    Hey nick, i'd like to know what decides the angle of the contact screw. I'm having a hard time to understand how i decide the springs lenght and thickness. Does that have anything to do with the angle of the contact screw?

    OMG I'm really learning this. UGH. I feel nauseous. The dream...is it supposed to be intense? And if yes...does that mean I should tattoo with Intenze
    It is so hard to aim for something higher...to be better than the average tattooer...it takes a lot of chutzpah.

    The nickel and dime width is actually the "gap" in armature bar as its running. A different frame style will totally throw you off is you depend on using that distance in just the space between the spring and contact screw. In other words hold a nickel or dime to the side of the armature bar as your machine is running, you'll clearly see what looks like two armature bars and That's your stroke length

    But you often shade, whilst color packing...
    Using 2 different machine for those purpose, is alot of hazzle? What is your opinion on this?

      Depends on the artist and their techniques. If you are getting good quality then do it. I personally like to use machines set up to do a specific job because it is easier to work with. You don't need to force it. Just makes your job easier

    Hi, love your vidéos. sorry for my english, i'm french, Québec. I am a fan of your vidéo. I understand all of your stuff, but in this video, 101, that i think his for newcommers, do'nt you think you should start by explaining what his the difference between a heavy and a soft spring. I have cut so many skin whit the original springs on my coil machine before i understood the difference, and i use Mickey Sharpz machine. The most difficult thing for me to learn whas when do i know when i have to much tension on my springs. Thanks to you now i know what tattoing like a ninja means.

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are more videos coming. Put a thinner spring on the machine or put it to the side and push down on it. This will take out some of the tension.

    I reached these numbers, but when I placed the needle, the numbers decreased, and I could only control the duty it is very difficult and almost impossible. What do you think of this? and thank you

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Set it up while the needle is on the machine. Once the machine is running it will also need enough voltage to work correctly. Does it run correctly when you turn up the voltage?

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it isn't a voltage issue I would adjust the springs. Also make sure springs are nice and tight so they don't move. Anything comes loose and the machine will go out of tune

    Hey nick! I'm not english and i don't understand the concept of throw, what is that ?

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Throw or stroke is the distance the needle travels. When the armature bar is all the way up until it is all the way down. Adjust this to work with your ink. Thin ink doesn't need a lot of throw. Thick ink allows needle to get in that ink more and get it in the skin
