I ran away from Seattle back in 1996 to Kuala Lumpur and love my retirement just chilling and living the good life for the past 28 years on MM2H. Good video and right on. I was the first batch of passport bros to bail out.
I'm a truck driver and I'm in Tacoma Washington as we speak you did the right thing they are raising the rates on everything if you get a soda or a soda pop regular size 12 oz it is $5 for a bottle of Coke or pop😮😮😮 I'm in a Motel as we speak La Quinta in Tacoma Washington it is costing me $150,00. a night 😮😮😮😮😮
@@johnwelch3016 I know the hotel you’re staying at. I grew up in Olympia WA. It’s time to bail bro
Haha that’s great !
I’m glad you found happiness

I too was in the computer business for 15 years, worked 12 to 14 hours a day for 10 years, lived a clean life, retired at age 49, now my wife and I travel the world
This is wonderful
Yes, I saw AI coming for my job and I had to work, invest, and adapt quick
So safe and clean....
Yes true
Well kept
People care about their city here
Very nice to see :-)
@@RetireandGo Have you been to Los Angeles or San Francisco lately? You won't even recognize them any more. Just third world slums.
I was just there in the park the other day and it is beautiful and very calming in the morning. I saw a lot of people jogging, walking as well.
It’s a lovely walk :-)
Master Communicators exude confidence, personal power, magnetism, natural charm and they communicate with elegance and precision, you Sir are a Master Communicator, absolutely invested in your message. Keep Going! Its all appreciated-. Clear and concise, awesome footage.
Very kind
A big thank you for this
Thanks for teaching north americans about travel, cost, family, investment
You are most welcome
It’s a wonderful travel experience to share
I admit the first time I checked out your channel a month ago I was like... "oh here we go again..." "Another tuber regurgitating the same old same old, and showing us how awesome his life is while ours sucks." I kept watching, and realized that is not who you are, and you are genuinely trying to help people escape their chains in the easiest way possible. You aren't exploiting the bar girls for ten times the views, or using clickbait thumbnails. You are actually doing exactly what I'm planning to do right now. I'm still 4 years out, because I have 26 years towards a 30 year railroad pension being locked in. (at 51 years old at that time) I can't collect it until I'm 60, but if you think I'm giving them another 9 years so that I can afford to live in the US for $10k per month, you would be wrong. I'll cut my cost down to $1500-$2500 a month and hit the road! Always look forward to your videos now, because you cover the real topics, not just the daydream stuff. You've done your homework, and learned a lot of shit the hard way already for us. Keep them coming!
I really appreciate this thank you
I try to keep it real and show my costs
And yes for sure no exploitation
I have two daughters and a son that watch my videos :-)
That's exactly where I'm at 1,500 a month top in 2300 a month that's what I'm looking at I agree with you Mr Railroad Man😂😂😂 I'm in the process of selling my house as we speak and trying to go enjoy what little life I have left😢😢😢 but I'm going to 66 and 8 months old that's it😢 I don't want to leave without my full pension from Social Security 401K I've been had that but I can't leave without Social Security I don't like going back and forth😂😂
"You aren't exploiting the bar girls for ten times the views."
TH-cam is without any morals or ethics allowing this.
Some of the creepiest Vloggers are even filming with hidden cameras in clubs where filming is not allowed in order to protect the poor girls. Some of the girls are clearly underage...TH-cam couldn't care less.
I'm getting closer to like you , you're so smart and simple in nature worth listening its make ones to start really think of the future ,thanks buddy, the way you're going already shows that you doing a brilliant moved👍
The main thing is that you are inspired to live a better life
Then I have done what I set out to do
1. Crime
2. High cost of living
3. A.I.
That’s the reality ! Yep
Fantastic again 😊 You are a great motivator. Thank you for your time
Thank you !
I appreciate your time
You can live easily when you've 1.500 dollars every month in Thailand, Vietnam, Maleisia, Cambodia and The Philipines

You're one of my heroes that inspired me to travel more. I'm in KL right now and I think I was at KLCC park possibly on the same day you were filming or a few days before. Thanks for putting out this content, I hope it inspires more men to dare to experience a new country.
This is wonderful to read!
I’m so happy you were inspired to travel !
This is my main mission
Brother, you’re living the dream, so many guys rushed to find somebody in Southeast Asia next thing you know they’re with them 24 seven and they’re Mind And they’re paying for everything Enjoy your life
Yeah, everyone is looking for something
I’m actually enjoying the time getting to know myself for a few years :-)
Very interesting perspective on AI. I want nothing to do with it. So I found your perspective of surfing the wave of AI especially interesting. Thank you for sharing.
You are most welcome. :-)
Aloha, another thing I love about Southeast Asia is the service you receive. Just fly any Asian carrier, then compared to a US carrier, and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Oh yes
Asian airlines treat you like a human
And a valuable customer
@@RetireandGo You can even see it at the 7-11's or any restaurant you visit. Back in Hawaii, there are signs in the front of the restaurant explaining to expect crap service due to "being short-staffed" . In Kona, fast-food restaurants hire homeless people and pay them daily wages. Yea, real bad. So glad I left. Love Asia!
Another great video, you sound like a different version of me lol

