Thank you. Quito and Cuenca are my two favorite cities that I visited over 30 days in dec 2023-Jan 2024. That said, I could live in Otavalo, Cotacachi, Quilotoa, Cotopaxi area, Mindo, Banos, and Loja. After spending time in the mountains, Vilcabamba felt too hot at a mile high altitude 😂
Wait! You’re video production quality has gotten off the chain! Cool camera angles, gentle pans and fades, lovely music overlays…. As Rondel might say…”Butter!” Blessings.
Oh my goodness. I just discovered your channel today. Every minute of your videos I watch, I’m falling more in love with Cuenca, but you too. I’ve been encouraging my wife to strongly consider Cuenca as a destination in which we could retire in 10 years from now. Your channel style, editing, and flow is superb. If I could do what you do, I don’t think I’d want to wait 10 years. Thank you so much for sharing your journeys and offering your honest takes on everything you experience. You’re wonderful and I love watching. ❤️
When I hunt for an apartment, I look for safety, walk ability, it's closeness to cultural activities, restaurants and hospitals. Last but not least, transportation within the area to include it's distance from an airport. My favorite apartment was the two bedroom for 550.00 a month
"The highlight for me in a place is you." Super sweet!! Home is where the heart is. ❤ Love seeing the process for the apts. and the costs are awesome! Our fav was the second, access to walkable shops.
#love The process has been easy breezy so far. The prices are nice and we haven't even shared the unfurnished apts. There are beautiful, modern unfurnished apts going for $300-$400 a month.
I live in the area near Parque Iberia in the Don Boscoe neighborhood which you highlighted. I love my condo but the noise in the area is sometimes unbearable. From kids screaming, motorcycles, car alarms and barking dogs. My next home with more than likely be in the Challuabamba neighborhood. It looks a lot quieter. I have been in Cuenca for almost six months and I have found that everyone has a dog which is used as a pseudo home alarm system and that most cars have alarms on them which seem to go off at all hours of the day. All construction in Cuenca is done with brick and single pane windows and no insulation or drywall. This lets all of the outside noise in and is something to think about when renting a place. Nice video.😊
Thanks, we appreciate the insight. We're both from big cities and noise pollution doesn't bother either of us that much so we don't take it into account. Thank you for letting ppl know.
Loved your video and the great chemistry that you two share. Personally, I have fallen in love with the historic district. Love the safety, architecture and all the shops, banks, phone company, bread store, mercado...all within 5 minute walk. And most surprising is the total silence from 8 PM to 8 AM. Of course there is noise during the day. But with double pane windows, we hardly hear anything. I love and respect the hard working people of Ecuador. They help me daily.

It can get quite cold in Cuenca since it's so high up (like Quito and like Bogotá). Maybe you would prefer a city at a lower elevation which really has that eternal spring climate without a bit of winter mixed in.
Man I feel like you two are family..I never miss a episode and I thank you two from the bottom of my heart for the education!!! Dont forget that drink when you guys get back to Cleveland..Safe travels Fam.
Hola from NYC.. I am Ecuadorian living in USA for about 30 years. I was born in Guayaquil but always loved Cuenca. Two years ago me and my husband purchased an apt in Altavista 3. That building is located at the side of where you are showing the 2 bed apt. I am happy to see extranjeros who appreciate our culture and our country. Les deseo mucha suerte, bendiciones!
Cuenca is beautiful, it honestly felt like my home city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada (quiet, cosmopolitan, green trees, riverfront parks) with a little New York hip and nightlife scene... but I moved to a smaller town years ago to find some "tranquillo". Not TOO small, I like a friendly community but don't like everybody knowing ALL about my business. I ended up moving to Cotacachi, Imbabura, Ecuador! Love it! You should definitely visit and see if you like it. A thriving restaurant and cultural event scene, famous for leather craftsmanship, nearby volcanoes, hiking and hotspring destinations, Kichwa indigenous cultural experiences. It offers a very walkable and friendly town that will satisfy any craving for cafe, pasteles (pastries), helado (icecream), local and international cuisine, all in a smaller scale and a quieter, smog-free, healthier living vibe that kept me coming back after touring Quito, Cuenca, Loja... I didn't detour to any of the beach destinations like Salinas, Olon, Montanita, because one: TOO HOT, and two: I'm all about the mountains (volcanoes), rivers, lakes, the Amazon... I cannot see myself staring into the abyss of the ocean and bored with nothing to do! Come check out Cotacachi, and the nearby, famous indigenous market in Otavalo! You might get hooked, or at the very least you might meet a Llama ;)
I’ve been living in Cuenca just short of seven years and I absolutely love it I’ve lived in four different neighborhoods right now I live in the area called Rio sol. One suggestion I have as I’ve noticed that makes a big difference in the cost is looking on Facebook. If you check out Facebook marketplace and also rentals you’ll find some great deals. I found my current three bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom apartment along the river for $350.
