Apprently y'all don't watch the whole vid before commenting so here's the timestamps: 0:34 - Part 1, the song lyrics 6:17 - Part 2, the MV (THIS IS WHERE I POINT OUT TETO'S ACTIONS PEOPLE) 9:26 - Part 3, the thumbnail 9:45 - Part 4, conclusion Also i didn't explain my theory well enough in the conclusion after rewatching it so here (so you also don't have to watch a 12 min vid): Miku and Teto are actors. Both of them are struggling with life or looking for something to let them live for another day when they were scouted to help advertise social media as a place to escape life's hardships and struggles. Usually, the director or staff give the script to the actors in advance so that they know what to say and act. While reading the script, Miku gets convinced or influenced because she relates to it (like since she's struggling, she gets influenced to try it). She's like the advertisement's target audience. Meanwhile, Teto does not easily get influenced. She's also struggling, but she knows that she's just an actor for this advertisement. So when they start acting, Miku gets more influenced to escape because of the props that are representing social media (aka the colors, backgrounds, etc., like it's all perfect and pretty). (Also btw, "tailor-made for this era" means that the person is more likely able to be influnced, imo so when miku says "you're tailor made for this era" it means "you're easily influenced") And the hypnotism scene... Miku sways left and right, which could mean she's too engrosed in the script (since if you read, you look left and right, like what Miku is doing). Meanwhile, Teto is just standing there, meaning she's just reading it normally or just scanning it, not getting hypnotized. Miku gets hypnotized at the end, which is a metaphor on how she's going to escape reality - since when you're hypnotism your not in control of your own body (i think?). Also, Miku's poses at the end look like she got hanged (i mentioned this, but i did not mention that her neck got thinner and thicker because I literally could not see it so I left it out). This could mean that she stopped acting and escaped, taking her own life or making her life based on social media (or dependant on it). Teto calls out for help. She may have had a feeling Miku was influnced already ("Fooled by this truthful acting", Miku says this in the chorus) so she calls out for help before Miku gets hypnotized. Teto gets hypnotized at the end because she's still "tailor-made for this era" aka influnced. And since she also relates to the struggles mentioned in the advertisement (just like Miku), it makes her more easy to be influenced, that's why she tries to fight back as long as she could before surrendering. Oh, and I personally don't think there are any meanings to their colors on their outfits, it's probably just to make the advertisement more appealing and makes you more inclined to escape, but I still mentioned it in case you guys want to make theories of your own :D So yeah that's it Remember that this is all theory and speculations and I may not be 100% correct!!
I saw a comment on the official vid that said the confetti represents their sanity like at the start there isnt much confetti but when miku is hypnotized there is a lot it falls in the middle
your theory is not really correct but its a little bit correct! instead of who is recording is not trying to hide miku at 1:33 you can see that teto, she is doing the sign of help hope that helps!
something i noticed phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarboxamide (the super long word in quiz time) is an enzyme found in humans that is essential for DNA synthesis and energy metabolism. i believe a deficiency of this enzyme can cause hearing loss - which could potentially explain why the audio faded out when teto was getting hypnotized (it could also just represent teto blocking out the hypnosis and trying to fight it but idk). also, teto being deaf/hard of hearing could explain why she knew sign language + morse code to begin with maybe probably just a stretch, but i definitely think that word has some sort of meaning considering how random it is
how does someone lack phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarboxamide tho?? isn't that kinda rare or are there some certain conditions you have to be in to lack that kind of enzyme??
@@APEIROMANIA maybe its trying to hint at Teto being one of the rare people to actually avoid being hypnotized for so long (or maybe the only person to be able to)
I noticed the black collar on miku’s neck, this could hint that she took her own life. This is considering the fact the Tetó does not have that on her neck.
something i haven't seen mentioned quite yet is miku's collar. it's right over left, which is typically used for dead people. combine that with the ring around her neck, hypnotized expression, and head tilt
Does that mean... she is..... actually i dont wanna say it. But are people pretending that she is alive bit she is not? Like they are using her body as a pupet?...