Always love it when you are in my fav place, KL. Its been a while since i caught up with your vids. You look just as good as ever. Congratulations on having grown your subs so much
I really do enjoy visiting Malaysia

Aloha. You’re looking well for sure. Yes, we were in VN, Cambodia and Thailand and everything was affordable and people in SE Asia are working very hard. Teenager to elderly. Saw some elderly with tiny bodies and carry lots of stuff on their shoulders to sell either a homegrown or homemade food in the hot sun. 😂brought me to tears 😭. we will try to avoid the hot month of May for travel in the future. I found Bangkok that not too many can speak English so we had a little issue with language barrier and the sign read wasn’t easy to remember. We are in Bangkok Chinatown, busy amid lively with all vendors and tourists.😀. Thanks for a great video. We enjoyed your education conversation. 👍Aloha
Thank you for this comment!
Yes I think I’ll refine to three main destinations in 2025
What are your thoughts for best three livable destinations?
We love Vietnam more than others. Just because I'm from VN, little easy to maneuver things around and still speak the language even though I left the country since 1975. I preferred Vietnamese food too. Love Pho and Bánh Mì too. My best choice are. Vietnam, 2nd Cambodia and 3rd Thailand.
The AI investing is great advice thanks👍
Well I can’t advise I can just say what I do haha
one dif I noticed when I lived in Korea and Japan is that they enforce their laws, even the small laws and the we doesn't. today, in the US, the criminals have the rights and millions of people to support them and fight for killers, pedos and rapists and the victims are utterly ignored or blamed.
Unfortunately you are right
2 things bad about SE Asia. The heat and pollution.
Yes those are both there for sure
I agree with the last post and what your (and the east) philosophy

Another top video! I have been asked the same question as we tell family/friends about our retirement plans. We look at it as what we are running to not so much as running from. To us it feels as a calling in the 2nd half of our life.

interesting comment about IA. just imagine million will loose their job. For sure it will impact the society around the world.

Aloha to you !
I have a rental property almost mortgage free, i was going to keep renting as Toronto rents are high
That’s a top market !
So are you saying sell or keep renting
Never been to Malaysia, Thailand 9 times, Cambodia, Vietnam and Philippines. We have 2 million in passive income (7% ROI, plus uptick in stock value), plus Canada pensions at age 65 of @$2400 a month, if you spend less than you make you will have a good retirement, hard to feel sorry for people with poor financial planning, and bad health decisions, alcohol, cigarettes and processed food will kill you, poor financial planning will kill retirement, live below your means, eat healthy food, live longer without health issues, and be able to travel the world, not a complicated concept, most will only be able to dream about travelling and be without health problems, very sad
You have some great Cambodia experience!
Disclaimer: haven't watched video yet. I'd be interested to see you talk about how we will need to find purpose and meaning in SE Asia. "Retirement" can be problematic when a person cannot create a new "balance" with all the new 'free' time. I know some fall into excess drink and all that. You work your ass off with these vids and the payout is meaning and purpose I assume. What do the rest of us do?

finding something philanthropy that may help kids in need while traveling I have thought of, ie, create a template website which sells kids paintings online and have those funds forwarded to them for their needs like clothing, school materials...of course art lessons and material's would have to be provided to the youths...how expensive could that be? not much , anyway, helping others is a way out of becoming bored in paradise travel...it's something I've fought: self vs self...
@@rgg7260 I have thought of that. One of the Dumagete TH-camrs once featured an Expat that was doing a lot of philanthropy. He has his own Channel. The disparity in annual incomes definitely makes it possible to do it. I think this guy helps Expats too.
@@oceanearth2243Sure just be aware of the laws!
nahh man... i think the ai train is real but it almost reached its peak. i think it's better to invest in gold right now especially with the US debt in record high and the feds cutting the interest rate near future. i got into newmont (NYSE NEM) last month, about 2 weeks before it's earnings. the return is about 20% but i also invest in other stocks which lose quite a lot hehe. but yeah i think for the next 2 years gold/miners are going to give much better return especially when the feds starts cutting interest rate.

