Cheap rc's are a good way to decide if you're going to enjoy the hobby or not. Find a decent one in the category you like and drive it till it breaks, if you loved it,find a budget hobby grade with lots of available parts.

I should have gone that route. I bought a losi that I consider pretty expensive for something I never play with. It's cool but I've only taken it out like 3 times.

I'm just not into the small scale trucks, but that XC-1 is pretty cool.... You guys are lucky to have a awesome Hobby shop, I also have a great hobby shop, I order nothing on line, a 20 min drive and I can have absolutely anything.....it's so awesome to be able to walk in and look around...and grab whatever you want...

Rlaarlo gave me hope for the future by offering a roller version of the amx12. For the most part, kits and rollers seem geared towards competitive racing and are priced accordingly. Building your own car should be a way of lowering the overall cost, but sadly, you have to pay through the nose for the privilege...
Just bought a no name brand. (prob made for the local RC shop we got it from) probably came out of HPI factory or similar. Unbelievable quality, full anodized aluminium frame and shock towers etc. Fan on the motor heat sink, all metal shockies, 1/10 scale, same plastic poly carb cover as all the top brand top models, a non brushed motor but upgradeable, came with a 7.4V Lipo battery, all connectors look like good high temp insulted and gold plated. All metal parts for suspension, cast alloy arms but of course upgradeable. Top speed unmodified around 50Kmph. 4WD. Nothing looks cheap under the cover. The shop had about 10 boxes of them, no branding anywhere only the specs of which i couldn't believe, I was in the store to buy a can of WD40, LOL walked out with a TC truggy!
With the SG1607 brushless version has horrible cogging, You can only recommend it when users will replace the esc.

Im not a big fan of anything less than 1/10 scale, they tend to get a bit too bouncy for my taste. With that being said, the team Associated Rival MT10 is so durable and fast. Throw some RPM arms on it and you can all it bulletproof. Ive had plenty from the Arrma 3s line-up and theyre all amazing but a bit more expensive. Either Team Associated or Arrma will have parts that are easy to find and replace.

Nothing about the traxxas rustler for 250?
Budget go for ftx or the arrma boost . If you have a smidge more then the associated mt10 is good and 1/8 wise try the ftx dr8 none of these will brake the bank and parts are reasonable

In my experience theses cheapo rc cars tend to last ages, my first hobby grade(ish) rc was a banngood special and lasted years of horrible crashes and unskilled driving without breaking!
I would say cheap and Good Quality is needs to be above $100 & Below $300.
I have $100 RC Cars and with just a little more money they could be epic with more standard parts for replacement.
If the reviews are right and the Quality is there I would pick a $250 RC and it might end up.being the last one I would ever own. With proper upgrade paths.

How is it holding up? I am waiting for me hyper go 16209 to arrive, but that was a tough choice between the two.
@@keldonator loved it. Ran so well and quick. My biggest complaint was that it rolls much easier than the 144001 - but it’s taller so that’s to be expected. I rocked it for a few months but got back into mountain biking and promptly sold it. Lol. Besides, it’s too hot in AZ to be wandering around the desert chasing a car right now anyway!! Man, i need some help from you. I want a rc truck for surveillance. I use a drone but i cant hold my weird devices in a drone. Things like night cams, torches, etc, tends to weight too much and the flight time is dramatically limited. Therefore i want to try with a truck. I can load the truck on batteries and spend hours of surveillance. I need it not to run but to manage dificult terrains instead. What do you recomend?

I love my Am x12 but I almost instantly broke a rear hub and they can't supply a replacement... looking at converting to a lc racing emb hub but I need the smaller bearing and axles (cups at a minimum) to match...yes I have to down grade in axle to continue.... other than that it handles better than anything similar I've used (on the smaller pinion) lc racing included, maybe a different servo would be first upgrade to be a little quicker and a high amp ecu and higher kv motor if I get hungry, then it would be an extremely competitive weapon for the money
Unimpressed with banggood. I ordered a 120417 with a decent charger and some spares in October. They don't seem to put their in stock items aside so I watched every item in the basket go in and out of stock for months. The car arrived promptly but I haven't been able to test it because they are seemingly incapable of sending my charger...
Why don't you just use the cheap USB charger it comes with until your decent charger arrives? That's what I did,I got a wltoys 124017v2 from banggood, I also ordered a better charger and better 2s and 3s batteries. I ran it off the stock 2s battery using the little USB charger it came with until my better batteries and charger arrived
Im looking for 1/10 scale but alot of these dont seem durable. Do recommend any that at the top end of price scale. Dealing with nzd 😢

All speed runs are in the original videos. Pointless putting prices as they fluctuate so often that when I did this last year people complained I put the wrong prices! Cant please everyone lol!

look at arrma gorgon everything 160 easier than all these to either love rc or not you wont break it . these you could break than wait for parts

The Latrax is nice for a smaller RC. For $60 more you can get a Traxxas Slash. It is one of the best beginner RCs on the market. Parts are easy to come by and they're cheap. They also make tons of upgrade parts for the Slash as well.

nope not missing anything. correct. Prices fluctuate so often its pointless putting a price on these videos. Banggood change their prices almost daily. Simple case of clicking on the links and checking current prices :)

its not that ppl including me think spending 200 isnt worthit its bc ppl cant just throw 200 around like you can think about that
the RC hobby is a very expensive one and 200 is nowhere near a lot of money when you look at the very expensive cars out there. All the top end cars are 500+ 200 is considered budget IMO.

pointless putting prices on my vids as they fluctuate far too often with sales etc. You are not the first to wonder why.. The one time I did for example say a car is $69 then when someone clicks through its $79 im classed as a liar. Can't help fluctuations in prices which is why I leave them out a simple click through to the desired car will give an up to date price. Easy really..

These are not cheap at all I was hoping yo find something under $200
Unfortunately my friend, you honestly get what you pay for in RC. Save up for something name brand with hex hardware and tenth scale. You won't spend any more than buying a few of these micro things that go in the garbage when they inevitably break. I bought my first arrma (senton3s) over three years ago for $300 because the box had been opened and it is still 100% stock besides the duratrax tires and nothings broken. It's been used hard and hung up wet and just won't quit. Absolutely blisteringly fast compared to any Amazon cars on top of everything else.

Whats cheap to you? RC is an incredibly expensive hobby.. when you look at the prices of the top end stuff these are incredibly cheap..

Not my problem if rc companies aren’t making anything good and cheap? 😂 also not my problem if last years stuff if still completely relevant. 280 is incredibly cheap in this hobby when some cars like the xmaxx go up to 1k. Some people want it all these days for nothing.. see ya later pal 😂
The amx-12 is really good except for the complete bullshit gearing... tue performance on 3s is very poor and its getting way too hot... go for a 17t instead of the Nonsense 27t stock pinion