This will probably be buried under all these comments, but I wanted to put it out there: The switch to a phone-sized FOV when the "hypnosis" happens could symbolize that they are being hypnotized by US--or, rather, the online attention that we give them. One of the interpretations of the story could then be that they are numbing their emotions of the every day depressing world by seeking social media attention(Miku going "insane" and overperforming for the camera+extra confetti could be like "selling out")
I don’t think so, tbh. They are clearly asking for help while also hiding it from someone, if it was us making them insane, why would they even try to hide asking for help from us?
Another part proving the “advertisement”/ “performance” theory is that one part at the end where they’re both standing with a green screen behind them, which signals that the background is fake
I have my own theory if you care to read. The collar around Miku's neck is only exclusive to her, and it might even be an indirect sign that she could have self-harmed or killed herself by hanging. In the scene where she gets herself 'hypnotised' with her tongue out and black eyes, her collar gets removed and her neck has a purple/red shade instead of a darker version of her skin colour. Those are bruises, most likely a strain on the neck as a result of hanging. As the MV goes on, her skin gets paler and paler with every scene swap, and in the final scene where Miku and Teto are standing side by side, Miku is as pale as a ghost, and has a purple-y hue to her face (a symptom that everyone experiences when they die). I think in the beginning, before the hypnosis, Miku was alive, but she eventually killed herself because of how long she had to keep her emotions and thoughts at bay because of the ad's production. The collar that was on her since the beginning could indirectly represent a noose and her eventual decision of suicide. She was too pressured to be perfect for social media, so she ended up committing suicide, as stated in the first scene shown with Miku complaining about being trapped and needing an escape. Drawing your attention to her clothing, her outfit looks like something a maid or waitress would wear, so it could suggest that Miku she always listens to others' commands and wishes instead of acting independently (peer pressure on social media that caused her suicide). Miku's corpse was probably found over during the 10 days of the attempted hypnosis on Teto, so the producer had enough time to turn Miku's corpse into a puppet without Teto ever finding about Miku's death. Another detail is that Miku's clothing has cuffs with black buttons/holes on her wrists. Those buttons/holes could have been laced or threaded with something (like string) to make Miku a Corpse Puppet. You can also infer with the 'Maid outfit' that she is easily controlled by others _like a puppet_. Miku is still technically new to social media, so she will be more likely to be tricked by the people there, as she sees them as trustworthy because the media made her popular in the first place, whereas Teto isn’t exactly that popular and a lot of people forget about her, which is probably why she didn’t get hypnotised as easily as Miku did. Miku is wearing rollerskates, meaning she is more easy to trip and trick than Teto, who wears normal shoes. In the scene where Miku 'loses her mind', her collar gets removed for a few frames due to an unknown reason (which I assume to be the puppet stings moving Miku's corpse around), and those are the frames where Miku does a new pose, while her mouth goes wide open and her eyes dilate (sign of being hung) so I think that the collar was keeping her mouth closed and her neck stable. After the colour was ripped off, the producer probably scrambled to put the collar on Miku as she ripped it off, not being able to secure it back on properly (which explains the unnatural movements or thickening and thinning in her neck, and also why her mouth is wide open). A hanged person's neck isn't stable enough to hold itself together, which is why her neck thickens and thins over the course of her mindless, offbeat dance with Teto. Teto clearly didn't know about Miku's death, considering her genuine shock/horror at the reveal and over the course of the song. She only found out about Miku's death as the collar was removed. The producer (who probably put the collar back on) didn't have enough time to fix Miku's mouth back in place, so they instead decided to use an excessive amount of confetti so the camera couldn't focus on how dead Miku looked. Miku's arm bends backwards a few times with no wince or reaction of pain. Her eyes don't blink which shows how lifeless she actually is. The deseased can't blink due to having their brain (and muscles) inactive. Think about it, if you were a producer and one of your MC's just hung themselves whilst in the middle of making the ad of escapism, you would try to hide their death, especially because some people view peer pressure on social media as something against escapism (the main plot of the ad).
