Cuenca Ecuador 🇪🇨 is one of the most beautiful cities in Latin America. Cuenca is one of the cities that is compared to cities in Europe and the North of Spain. Cuenca is very clean, the city is considered similar to the cities in Suiza, because of the cleanness. It is a GORGEOUS city❤
Congrats on the new home!! It is beautiful! We were in Cuenca recently and it is truly a magical place. Whatever minor adjustments need to be made are worth it…not to mention the warmth of the people, the rich cultural heritage and the overall safety and high standard of living! Things are truly insane in the US and not getting better, best thing ya’ll did was relocate and really enjoy what a sane and respectful society looks like!!
Guess a good plumber could do well installing hot water systems. A solar water heater and holding tank works well. Thanks for inviting us in your house it’s wonderful
Thank you for these little tips, tips that most TH-camrs do not share. I watched some of your other videos in the past, however, I subscribed today just because of this video, thank you so very much.
Nice place for super nice people...thank you for your kind hospitality...you guys rock...glad to see you both feeling healthy...can't wait to return...choa

I just wanted to say, I think Lucas resembled Truman from "The Truman Show" as he was trying to figure out, "who the heck are they talking to? mama is acting crazy!" HAHA What a beautiful house! I hope you guys really enjoy your time in Cuenca. Thank you for the great advice when house hunting. I also like the "Turkish Nazar boncuğu" hanging over the entry door and warding off envious thoughts. Way to be, friends. Keep on keepin' on!
Mainly for friends through word of mouth. I am not trying to build an in-person practice at this time. My main focus is more on virtual self-development kinds of things.
Nice place. Spent a few days in Cuenca last May/June timeframe. My wife is from Ecuador (Balzar), but has lived in the US (and overseas with me) since the mid-1990s.
Gorgeous home tour y'all! EC def agrees with you! Lucas looks so happy yappy too! I love all the natural light. I appreciate how your videos are made because you generously share important tidbits, facts and figures. Cuida de mi amiga y amigo y dulce perrito Lucas
What a nice house at a great price too. Thanks for the pointers on what to watch out for. What in your opinion is the best way to find rentals in Cuenca? We’ll be looking for something when we come down in November for our visas. ❤️ your videos!
Happy to see you folks in your new digs...I can't believe you only pay 650....is that correct?Anyway I'm glad you found new accommodations And hope to see more of your delightful videos.....
Wow, thanks! 2 Q’s: no security? Bother you? VITAMIX: bring back from visit to US ? Or buy in EC ? Thanks so much for candidly sharing. You two are very generous with key information.? Oh, why car alarms? Don’t people park in gated yards ?
Hi B! Definitely bring Vitamix if you can! We gave ours to a friend and luckily bought this one here from someone that was moving... We feel safe; all the houses have metal fencing and gates, but not so much that you feel completely blockaded from your neighbors. 99% of cars here have alarms and 80% of these alarms go off everytime the driver gets in the car 🤣✌️
Beautiful house. Maybe a South American electric [suicide] shower is the answer. lol I'm looking at a one bedroom apartment looking over the river. "650"
Holaaaa amigos..a house for $650? not bad when compared to the US rent prices. Does it include utilities? Despite the inconveniences , the house looks cozy....enjoy it. “The trouble with simple living is that, though it can be joyful, rich, and creative, it isn’t simple.” -Doris Janzen Longacre, 1940.
Great house with a gorgeous staircase and love the indoor gardens! Was it partially furnished? I so much appreciate your forthrightness & honesty. Up until now, I’ve never heard another TH-camr that resides in Cuenca, mention about the non-working jacuzzis, breakers/outlet considerations, lack of hot water etc. Also, it’s enlightening to hear about what life is like in an upscale, residential section, near El Vergel(?)
Hola! Yes, this house is considered "partially furnished" with appliances and a couple pieces of furniture... Our location is private, but we can say that we are not in El Vergel and we are East of El Centro near the Rio Tomebamba ✌️
Awesome! Nice looking place. I agree with you about the showers. Seems to range from cold to lukewarm. I look at the online listings every now and again. Thanks for the renting tips. Paul
Yes. Nothing new in Ecuador. ..unfortunately. that's the way always has been...do the best to survive. I'm so I'm Happy .for Lucas .at least..hi has a family. Home food. Plenty love from the if .u..🇪🇨
Thank you for clearing up my curiosity about the jetted tubs I see in the real estate ads. They are so big. I’ve only ever had a ‘regular’ hot water heater tank. Those 40+ whatever gallon type. I’ve wondered how those little wall mounted caliphone things would work. And, if they could heat enough water to fill one of those big tubs. I guess that explains why the majority of places have showers. If, they have a tub, it’s a standard. Could the wall heater thing provide enough hot water for that? I’m not sure I would enjoy not ever being able to soak in a tub, again…🥲
Hi Susan! There is a well loved plumber here who can make hot water supply work with tubs, but we haven't tried him yet... We have soaked by filling tub with hot running water and hot kettles of water...
Looks very extravagant to me but really isn't if most things don't work properly ? -- And a lot of wasted space for 2 people in my humble opinion. A lot to clean and take care of - perhaps twice the sq. footage (double) I would want in a 2 br. house. -- Are not such places available there apparently when you said "everything is $650" > ?
Hola Frank! The best deal is for apartments and there are many options around Cuenca. Houses are much harder to find in a good location, which is how we ended up with such a big house ✌️
Matt's humble opinion is that the government is semi stable... The rich and educated do quite well; the poor and uneducated believe in government subsidies... The US dollar helps, but there is a real class division here. We have no direct experience with major healthcare here. We have seen opthalmologist, GP, dentist and dermatologist only. These have been very capable, expedient and affordable. We have had friends who have had hernia repair, gall bladder removal and shoulder reconstruction. These people all have spoke highly of their experience and are very satisfied.
😂 yes, if you can’t handle noise you won’t be happy in Ecuador. Ecuadorians love noise, music, being in the centre of things, and feeling like the world is “alive”… no matter how much you would like to sleep in blissful tranquillo at 2:00am 😵💫😅😫 do be careful with noise cancelling headphones, though… They do emit sound that your eardrums vibrate to… And there is the problem, extended use (every night, all night…) is well known to cause tinnitus after a few years, apparently the most painful and hellish things you can experience, listening to a piercing shreek produced by your damaged, auditory nerve, in your head 24 hours a day. Not me, but family members who look like they are ready to do a “Joe versus the Volcano at any moment.
I have lived in 4 neighborhoods in Cuenca. Three of them were very quiet. Like anywhere else, check out the neighborhood, day and night, weekdays and weekends. If noise bothers you, don't live next door to a nightclub!
What a GORGEOUS home!