The sounds of the rivers alone got me in my feelings. LOL! Cuenca seems like a great place to stop for a moment and breathe. I was only there for a weekend several years ago and it looks like I need to return. Thanks again for another great video, perfect with my morning coffee.
I can't wait for more videos from you two 😍So much practical and reasonable information in each one delivered in such a friendly and real manner. I send your videos to my friends wanting to learn about Ecuador and Cuenca. Now all I need is a partner to explore with myself so I can be like you. 🤭 Thanks so much for the positive vibes and sharing.
Need to go at night and hear all the loud music from the neighbors. There is no noise restrictions in Ecuador. They will play music all night with loud parties.
@@TheYarbros Also, do a 2 block radius walk and look for night clubs and restaurants that have live bands. We stayed in a condo 2 blocks away and heard the "thump, thump of the night club ALL NIGHT " for 2 weeks.
I live right around the corner from the "Barrio Batan" spot you checked out. This neighborhood is great! Not a lot of expats seem to live around here, it's super safe, quiet, and the people that live here are really friendly. Any of the places you pick can be negotiated. Start with negotiating first, and use a realtor to help with that. I knocked $100 a month off of my monthly rent by negotiating, and in the end paying 3 months in advance. Whichever place you choose, I'm sure you'll love it. If you choose Barrio Batan, then welcome to the neighborhood! I hope to see you both around 😃. Keep up the great content! I really love the style, authenticity, flow, and great editing you both put into your videos! I am now subscribed 👍
I arrive in Cuenca in one week. This is awesome for me since I need to find an apartment. I'm a retired Spanish teacher living in Colombia. Thanks for doing the footwork! Need Spanish classes?
Saving your post since I'm planning on being in Cuenca in a few months! 🙂 When you get settled in, please come back and add some contact info if you think about it.
We plan on relocating to Cuenca for 9-12 months, beginning in January. We would like to start off with some immersion tutorning, especially with regard to Ecuadoran cuclture and slang/idioms. We get by in Mexico and Central Amercia, and did fine in Chile and Argentina several years ago. You could shoot a connection email to this username at gmail, to start the conversation. ;-)
I grew up there. When I was little, my family was maybe one out of tops 5 American families living in Cuenca (I am 48); now it’s an expat hub. I wouldn’t rush to move there if I was you. Looks can be deceptive. Cuenca people say it themselves “how beautiful is Cuenca but only if it had no Cuencanos!”. There are lots of things you may not like once the honeymoon stage is over (excitement of new place). You may not like how rainy it can get, how cold it can get (since it has that wet cold, gets to the bones). You may not like the isolation (it’s in an Andean valley with only a few ways in an out of it; sometimes you simply can’t get out!. Strikes, landslides, river changes course, etc.). Maybe as an expat you won’t notice it much but also it’s a big gossip town & extremely closed minded. People are nosy as hell!. Those are just a few serious cons, there are tons more I could mention but maybe it’s just me because I grew up there & couldn’t wait to be an adult and leave and I would not live there again even if someone paid me!. I’d choose Mexico instead. People are more open minded and more adjusted to foreigners plus US proximity.
Thanks for your insight! We've already experienced the 'less than ideal' weather in our opinions. Looking forward to checking out the coastal areas. 10k foreigners call Cuenca home. It seems Cuenca is currently the place many want to be. It's not right for everyone and we appreciate your insight into the aspects of the city that people might not have considered before.