1:28 - Teto also goes "Perhaps acting stupid and surrendering yourself is the optimal solution" whoch could be referencing on giving yourself up to someone else in hypnosis
@@organichotchoco notice how she blinks more than Miku in the entire MV? They did mention that about staring at reality for too long to the point it can blind a person. That's maybe some sort of way they hypnotize them. Fortunately due to Teto's lack of phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarboxamide and her blinks for help, she wasn't fully hypnotized because of it. She was able to resist the 'blinding reality' by blinking as a break from staring at the 'blinding reality' (yes ik someone probably mentioned something like this in the comments here but it's very important to note)
My thought about teto... Okay, so yes, the screen swayed side to side like miku's but as you can tell, Teto didnt follow the swaying of the screen, instead she stayed still and blurred her eyes to avoid being hypnotised, and i thjnk the shut down part was cut off cause Teto's control of her body didnt get shut down unlike Miku's. And the parts where she asked for help WERE calls for help, tand also, when Miku went insane, teto stopped bobbing up and down for a few seconds, and Miku didnt even stop dancing when it was Teto's turn. And if you could tell. Miku was starting to dance off beat and didnt stop dsncing when the screen was covered. Little easter egg at the end, Teto actually got hypnotised as you can tell that her eyes went black, her sweat disappeared and she smiles.
@@nelsoncua9739 Yeah, but when Miku was happy? before turning crazy, she had star eyes...it also happened when Teto explained the "cure" int the beginning.
My theory is that due to reality being harsh, Miku and Teto "escapes" to somewhere better. In the first verse, Miku talks about how reality is just a bunch of fake emotions, and then Teto recommends escapism. However, Teto then says something like 'surrendering yourself is the best solution', which I think, is suicide, due to the world being so harsh. Maybe the hypnotise thingies are the desire to un-alive yourself, idk. In the 'shut down' part, Miku falls into the hypnosis, and following the lines of the theory, Miku gives in and has the desire to end it all. However, Teto doesn't give in just yet, maybe showing that she doesn't un-alive herself and she is going to stay with Miku. In the last chorus, before Miku goes crazy, Teto looks worried, maybe showing that she knows that Miku wants to k!ll herself and she's nervous. But, Miku still looks happy, because she knows that it will all end soon. When Miku finally goes crazy, you can see that her tongue is showing and her neck is unbalanced, showing that she finally ended it all (aka, un-alived herself) with a rope. She also has a choker, symbolising suicide. Teto looked scared from the first few seconds when Miku went crazy, maybe because Miku had k!lled herself. At the very last part, Teto also falls into the hypnosis, aka un-aliving herself, because she can't live without Miku and she wanted to join her. That's all! :D
@@Puppet2gachaif you look at tetos eyes when she looked like getting hypnotized its slightly red if you mix it with black. Shes not hypnotized shes pretending so they probably won’t try to hypnotize her again? Or maybe to keep calm and not go crazy like miku
there us also a theory were people are saying teto is the one who brought miku into this and then she is also getting hypnotized, that's why she understands how hypnotize work and tries to fight back + the facial expression of "oh no what have i done" when miku was hypnotized and became crazy
Also, on the chorus before miku gets hypnotised, he movements already seem to be slurred. Like she's on the verge of being hypnotised. And also, her choker may represent sh/suicide. Speaking of suicide, her body looks dead too. Her skin is white, due to lack of oxygen. Same with here tongue. The slurred movements in her hypnotised state, could be her dead body being controlled by here soul, which most probably died due to well. Suicide.
1:43 teto was signing in ASL for “help”. 2:21 teto was blinking in morse code “sos” ( . . . _ _ _ . . . ). 2:43 these four quiz questions? the first letters spell “HELP” and the fourth (excluding hat) spell “SOS”. The last question was also some part of a human’s DNA, suggesting Teto is warning you Miku is not human? 2:48 teto was also signing for “save me” 2:53 Miku sways with the screen, while Teto doesn’t. Miku gets hypnotized. If you also didn’t notice, the clouds slow down/stop moving during Miku’s part. However, Teto resists for a long time, even blurring her eyes. She also blocks it out (hence the music stopping). The final words get cut off since she didn’t get hypnotized. 3:11 i forgot what the stars are called, however they have 13 points and represent immortality. 4:12 The confetti only started falling when Teto danced. The background slowly faded to black. 4:53 Teto is so shocked she stops bouncing for a bit. Miku also has a neck tilt and her tongue out, suggesting she hvng herself. Her arms also bend physically impossibly, and she does a move she hadn’t done before. Miku also keeps dancing during Teto’s part and gets off-beat during hers. She also dances when the stars come up. Also, Teto decides to stop resisting and becomes hypnotized, as seen at the end.
