Ellen Degeneres has been at the heart of primetime TV ever since The Ellen Show debuted in 2007. Since then, the star has gone from strength to strength, interviewing everyone from reality TV stars to A-list celebrities. Ellen Degeneres and Portia De Rossi even appear on the show side by side on occasion. Despite her status, the star is often at the center of a lot of rumors that claim she isn’t as nice as she appears. Could Ellen’s demeanour be a smokescreen, or is it all a big misunderstanding?
TH-cam sensation Nikkie de Jager has claimed Ellen was cold and rude when she appeared on the show, and she allegedly sacked her cast and crew in favor of new ones during lockdown. As well as this, she didn’t support her writers during the 2007 strike and has butted heads with some big names, like Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers, and Caitlyn Jenner over the years. While we like to believe that The Ellen Show really is the place that dreams are made of, it seems that Ellen is living a little bit of a double life. Let’s not forget that there was also a Twitter movement with thousands of people coming forward to tell their own stories about Degeneres’ behavior, and she defended Kevin Hart over his Oscars controversy when many wanted her to speak out against him. Can Ellen be forgiven for her transgressions, or is all just Hollywood gossip?

One episode, I remember everyone watched Tony fall off a bar stool that had been placed on a narrow platform because, basically, Ellen scared the shit out of him, one of her favourite pastimes. It happened fast but what no one expected was for him to careen off the stool from fright. The poor guy was inches from falling off the platform itself, onto the stage floor. It was a close-call. He could have broken his back. I sat frozen to the couch, eyes bulging from their sockets, mouth dropped in mute horror. It was fucking horrible.
But everyone laughed, you could guarantee that. The audience. Ellen. And Tony, even if he was seeing stars. But his eyes told a different story. A real mix of humiliation and shock and a Screw this, I’m out of here sort of look.

I believe because she had been an activist for LGBT rights and even when Caitlyn Jenner was making homophobic assumptions (although both Ellen and Caitlyn are in the LGBT community) Ellen was very offended by Caitlyn's words and defended the LGBT community, and suddenly she is supporting Kevin Hart's homophobic statements?
She was speaking on behalf of the entire LGBT community, she can forgive him personally back stage but can’t speak for all of us saying ‘we forgive you.’

Yes but if you look at what she did to NikkiTutorials that's not over reacting. There was this entire bathroom thing where she said she couldn't use the one closest to her because it was reserved for the Jonas Brothers, who I really doubt would care if she used the same bathroom.
Then the whole thing about not paying her crew while we have to stay at home and only using like 4 of them. Almost every other host is still using there crew or at least majority of them. Kimmel paid his crew out of his own pocket. Ellen and Kimmel are both LOADED. So if he can do it why can't she? Well forgive me if I'm wrong but from what I've heard I think it's because she stood up for Kevin Hart when he said homophobic comments while she talked against Caitlyn Jenner for being not yet open for gay marriage because Jenner was a "traditionalist" back then. Then there she goes saying that she accepts every people no matter the difference or different opinions during the Bush incident so maybe that's why it was problematic because many people saw her as having double standards? I don't know.