Hey Yarbros, this is Solon Coelman, I met ya'll in the Flower Market a couple of weeks ago. Ya'll have terrific information that I'm going to utilize as I'm beginning my search for an apartment which I'll rent for one year. I'm thinking I want a more modern newer apartment for the availability of modern electrical wiring and for appliances and charging my electric tricycle. Thanks for sharing your research!
Hey! It was great meeting you! Thanks for watching. We hope you find a place that's the right fit. We liked the options we saw and there seems to be many modern options available.
@@TheYarbros Hummingbirds are there??? Seriously, where de ‘ be livin’. 😊. There is where I’ll begin my winter exodus. Based on posts to you , where and how should I engage my housing search? Hmmmm, probably an Airbnb as I usually do, but what neighborhoods should I search. Your help and sharing is very much appreciated. How big is that cup of coffee you want ? And where should I have it delivered ?.😊❤️😘
Cuenca looks like a lovely place. Love the site of a green countryside. being a city girl green hillsides are always beautiful. I like safety first, walkability or accessibility to neighboring markets or cafes and friendly people. The 2nd apt was my most favorite because it’s spacious. The 3rd was equally nice although it’s smaller the neighborhood was a bonus. As always stay safe 🙏🏾 you two!
Hi Guys.I like your videos.Iam glad you're enjoying Cuenca.the People are so friendly and the food are so delicious.Iam From Cuenca Ecuador 🇪🇨 but I moved to Toronto Canada 🇨🇦. 25 years ago.I wish all the best
you guys are great, nice vibes, good video and very sensible how you approach your searches. Thanks especially for water/drain tips. We live in Colombia right now and, it's time to move on, and I think I know where! cinco estrellas! thank you
Good suggestion! I'm excited to see JP&Amelia hit 5 years. That's when you can get your citizenship (I did). They could also vote in February's elections because they've been here 5 years. That would be educational.
I like all the apartments except the last one had plastic chairs in the kitchen .The prices seemed reasonable good to know you can negoiate them. Being closer to stores ,cafes and the market is essential .Rondell mentioned TH-cam algorhym and I have heard that affects how many people may see your videos .I watch over 40 TH-camr's a week ,some are super successful ,other medium and some low .All I know is I enjoy them all ans once in awhile I watch one of the reccomended ones. Sending prayers for your new home and great success with your business.
hola amigos, we have also considered the apartments you have in this video. my husband and I arrived in cueca 2 weeks ago and are also apartment hunting, i think we found one on Ordonez Lasso, super maxi around the corner, tranvia across the street, rio tomebamba close by, we are super excited. wish you luck and cant wait to see which one you choose. buena suerte!!
Look forward to seeing you in Belize 🇧🇿,, which is the best country in Central America in my opinion..Belize has the highest percentage of persons of African descent of any Central American nation.. Peace and Blessings to you Yarbros !
They were all very nice! The last one would be perfect for me! But I loved the one for $699 I just do not need that much space.. very lovely for a family or to share space. The last one seemed a little further out... but I get the sense that most areas are tranquil and not as loud and bustling as say Mexico?? The weather seems fairly cool in comparison to a lot of places you have spent time on this channel?? Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to see what you decide!
Not a fan of the wet season in these mountains. Weather can be better. Earthquakes and landslides are no major concern for us. Stay up on the evacuation procedures. Pay attention to the signs and seasons and stay prayed up!
Great video !!! We would look for safety, walkability, good wifi/water, accessibility to fun stuff to do and mercados, at a good price. It will just be the two of us so probably a 1/1.
I like the apartment that you guys like, so you better get it before we do! Just kidding, but a great looking apartment and a great deal. We will be coming down in November to secure an apartment. You’ve given us some great info that will really help us. We ❤️ you guys and your channel. Keep up the great work! Much appreciated!
Love your vibe. Good info. I will arrive Cuenca in about three months while waiting for my temp res. visa to complete processing. Don’t want to own any more cars, so my bicycle and public transportation will have to suffice. Is that realistic for getting around Cuenca?
Yes, I think so. We walk most places. There is public transportation, taxis are readily available everywhere and there are a lot of bike lanes. I think you have a realistic goal there.