Also in the whole video, i saw a comment where miku is dressed up as a 50’s waitress and teto is dressed as a bellman, The two jobs obey the orders of the people. So miku probably listened and didnt know and got hypontized and got controlled.
My first impression of this song was "toxic friendships" because in my eyes, i was in a similar situation a while back. With me being miku and my other bestfriend who was in this friendship, as Teto. 1. In the friendship i was, and still am but just a bit less, swayed/manipulatable. 2. My other best friend (we'll call her Len), Len was the reasonable one. Being the one who ended the friendship for both of us, while I, being like Miku here, was already "mesmerized" by her (ex toxic friend, lets call her Kylie). 3. Len asked for help with her while i didn't. She told people abt the situation, i kept my mouth shut. 4. Continuing off if 3 while being a seperate point, i was very similar to Miku; Gullible, vulnerable, and easy to manipulate. To add more, i was being used for entertainment (with the whole show like theme of the a mv/song) and with being used as a servant(or in other words, a puppet.) in a way. (They also have 90's diner outfits. Waiter Miku and i think receptionist/front desk Teto?) 5. Roles. with miku being a waiter, shes commanded alot, Similar to myself. And Teto being a person who leads you 2 ur table, shes usually saying the commands. But, that doesn't mean she cant be commanded, similar to Len. Well, this is where im gonna end my rant! Bye :3
I thought there was something more about their outfits than just the color so I did some research and saw that scientific research claims that stripy patterns give the human brain a sense of distress and dizziness to the brain. Also stripes or lines that occur in your vision are from the amount of stress that you have. This can be taken in different ways like if we go with the actors theory, they personally have them wear stripy clothing to hypnotize them easier and especially get Miku so that she can be used to get Teto hyponotized also. It can also be said that if we look through the eyes of these two, miku has a lot more stress and she can see lines because of that stress a lot more on her blue clothing while teto doesn’t have as much stress but still sees it on her blue clothing, this can also be a long shot but the amount of stripes on their personal outfits could mean how often they hallucinate. Sorry for this long paragraph, I just was so excited that I could be somewhat smart once 😀.
So, I notice that at the end (after Miku’s… episode,) Teto does stop bouncing for a while and also STAYS concerned throughout it. Miku is now ONLY DOING the “puppet-like” poses that she hasn’t done before! If you notice, her wrists are completely limp. I think those collars around her wrists are where the “puppet strings” go, controlling her. Also, Teto looks at her funny before her “shut down” because of the pose she did (at least I think). She gets genuinely kind of concerned for Miku, becuase the hypnosis hasn’t worked that strongly before. It’s super interesting how many details are in this short MV! :D
Hmm... It wouldn't be far from the truth, considering that Miku was the most sane before the first chorus and thus would make a bit of sense for her to ask for help like Teto, but didn't get the chance to for as long as Teto since she was predisposed to hypnosis from the beginning
that sign actually doesn't mean "please" in ASL (as someone who uses it), Miku would have been rubbing a hand in a circular motion in front of her chest if she did. it's more of a pleading gesture if anything
I also realized that they made Miku say the first phrase before entering the dance like "farewell" and before Miku broke And Teto the last it's like Teto is not the priority and indicating Teto is the first victim of the hypnotize
7:44 seems like she’s motioning her arms in a “KEEP OUT/DON’T COME CLOSER/STAY AWAY” motion This ties well with her facial expression of panic The overlapping of her can also mean that she’s in an edited production, and it could be that she’s overlapping on command (she can do it voluntarily) making herself all the more attention calling like one of these : ⚠️‼️. If anything, you may be more familiar with the ⚠️ with a red exclamation mark, matching her colors, but since red (red and exclamation mark) usually marks danger, that could be why she wears more red than yellow. Her body motions and expressions, her overlapping on command, and colors may be her doing her best to warn you away and be as flashy as she can The overlapping could be an ability she can do very scarcely as we don’t see it often
My thinking abt this vid…is that they were hired for doing this and when they are talking, they were talking abt hypnosis, and when before the dancing part, teto is doing the help ASL hand and miku is doing the please so it is “help please” when miku is dancing teto is doing the sos in morse code. And when its the quiz the first letter is HELP but the P is some kind of dna bc teto is warning us that miku is not human from later on and miku got hypnotized and teto realized it but can’t get any help, and at the last part we see teto giving up her last egde
