Akwa Ibom and Crossriver have made much more efforts to build main and feeder roads in their states, regardless of whether a road is deemed federal or not!
      As for Lagos state, the supposedly 5th largest economy in Africa ( yeah right), they are the biggest jokers!

    Interesting video and great to see advances in EV in Nigeria. But I wonder if we are putting the cart before the horse. There are few places you can comfortably drive your EV without having to think about the state of the roads. I think we need good road networks to drive cars to begin with! I’m not even going into electricity availability.
    In your video you state that the car can be charged with a powerful generator, isn’t this ironic? EV is meant to be sustainable but yet one needs to purchase and burn diesel to charge the car.
    Suffice to say electric cars like most other things in Nigeria will be out of reach for the majority even seemingly comfortable folks with the price tags quoted. Is the government going to provide some tax relief? Ah pardon me, what a silly question…..!
    So if I was resident in Nigeria I won’t be investing in an EV yet as there is still soooo much to do. I live in England and although the infrastructure to support EV is available, it’s not enough…. In Nigeria, the infrastructure is barely there.

    • @DavidNkwa
      @DavidNkwa  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great Submission Sir. But if Solar charging systems are implemented all around the country as planned, it will be easy. even in most homes today people use Solar instead of generators because of the abundant sun in Nigeria. As for the road, well the EV is the same as other cars, so it will survive. However, for the road in Abuja is perfect for any car. Other states too have good road, especially in the GRA's

    • @crystalclear336
      @crystalclear336 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DavidNkwa thanks for your response. But if I want to drive my EV car from Lagos to Benin (which is doable with a fully charged vehicle like the Hyundai one in your video), but to somewhere with roads that are not great?
      What I am trying to highlight is that we need the basics before we start punching for lack of a better phrase “above our weights “. We need basic well maintained road network and good electricity supply before we start leaping on to the EV bandwagon.
      I guess for now most will watch the wealthy drive their EV cars around town till it is within touching distance of the above average folk.

      It is not very efficient in a country like our with poor infrastructure in all aspects. When many vehicles are hooked to the grid or solar power system then we will start to have problems like the ones with old NEPA. We cannot supply power for our consumers in the first place.