Really enjoying your videos. I hope you hunker-down for a year and let the place grow on you...it's an awesome town (not a city). It's a place that just feels like home. Easy to develop a circle of friends Expat and Cuencano (you speak Spanish...piece of cake). Challuabamba is just too far out there and isolated. You were walking the Yanuncay River and the Don Bosco area. That's my area...absolutely love it...nice neighborhoods...very strategically located...Don Bosco, Rio Mall, El Vergel, and Remigio Crespo. You have to go down river and walk around inside Parque El Paraiso...beautiful! I live on the Yanuncay (1st of Mayo and Fernando de Aragon)...great apartment...$500/mo unfurnished...2/2...open floor plan...big windows...nice view. I have a terrific Cuencana facilitator if you could use some local help.
Good Morning Yarbros I finally started my solo journey in Mexico I arrived yesterday Im now in Merida it was a hetic day but making it through taking steps sarting can be uggh you know the rest lol take care safe journeys..
That first one with the skylight in the kitchen! But I also love the big 2nd one with the arched doorways! Spoiled for choice in Cuenca! I’ve always been a big-city-high-rise with-a-doorman kinda girl, but nearing retirement, I need that smaller, community-type neighborhood. I see safety isn’t big issue In these neighborhoods. And those prices!! So glad you’re going to stay there for a while. Looking forward to seeing what y’all get in to!!
All the apartments were nice. For one person the last 1bd seemed really nice and affordable and in a safe community but maybe not as walkable as the other two.
Wonderful guys, I say if the fruits are good stay and eat a little while longer. Fall/Winter is a good time to slow down for a bit. You guys are almost at 40k subs! Good for you guys, going all the way up!
The 1 Bedroom Apt. you showed last ($450) suits me perfectly. Is there public Trans from there suburb into Cuenca or would you have to have your own Wheels?
I’m always looking at price, lol, but I understand the need to be close to your daily needs & not “boxed in “ Bang for your buck wise, I like the last apt, which seems quiet and you can get your brainstorming on!
Thanks so much for this informative video. Can you please say if there are a lot of steps in Cuenca without railings? Or do most steps over 2 or 3 have railings to assist? Thanks so much for all your hard editing work.
So, the neighborhoods are all really nice. The 3rd place is too small, the 2nd place is really nice (depending on the negotiable price), and the 1st one was also nice but lacked space. The slanted window in the kitchen would probably be a problem for Rondel and maybe even Apryl, not much living room area. Barrio Batan would be my choice.
Another amazing video. I have researched a lot about Ecuador since your recent videos. I am totally loving this! I hope you do stay longer than normal! You got our vote to stay in Cuenca from Alaska Lol
Guys love watching you on smart tv. You both have star quality. Do you see these apartments as having mold issues? I am so interested in staying there for months due to you guys. One luv and stay blessed!
Thank you!!! This city doesn't seem to have mold issues. The weather is quirky though. It's winter here in the mountains so we get 2 to 3 days of sunshine a week. Just an FYI. Still a wonderful place though!
So... By the way, LUV-LEE indeed! Cuenca has a homey, chill, slow travel vibe. Very quaint looking. Question: Ecuador gonna be your next home? Any best foodie info?
You're right on the vibe here. And we're kind of split on it being home but the fact that we're both considering it says something. Definitely want to check out the coast before it's all said and done. For food - we're still hunting down noteworthy places but so far Goza Espresso Bar (diverse menu) and Carbonazo (for local), Fabiano's (for pizza) have been good.
Hard question. Colombia as a country has the best coffee to me, Rondel. Every coffeehouse I went to served some supreme coffee. The best cup of coffee I have ever had came from Oaxaca though. Apryl loves Vietnamese coffee. Honorable mention to Coatepec, MX where we had some really great coffee too.
Mu goodness, that Challulabamba (sp?) neighborhood was insane. I love houses like that. One probably needs a car from that location, though. Those are some really nice apartments. One of the things we constantly hear (which effectively applies across Latin America) are concerns with noise 24/7. We have had severe party fatigue in Mexico from amateur nighclubs and house parties. Something to always be aware of. If I could score a place like that $699 apartment for $550, I'd be down.