the outfits are supposed to look like uniforms that diner/bar/food workers would wear. those jobs usually overwhelm and overwork their employees, thus giving the song more meaning to leaving reality and going in a different world to "escape" their responsibilities. they're more likely to get coaxed into or fooled by happy-go-lucky advertisements like this because of their overbearing lifestyle and horrible working conditions
might be a bit of a stretch but i think girls' outfit design choices help push whatever narrative there is: miku's clothes seem like a stylized maid dress - as if she is a servant under someone's control; she has slightly more details n accessories - like a doll, a doll-like puppet*. plus, blue color is often associated with trust, like how miku easily trusted sugar coated words and has fallen to hypnosis rather quickly, or how she is a tool - a trustworthy looking character for others to get hypnotized by. teto, on the other hand, is dressed a bit less open - less trusting maybe, a bit more down-to-earth, structured n stoic (?), and like you pointed out, she's colored just like warning signs! *im liking the theory that this miku already took her own life, hence the black choker thingy - or her human psyche broke/shut down bad enough for her to become something of a soulless puppet of a human.. maybe before her human body got replaced by a puppet replica 😳but at this point im just making shxt up. aaand im leaning towards teto being actually hypnotized by the end of the mv, while it is a bit straightforward and boring, it would make sense for her to snap: she's been fighting hypnosis for a while it seems, crying for help for both of them and hoping to escape, only to see her... coworker? snap, behaving like a broken horror-lookin' puppet. i can see teto's psyche being broken by the end of this as well, succumbing to mindless hypnosis just to escape this horror of an existance. fits this whole song's escapism theme anyways, great analysis!! you pointed out many things i didn't notice or realize, super helpful
This song is just so good and full of interesting details that it seems no matter how many analysis I watch, there’ll still be more to notice. It almost feels like everyone’s collaborating to fully understand it and I personally find that very interesting. Thanks for making your own analysis!
no timestamps? use this comment! ------------------ 0:33 Part 1: The song and the lyrics 6:18 Part 2: The MV 9:26 Part 3: The thumbnail 9:45 Part 4: Conclusion (also the sped up song sounds like Miku already got hypnotized) ------------------ I hope this was useful!
I can understand the meaning of all the english captions so basically and yes the shapes on the first part of vid does called tridecagrams and it represents immortality soo they don't die, and never age They both need help, at the end teto got hypnotized but she's probably closing her eyes so she doesn't get hypnotized 1:49 Teto doing help sign Miku doing please = Help please 2:00 the stars in middle represents numbers of smth 2:13 SOS Quiz part has Help and SOS 2:54 see miku moving with the camera? Probably getting hypnotized quickly 3:02 meanwhile Teto standing completely still, as the clouds behind her go fast, means she can take this perfectly.. as she squints her eyes to stay calm 3:09 Teto was suppose to be shutdown or say shutdown idk, but her words got cut 3:46 Miku swinging more than usual 3:50 gets more darker the more teto dances 4:23 slowly teto looks confuse by her eyebrows looking at Miku slightly.. until Miku became hypnotized and her neck is more thinner.. and thick so she h@ng herself thats why her tongue is out teto bounces a bit, staying still shock, before continue bouncing faster There was one part i forgot Miku represents her heart was beating fast or slow thats why 4:59 Miku lost her mind and kept dancing teto part, until the end Teto closing her eyes to not get hypontized or prob is hypontized 5:22 This represents reality Thats why, please dont 3nd your life guys. You have more to go Hint: Teto having red and yellow colors means warning Miku having blue colors mean manipulation however Miku has blue so she will also be manipulated/hypnotized, Miku pupil are circle unlike the scene before where she had diamond pupils, The tride got bigger, teto blinking Sos, teto wears shoes instead of roller skates means shes grounded and less likely to trip or trick, take notice of the grass behind them + them behind greenscreen looks like they were just actors, also teto seems to stay still trying not to get hypontized like focus on the sky its black then blue then black then blue, teto looks at miku while dancing bc she never done that one pose before it looks like a puppet and more clouds in background and grass gets spiky + thumbnail is spelled sos and the band on miku wrist people theorize that it symbolize miku being controlled like a puppet (me too) also miku being behind the trideshape represents escapism while teto being in front of the trideshape represents realism, some theories are that miku was already mesmerized aka hypnotized at the start but she was able to hide it until the end while Teto fought back until the end, so that's why she calls out for help but Miku doesnt (she did just the please sign) and yes my theory is that teto didn't get hypnotized at the end she was pretending to he and stay calm to preserve her sanity they're also hiding us that we dont know their hypontizing us (bc my sister is watching this song nonstop the fact i had to take her phone away)
