      Glad to help. I'm going to make some adjustments to the videos soon. Going to take some time to redo the intro and make the video quality better. I have a lot of good information. I just need to figure out how to get it on video and have it be good quality.

      Tattoo University I wanted to get one of them blue rotary machines. I like coil but a plastic Swiss style rotary would be light and a dream if it ran good lol I have one of those power supply with the gold lion on it and they're sweet . the most popular tattoo supply stores have all the same China shit and triple the prices lol I'm down with the knock off cyclone 360 for $20 but ink and all has to be tops. monstersteel has everything at cool prices . eternal,extenze,moms,starbrite everything it's sweet. I'm in a phase where I wanna educate myself on the hardware aspect of things and I'm learning a lot from your videos I dig it man il let you know in comments as I watch your stuff what I learned

      Use bright purple in your black ink for dark skin. It makes the black ink pop more.

    what is the switch for on the back of my power supply? it says 110v and 120v? I can switch between the two

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on where your at and how your electricity is set up. America uses 110 so you would put it on there. In other countries their electricity is set up differently so you would switch it.

      @@TattooUniversity what's your favorite type of machine and what is the brand name of your favorite coil your favorite rotary in your favorite pen machine

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeremiahwhite6872 My favorite machines are the ones I get from builders. I like knowing the machine has not been mass produced and has a little character. There has been some thought into the building of the machine. Those are usually coil machines. My favorite rotaries are ones that give you a lot of control. I like give clips and machines with different adjustments. This way I'm not a slave to the machines settings.

      @TattooUniversity  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeremiahwhite6872 As far as pens go I haven't really found one that I liked. They work good and can do some good shading. The ones I have used only have one setting and weren't adjustable. That is one of the things I don't like so I will continue looking for a pen that I do enjoy using.

    Thanks for the great info. I am just getting into tattooing and I have two guns, one that is marked and the other isn't. I reversed the wire hookup on the unmarked one and it seems to me to be running better. Thanks

      Sometimes just taking them apart and putting them back together correctly fixes the problem.

    yes! about 20 years ago or so. I had another artist that I worked with that I kept telling him that he needed a clipcord that had positive and negative. so that way he knew which way to hook it up and he always said it didn't matter and that he'd been doing that for years. well one day, he was tattooing and sure enough it popped! it was loud too! careful

      Yes, it will send your tattoo machine to an early grave

    • @TattooUniversity

      The irratating thing is getting machines that are set up differently. Then you have to remember which one is set up pos to the rear or neg to the rear. Those damn rotaries are all set up differently. Would be nice if everyone got on board and put the pos to the rear post.

    don't you need a capasitor for every tattoo machine?

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You actually don't need one, but they run better with one. You also don't get shocked as much.

    • @docholiday7973
      @docholiday7973 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tattoo University so is there different size capacitors you use? and I'm guessing that you run your coil wire to the capacitors and then to the rear and front binding posts correct?

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I posted a video on tattoo capacitors. You should watch it.

    I seen a video of you saying you draw how you tattoo and tattoo how you draw can you make a video of you drawing with that middle finger technique you do

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The middle finger is mostly for stabilizing your hand and the tattoo machine. Mostly talking about shading techniques like cross hatching. Hand movements like whip shading. After drawing a lot of tattoos with bold lines you start seeing a lot of bold lines in your artwork. Things of that nature.