Saludos 🖖 Based on what you have shown is so far- one could live off pretty comfortable here with about 2k a month. Rent is usually the biggest expense in the budget Question - is it pet friendly? Thank you ☺️ always for sharing. Y’all are greatly appreciate it 💗🙏
We think 2ppl could live here on 2k pretty comfortably! It's pet friendly! Aside from seeing many ppl with pets there's also lots of stray dogs. Thanks for your support!
Well done video. You guys are real pros! Hope you're safe considering what's happening rn. I put a hold on my retirement visa until things settle down....if ever?
The sound of that Rio is so soothing. It looks like a great place to chill for a few months.
That's what Rondel keeps saying lol. But really, loving the rivers so I'm keeping an open mind.

@TheYarbros dude, u one smooooth cat in responses to comments! Amazing diplomacy!! 😂🎉❤
Liking this city an a apt for cheap an nice. Love this video...
Thanks! It's a cool little city. Weather is a mess but it's inexpensive, safe and filled w/ culture.
I dig how clean the rivers are.
Us too! Love it actually. Everybody hangs out there too!
Woo-hoo! I am excited for you! (The best is the one that makes you happy and fills most of your boxes. Looked like the first one for Rondell). ✨💕🎁
The first one is definitely the forerunner of the options. Still hedging our bets about Cuenca but we like what we're seeing.
@@TheYarbros 🧡
You guys so reflect me; except I’m looking for a little house , where I can sit on my porch or patio and watch the hummingbirds fight.😊
Sounds wonderful....there are so many hummingbirds around here...
Yaas, sign and breathe. You'll choose what works best when considering character, comfort, price and neighborhood vibe!
You're absolutely right!
Thanks for chiming in and for tuning in. Safe, walkable, clean with interesting things to eat and do pretty much sums up our perfect landing spot.
Moving to Cuenca in December. Your videos are fantastic! I'll be binging your vids for info. Thanks!
Glad you are able to get something from them. Safe travels!
It's been lovely being here in your hometown! Thanks for watching!
GREAT video, amigos.....I enjoy the two of you as one!!!!! {Happy Wife...Happy Life) ....Ray
Thanks!
Love the content. Just subscribed. Thank you for your kind informative video
Well hello and welcome on-board!
you guys are great, nice vibes, good video and very sensible how you approach your searches. Thanks especially for water/drain tips. We live in Colombia right now and, it's time to move on, and I think I know where! cinco estrellas! thank you
CUENCA IS BEAUTIFUL 😍 🤩 👌
Sí muy hermosa!
Is tonight your open forum chat? When? Time? Muchas Gracias :-)
Yes, at 6 p.m. EST....IN 38 minutes
I recommend Vilcabamba Ecuador. I Spring season all the time. expats from all over the world. check it out.
Thanks! We've been hearing about this place. We will look it up! Thank you.
I like the 2nd one. Enough space for when I visit
We'll keep that in mind!❤
Yall should link up with JP&Amelia, they have lived in Ecuador 5 yrs or so
Good suggestion! I'm excited to see JP&Amelia hit 5 years. That's when you can get your citizenship (I did). They could also vote in February's elections because they've been here 5 years. That would be educational.
Love their content!
Thank you!
WoW thank you so much for this housing tour, I really liked #2
Thanks for watching!
hola amigos, we have also considered the apartments you have in this video. my husband and I arrived in cueca 2 weeks ago and are also apartment hunting, i think we found one on Ordonez Lasso, super maxi around the corner, tranvia across the street, rio tomebamba close by, we are super excited. wish you luck and cant wait to see which one you choose. buena suerte!!
Happy for you guys!
Look forward to seeing you in Belize 🇧🇿,, which is the best country in Central America in my opinion..Belize has the highest percentage of persons of African descent of any Central American nation.. Peace and Blessings to you Yarbros !
Thanks for watching. Belize was cool but we won't be back for a while. We just started through S. America and won't let up anytime too soon.
@@TheYarbros I didn't know you've been to Belize before;; I'll try to find your video.. Thank you
It looks nice there. I love a peaceful town.
👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾 Hope you ladies are doing well and enjoying adventures...It is a super peaceful...tranquil area. We think yall would like it!
Hey guys happy times! Enjoy your adventures so much. I like the big big apartment for its space, walk ability and super speed internet.
We liked that one too.
Appreciate the nice tour. You may not know, but on these modern build apts., are the builders from the west or are they natives of Ecuador?
We haven't the foggiest idea.
Cuenca is amazing greetings friend, what a beautiful place full of culture, architecture and much to visit, everything looks very attractive 🙌🏻
Greetings, place. an amazing place for sure.
Oh, and thank you for that plumbing tip!! Invaluable! Did you see a lot of stray dogs? I hear Ecuador is known for that?
Tons of them everywhere in Cuenca....not so many in Quito though.
Love watching you guy's.... Can't stop.. Please continue with awesome content👍☺
We're loving the company! Thanks for your time!
Enjoy all the BEST 🇪🇨
Gracias!
I liked all 3 of the appts you showed. Good luck.
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! Yes m, it's cooler and we are enjoying the mountain weather!
Awesome video! Making us nostalgic of Cuenca and we used to go to a Panaderia every morning and get fresh pastries - so yummy! 😍
Hitting the Panaderia is a must! Thanks and thanks for watching.
What are your guys thoughts on weather...in particular earthquakes, landslides, and the wet season?
Not a fan of the wet season in these mountains. Weather can be better. Earthquakes and landslides are no major concern for us. Stay up on the evacuation procedures. Pay attention to the signs and seasons and stay prayed up!
Great video !!! We would look for safety, walkability, good wifi/water, accessibility to fun stuff to do and mercados, at a good price. It will just be the two of us so probably a 1/1.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! if they allow us to sign a 6 month lease....🤞🏾 Thanks for tuning in.
Thanks for the information and perspective! So, many green spaces to explore here. We're really enjoying taking them in. Thanks for keeping up w/ us!
Good Morning Yarbros I finally started my solo journey in Mexico I arrived yesterday Im now in Merida it was a hetic day but making it through taking steps sarting can be uggh you know the rest lol take care safe journeys..
Alright! Be sure to enjoy your journey! Hope Merida dosent scortch your soul lol
Thanks
The $699.00 one for me, loved the wooden floors
We liked the furniture in there too.
Appreciate you hanging w/ us! Gonna love showing you around!
All the apartments were nice. For one person the last 1bd seemed really nice and affordable and in a safe community but maybe not as walkable as the other two.
You're right about that....it was walkable if you like nature walks.
How did you guys go to challaubamba? I’ve been wanting to check it out but seemed far away so I had no clue how to get there lol
We took a cab $5 but there is a .45 bus that goes out there till 6pm
@@TheYarbros Thanks for letting me know! Keep the videos coming! 😄
Wonderful guys, I say if the fruits are good stay and eat a little while longer. Fall/Winter is a good time to slow down for a bit. You guys are almost at 40k subs! Good for you guys, going all the way up!
We just might. It might not be in Cuenca but we're keeping our options open. Ecuador has been a nice surprise. And yes, almost to 40k!
The 1 Bedroom Apt. you showed last ($450) suits me perfectly. Is there public Trans from there suburb into Cuenca or would you have to have your own Wheels?
Yes, there is a public bus but I think it stops running at 6pm beyond that you would need to take a $5 taxi from or to town.
1st video I've seen of yours.
LOVE ❤. New Subbie.
I am looking forward to a few months in Cuenca. I'll take the last appointment. 😊
I really liked the Barrio Batan for $699 a month. It is a great price!
Yes it is and I'm pretty sure I could get that price down to $600...
I’m always looking at price, lol, but I understand the need to be close to your daily needs & not “boxed in “ Bang for your buck wise, I like the last apt, which seems quiet and you can get your brainstorming on!
The last one does kind of give off 'retreat' vibes. It was really peaceful.
Thanks so much for this informative video. Can you please say if there are a lot of steps in Cuenca without railings? Or do most steps over 2 or 3 have railings to assist? Thanks so much for all your hard editing work.