What is the hotel you found for $500 a month including utilities? That is a really good find. I'm thinking I should give it try it myself. I searched extensively and could not find any place for monthly rental within walking distance of the central area for less than about $650. Additionally, the different places I've been staying since arrival have had a lot of problems, sometimes very serious problems, and management does not seem to take maintenance seriously. If things are broken, they don't want to fix them. In my current place the dryer is broken and they told me to just dry things on the rack outside. That's fine for light clothing but as you know in this humidity there are some things that just won't dry well outside. I also have had a hard time finding quiet places. Where I am now there is very loud noise from the nearby freeway and it gets especially bad at night. I'm often awakened at night by those souped up motorcylces that make an insane amount of noise which race down the freeway all night long - and this is despite having all windows closed, wearing good quality earplugs, and using a white noise machine to try and block noise!! Is this place you're at now good and free of these kinds of problems? I really need a better option when my rental ends here.
Yes, I found three low cost hotels in KL
They are in the videos I do a review, footage and prices :-)
Really enjoy the vids my friend. I have been looking at apartments in KL but was wondering about month long hotel stays also. $500-700 per month would be right up my lane. Are there any month long hotels that you would recommend. Love to come over and just try it out before getting into a long term apartment lease. Thanks for any hep! Jim
Yes it’s a good way
And you can try a few towns
I’m from Ohio and I have been traveling since 2019 my wife and I and we been to KL 5 times stayed 90 days twice and loved it and also been to other east Asia countries but we love to live Malaysia but long term visa is a issue in Malaysia! What is your suggestion for longtime visa? God bless!!
Great question and I love that you two have had these trips !
I like to travel and I don’t want tax issues so I use only visitor visas
I’m open to longer ones if there are no tax implications
I can only confirm from my own experience of living in KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, how good the quality of life / price ratio is. But for crime, even though I agree and it is true, crime here is rare in comparioson to "The West' ( I am from Northern Europe), it is not due to law enforcement. In my opinion the one thing missing here in Malaysia, is law enforcement. There is hardly any surveillance, there is hardly any police in public places and when you do need them, they are hiding and ducking down their tables in their poorly maintained police stations. Only when you drive your car along the roads, you may suddenly be stopped by them and asked to pay for speeding, which you probably even didn't. Corruption in the police force, targeting foreigners, is rampant and it is well known.I do think the main reason why there is low crime (there is some crime, be aware), is cultural: Malaysians are so tolerant, respectful and hospitable. Like most Asians they are not confrontational, they do not intend bad. Of course there is less visible crime, such as petty theft, drug abuse, burglary and scamming (a lot of scamming, mind you), but in general the streets are safe and you won't be bothered.
I really appreciate this comment!
Thank you for your feedback

Why cant you talk bout how much cost to travel and live in kuala Lumpur???
I cover it in the Malaysia videos and remember, at the end of every month I will do a 30 day cost video :-)
What a lovely day and a wonderful walk in the parks and gardens around KL, they are simply beautiful, ideal for walking, jogging, 'running', setting your mind for the day.
It is a nice area to start the day. :-)
@@RetireandGo Yes, it is, KLCC always makes me feel good watching people enjoying their time at the park or just watching the Petronas Twin Towers. It's been a worthwhile experience working with the KLCC project team from the foundation work to completion of the project. 😀
I appreciate your authenticity and honesty. Thank you for creating this refreshing channel and being so consistent with your video releases. I truly enjoy your content.
Thank you for these kind words
You are most welcome
Could you name the hotel, or at least the deal you made
Absolutely
I show each hotel inside and prices
They are in the Malaysia videos :-)
You will find all three ok?

My father , who was a man of few words, took me aside back in 1972 finishing high school and suggested I go into this computers thing ( in his own words)..He worked in a major newspaper company in Montreal and also saw the writing on the wall..Maybe I should listen to you and mention the AI investment route to my advisor..Thankyou for the scoop..
Well I would consider some AI involvement
It’s a revolution occurring
Running from inflation !!
I ended up buying a few of the dividend stocks you mentioned. So far so good
I’m glad to see you are building your future ! Nice
My escape or running from Europe is the high cost of living, running away from my stressful job and of course the cold long wintertime! As you say, f.ex. living in SEA is by far more enjoyable and affordable, i have great hotels with nice rooms, restaurants, food, healthcare (tooth cleaning), beauty treatements (massage, face etc.) and i feel my energy is coming back, i fill up my power and my love for traveling. Another good content to make me and all thinking about why we do what we do ? Aloha, thank you, stay great and enjoy Life ! ❤😊👍
I appreciate this
Yes the costs pushed me away from my own home
I escaped the contentiousness, high costs, negativity, disrespect and discord in the US. So happy, at peace, fully alive, vibrant and engaged with my life in SE Asia. Great to get TH-cam channels on AI you mention and more from you in the future 🙏🏼
Thank you so much
A better future for us
