@@joaquingonzalez834 Aerodynamics, chassis rigidity, tires, brakes, suspension, transmission...50 years of advances in every aspect comes into play for the 963 to beat it.
But even so, if this race had been in the old Le Mans circuit, with no chicanes, I think the results would've been slightly different...😉

@@Roddy_ZehEven so, despite most of La Sarthe being like 2 to 3 pure straights, trust me, if a car was based both on aerodynamics, and engine power, probably some adjustments in the electric power, and also some god tier grip like a formula 1 wheels, it gets obliterated no matter how much power or aerodynamics you try add to the base chasis or the base engine of the Can/Am, it just gets totally destroyed with no possibilities of recovering at any time, specially if the car could casually pull unrealistically 100km/h in a curve you can only take at either 40-60km/h max, the g-forces + the aerodynamic job + angle of steering would just be unbeatable and that Can/Am would have no match against whatever unlimited/unrestricted car, no, monster, was created, maybe even rivals with the Porsche 919 Tribute Evo
Amazing, just goes to show power without control means nothing even on a circuit like that, its all about balance or compromise depending on way you look at it. These videos really demostrate that. Keep up the fantastic work👍

Bugatti bolide. Has 1600 horsepower. And is heavy as fck. It's just unnecessary to have that much power. You won't need it through the corners. Also in case it's not heavy you're still not benefiting. You could see out the corners the Porsche 963 out accelerated the 917/30 despite the 1000 more horsepower because it has hybrid power. Also reliability. That thing will absolutely drain fuel wich is probably the number 1 factor.

@@brolo7234Nowadays we could make a racecar have 3000horsepower. But it's dangerous, useless and straight up a death wish.
the thing is we dont need that much power, maintaining speed is faster on most circuits than having a ridiculously powerful engine but not enough grip to put that power down. sure having 1600 horsepower is cool and all but you also need a car that has the downforce and grip to handle that power and powerful engines use a lot of fuel which is not exactly what you want in an endurance race
@@OscarZheng50 true I’m not saying drop the downforce, just increase the power. LMPH, LMDH, F1 and other categories have artificial caps on engine performance. F1 is fuel flow/ energy density. LMPH/DH has kilowatt limit. Which if we’re lifted they’d go WAAY faster. And as far as endurance racing the teams would figure out a way to get the most power while also finishing.

That was before the turbo era. They used the FW07 chassis a lot of years

AC's AI is awful at overtaking. It would take it a ful lap to pass each car
@@THEWINDTUNNEL Then make it start in first, but not second for no reason. Have you turned up aggressiveness up to 100%? That helps sometimes. Also if the car in front is much slower the ai does overtake quite quickly. I mean just having the fastest car start in first is quite pointless and not very entertaining to watch. The faster the further back they should start. But this is just pointless to watch. Might as well do a hotlap comparison