Thanks for appreciating the craft. Yes, it seems that there is a universal building code although I can't say for sure. Most stairs do have railings.
Another very well done video you guys. Thanks. 🦋
Thank you! 😁
I recommend that you visit Chaullabamba, it is one of the best places in Cuenca to live.
We visited, it is too far out for us to enjoy but it is perfect for someone.
How cold does it get there in Cuenca? You need blankets at night?Take care.
Yes, you need blankets. It's winter/end of winter here now. The coldest month is July, with an average low of 44°F and high of 53°F.
Are these apartments inclusive of utilities, great selection, my favorite is the one with skylight
The slanted window in the first place was different but we got over it quickly with 2 balconies. Thanks for sharing your pick! Batan is a nice area.
Another amazing video. I have researched a lot about Ecuador since your recent videos. I am totally loving this! I hope you do stay longer than normal! You got our vote to stay in Cuenca from Alaska Lol
Thanks guys! Appreciate your support. Can't wait to make it out there for some adventurous times. Stay safe and thanks for staying tuned in!
Do you visit chota valley or Esmeralda that where you can find Afro-Ecuadorian
Thanks for circling back to add Latin American Spanish subtitles to this video. How much longer are you staying in Cuenca?
My pleasure and the short answer is we don't know. We have some vusiness dealings here we would like to shore up first.
@@TheYarbros Good stuff. Full joy family.🙏🙏
So...
By the way, LUV-LEE indeed!
Cuenca has a homey, chill, slow travel vibe. Very quaint looking.
Question:
Ecuador gonna be your next home?
Any best foodie info?
You're right on the vibe here.
And we're kind of split on it being home but the fact that we're both considering it says something. Definitely want to check out the coast before it's all said and done.
For food - we're still hunting down noteworthy places but so far Goza Espresso Bar (diverse menu) and Carbonazo (for local), Fabiano's (for pizza) have been good.
Peace Yall.. Who's coffee do you like the most so far? From what country?
Hard question. Colombia as a country has the best coffee to me, Rondel. Every coffeehouse I went to served some supreme coffee. The best cup of coffee I have ever had came from Oaxaca though. Apryl loves Vietnamese coffee. Honorable mention to Coatepec, MX where we had some really great coffee too.
wow!! yall putting down roots.. cant wait to see the other places you guys choose around the world!!
Excited to show you what we see!
It took me a minute to understand this new vocabulary word, “burbish.” Good word!
Thanks 😂
Mu goodness, that Challulabamba (sp?) neighborhood was insane. I love houses like that. One probably needs a car from that location, though.
Those are some really nice apartments. One of the things we constantly hear (which effectively applies across Latin America) are concerns with noise 24/7. We have had severe party fatigue in Mexico from amateur nighclubs and house parties. Something to always be aware of.
If I could score a place like that $699 apartment for $550, I'd be down.
Enjoying your videos,keep it going.
Yes, sir!
You have me missing my “second” home. I’ll be heading there Jan - hope you guys are still there. My preference is being in El Centro
Okay, we may still be here...come on down. Safe travels and thanks for watching!
Saludos 🖖
Based on what you have shown is so far- one could live off pretty comfortable here with about 2k a month.
Rent is usually the biggest expense in the budget
Question - is it pet friendly?
Thank you ☺️ always for sharing. Y’all are greatly appreciate it 💗🙏
We think 2ppl could live here on 2k pretty comfortably!
It's pet friendly! Aside from seeing many ppl with pets there's also lots of stray dogs.
Thanks for your support!
Well done video. You guys are real pros! Hope you're safe considering what's happening rn. I put a hold on my retirement visa until things settle down....if ever?
Thank you and yes it's crazy there right now!
At this point I just need a kitchen with appliances and a washer. Oh and the ability to flush the toilet paper
Most times, we're able to find a fully equipped kitchen; but a strong flush ... it's not happening unless we luck out with a newer building.
That Chalumbama apartment might work for me 😂… but that i might be able to force the penthouse 😊
Lol we are feeling that penthouse 🤔🤔🤔
Pretty nice you all, ill be back 3 months , how much for 1 bed . Hughie
They numbers are all over the place. It all depends on what you're looking for.