That would be nice!!
Buddy, they need a big hot water tank to operate that size of jacuzzi ... and the jacuzzi need to be supplied with 220 voltage to operate normal ...
Your apartment was very nice, but to be in a house with the space, beauty and location of your new home…amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Agreed!
Love the minimalist size and style .
🤣✌️
it's 4/3 for two ppl and a dog. thats not minimal i think

Great 😊 house 🏠 with a great rent. I look forward to returning to Cuenca this autumn 🍂.
It seemed like you just had a video about moving into an apartment. Now you are in a house! Those Flynns are flyin'!

Love your new place! You seem tranquiló about the issues that are always present, clearly you’re well immersed in the culture!
Hahaha we are surrendering to things we can't change... Until we have the courage to ✌️
Glad to see the chiro table, are you working towards building a practice again?

Congrats on the new digs. Lucas seems to approve too!
Muchas gracias!
If Lucas is happy, everybody is happy 😁✌️
Congratulations on your new home, thanks for sharing!!!

Such a beautiful place for the price! Noted ✅
Some turtles under the stairs will look cool
Stay tuned for zen garden design ✌️

Beautiful home! Shame about the hot water!
Nice information . I love the house . What a gem what area are you.?
Hi Jackie! This house is in "Electricos Engineros" which is where the Rio Machangara joins the Rio Tomebamba ✌️
The hot tub is only as a backup for the washer when it breaks hahaha 🤪
Paro water storage also ✌️
That’s a great use, didn’t think of that! 😇
Super cool! Quick question. I know that many of these places are furnished, but how difficult is it to find movers to move all your "stuff?"
There are a couple small moving companies here that people use. They have a box truck and people!

I’m staying in a building that has central hot water. The pressure is great and I can pluck chickens the water is so hot 🥵 🐓 lol 😝
That is a positive for living in some buildings! You are lucky one AB ✌️
Plus I’m surrounded by gringos in this building. What else could I ask for? 🥰

Yes, lots of space, but no built closets
The two questions I have about Ecuador is 1) is the government stable and 2) world class healthcare?

Hi Beau! There are a lot of nice apartments in Cuenca, but being around at the right time is critical! Also, prices are higher right now ✌️
$650 for that huge house???? Wow! Man, that’s cheap.
You will need a maid, twice a week, US$30-40 per day.
Yes, desperately!
20 circuit breakers maybe in the White House so the damn thing doesn’t catch on fire 🔥 lol
Lots of sitting going on gives you hemorrhoids 🥰🥰🥰
😳😬✌️
Ecuador is not quiet. People like to party. Too much noise.
Very, very partying people!
