Bandit vxl for the Win.Anacondas & required wheely bar 55- 56 mph Drag car appeal or Sand buggy look, you pick + the wheels are in proportion to most others , a more Scale look. Also, the huge wing & high front shock towers along with exposed wheels keeps your roof & sides from any scratches. im no basher, God forbid. lol. ( RPM shock towers , a great inexpensive mod. )
I've wanted to get the Bandit for quite a while but always end up buying something else instead. The rear wheel drive cars like the Rustler and the Bandit have a lot of understeer which is probably what's preventing me from getting it. I also have been wanting the Rustler 4x4 as well, but same thing as the Bandit. The 4x4 does have better handling in the loose stuff than the Rustler 2wd or the Bandit. I imagine one day I'll get the two, but there is a lot of other RCs that are higher priority. I am definitely running low on space to keep my collection and I might have to convert the room in my basement into an RC room. Lol. The RC hobby is GREAT! The availability of space to keep them is not. Hahahaa
The Rustler was my favorite! I just won the Rustler 4×4 Vxl the other night... and a 1/16 brushed revo last night!!! Can't wait to play with my new toys! My girls are stoked too!!!. The 4×4 Rustler is the same as the other just more expensive right?
Yes, get the bandit. I have one and i modded the shit out of it, just by getting bigger back tires i was able to get it up to 80 mph, and they ate sooo easy to work on and look great when lowered

I‘ve got the hpi e firestorm flux which is similar to the rustler vxl but stronger and you can get it for under 150 second hand, the best one for this price
Traxxas recently increased the price of the bandit vxl and rustler vxl by quite a lot since the trx4 bronco and 4 tec 3.0 came out. The bandit is 319 and the rustler is 329 now. I don’t understand the price increase of so many of their models considering not a single things has been updated. They increased the price of a bunch of them.
Great video and content. If you ask me you called it just right. The 1 thing I know you missed is. The Traxxas E-REVO VXL comes with (1) 1200mah NiMH battery and a car charger. Which will not get you no where near the 50 mph . BUT !! If you buy the additional NiMH battery and a parallel splitter and put the ESC in race mode you will be right at the 46 to 48 mph AND you will still be under the 300$ mark. Now if you put the speed spur gear in that comes with it I am willing to bet you will hit that 50+mph . If you got to my channel I have 2 videos where I do run the RC with 1 battery then 2 batteries and then I put the ESC in race mode just to show the difference. @@mbfishing3807 be prepared, all my turn buckles , toe rods, and axles get worn out pretty quickly , diffs r fine so far but it beats the car up pretty good! I run typhon wheels on my senton also, bent a few of those. I use metal spur also,plastic didn't last long. Also turn punch down or have a really soft trigger finger lol
My only problem with traxxas that it does not ship to my country and the cars are almost double the price from local and online stores which makes it not worth it. Any suggestions??
Arrmas parts are so compatible all you need is that $200 short course truck, upgrade the esc and motor to your choice for another couple hundred and be faster than all these cars.
I also have a big arrma one but it's just below (left) camera shot! Also the traxxas one fills the gap better! The arrma one is about half the size and when I tried it, it looked a bit silly with the gap, I did own five/six arrma 6s Cars at the same time earlier on in the year!
Hi Rich, what battery arrangement gets you up to that top speed on the M-ERV may I ask? Dual Ni-Mh or a small 3s LiPo? (there’s no stats on what a 2s or 3s will do for speed or run time). Just been released in the UK - at £310 that’s $380+ ! but travel restrictions don’t look like easing any time soon so may have to bite the bullet.... Thanks as always 👍
Dude I've owned all the traxass cars in the movie. It's almost impossible to hit the top speed with a stock car. The little revo is very fast and drives pretty good. The rustler and bandit are almost impossible to control, even with tsm. You'll need a bigger pinion, better tires, a wheely bar etc.. the original tires will blow up the very first time you'll do a speed run. I was able to hit a max speed of 52mph before it's almost impossible to handle. The front end is way to light and it needs a front spoiler for a little extra down force. They are fast out of the box, no doubt about it but a newbie will kill his new car immediately at 3s lipo 🤷♂️
I have a bandit vxl, and i can comfortably get it to 80 mph with no issues of it doing wheelies. What i did was buy a aerodynamic rear spoiler and custom fit it, lower the suspension which was free and buy a front splitter for it. The total for those 3 things was about 25-30 dollars. Thats not all ive done to it, but thats all i had to do to make it stable at high speeds

I just want to put this out there. Hobby Town is a website that is a very, very similar website to AMainHobbies, but they have similar prices and might have a little more in stock (like the LaTrax Prerunner or others). Just wanted to put that out.
I tried a typhon 3s, and the controller is horrible! There was about 2-3 second delay at aroud 30 meters away. In comparison, the traxxas TQ system has basically no delay at same distance.
Did you test these speeds or are you going by the company claims? Because I don't think my traxxas vxl slash 2wd on 3s is quite reaching there claims for top speed. No doubt its uncontrollable fast. But not quite hitting the claimed speed, ( I'm guessing) I still need a GPS... good video makes me want to buy , buy , buy , to test them all. Ha

i know that this is totally irrelavent to the vid, but its important for me... first question: i have a arrma senton 4x4 mega, can i fit a blx motor onto it? second question: can i run a 3s lipo on the stock motor of my senton, if i can, then what is the difference between running a 3s on a blx motor or running a 3s on a mega motor?
A BLX motor and ESC will drop right into the senton mega. I have a typhon mega and I dropped a different motor in it without changing anything. As far as putting 3S on your original motor, I wouldn't do it. The brushed motor and ESC are only rated to run 2s and I never ended up running a 3S through mine so I don't know what it would do.

Indeed I would have put that in there as I used to own one and hit 65 ish, but as you say no longer in production. I think there's a gap in the arrmas that a 65mph 4WD 3S (or 4s) car would fit in, coming out of quarantine I wonder if they'll release something to fill the gap in the range
@@DriftomaniacsRC It wouldn't make much sense to have something between the Typhon 3S and 6S because like you said, it's only like $150 difference between the two. However, I can see them releasing a dedicated 2-4S drag racer as it wouldn't compete directly with the Typhons.

All great choices rich, but I will never ever ever order a damn thing from banggood ever again. My experience was horrific,in fact I'm still waiting for an airplane I ordered 2 mo. ago. And no one can give me a correct answer as to where my plane is and when I will have it. . But I own the rustler VXL and absolutely love it. I consider the Bandit and rustler too similar and should share a spot.

I run 4s with the 26t pinion with a 550 3500kv motor and it's almost uncontrollably fast! LOVE MY SENTON...

The Dash from wltoys it's 1/18 scale but it does 54 mph. And cheap 100 bucks. Turned mine into a small drag truck.
I got a bandit regular and put a castle creation 3800 kv sensored motor and Mambax esc. 70+ easy

Try swapping to the dumbo rc transmitter and reciever. Swapped to that for my wife and wow what a difference!

Yes physical scale wise. But it has a 1/10 scale motor/ESC setup
259.99 for the redcat tornado will do 51mph out of the box. high speed gear gets it to 64 mph.

yes they are huge in the far east. I probably have 5-6 cars in from them at any one time, and the RC spares are very very cheap

i've had a rustler vxl for one year and it is very unreliable
the tires came unglued within the first week of driving it, the rims cracked after one roll, broke many parts on this vehicle in a short time