@@defokochu there are three different ways to write in Japanese. Hiragana, Katakana, and kanji. Katakana is usually used when writing foreign words or names, and since "Memorizer" is not Japanese, its written in Katakana. Hope that helps
My theory about this song (based on other's observation and my thinking) is that it's also about depression (because some alinements), where Miku is depressed and Teto is like trying to help her out while trying not to follow on with what Miku's experiencing
Another thing about Teto's actions in this MV. Before the last 'Konna', (the start of the last chorus where Miku gets *'hypnotized',* and her poses are faster and more on the downbeats), Teto sometimes shoots a concerned glance at Miku whenever she does a pose on the offbeats. You can notice that easier if you slow down the video a little bit, but it may be tricky because of the confetti covering the screen. Also, 'saraba' is a shortened version of 'Sayonara', meaning 'goodbye' or 'farewell' in the Japanese language.
I think that miku and teto are actors for like a kids show or something (the outfits, the confetti, the random green screen, the quiz, etc) and the person recording is trying to hypnotize them into making more and more episodes for more and more money. It seems like miku is oblivious to it all, while teto tries to get help from the audience with the quiz thing, the ASL, and the Morse code blinking. The star things may not represent literal immortality but that they’ll never be able to escape, just like an immortal person will never be able to die. The white straps and the puppet like dance moves are like she’s a puppet to whatever company is making the show. Very realistic to how actors are treated now and days, to be honest.
Alternate interpretation of "you're made for this era" line: さらば! saraba! Farewell! こんな時代に誂えた konna jidai ni asuraeta The vulneravilities of the 見て呉れの脆弱性 mitekure no kijakusei outward appearance tailored to you in this age
another thing is that miku has a choker around her neck, and a lot of people theorized that it meant miku hung herself or something. along with the choker, mikus neck keeps changing from normal to skinny when shes dancing at the end, another sign that she hung herself at least thats what others said idk 😞😞😞
Their outfits come from like certain jobs you see on TV (ehem ehem Back to the Future) like Miku wearing those maid outfits with rollerskates you see on those 90s bars and Teto wears the other maid outfits but with shoes so referencing that this is a show is possible.
Hmm, this made my think that the song could be talking about working or something. Getting caught up in the daily routines of life and like the lyrics say “bot like cycle.”
@@c00l9 now that you've mentioned it , I think that not only will the "show" be shown to kids but also adults who just needed to find a way to end their suffering
one thing I noticed is the fact that they're in these boxes like how social media presents videos to you. So maybe not a show, but an advertisement on a social media app since a lot of people use that for escapism
Amazing video! I think it'd be interesting to see if the hypnotism was temporary, considering Teto said "Even if you fall into a sweet trap, you can be saved!", which can be interpreted as saying that mesmerizer is the "sweet trap", and that you can be saved from it and maybe saved from hypnotism!
At 7:14, miku is doing the ASL of “please” and in the order of teto and miku, they are saying “help please”, I don’t know if I am %100, I might mixed it up, so don’t take my words to granted.
The stars at the start represent "immortality" idk about the others tho- The thingy where tetos hand is on a thumbs up and on her other hand is a sign of SOS. She was blinking useing Sign Language to ask for help, . . . - - - . . . To be exact. She did the help sign at quiz time and the first initial of every answer in the quiz spells help. Dont forget she was hypnotized at the end!!
My thought:could be in the beginning, miku entering some "company"to become idol(that why she easily fall in hypnosis), while teto had to work due because pay for ear treatment or hearing aid(that explains why teto knew sign language).maybe the company doing the hypnosis so miku and teto keep working and leaves positive review to avoid company reputation damage, however due because teto has hearing problem making hypnosis taking numerous day(perhaps the hypnosis is fail) . In the end teto fall in despair seeing miku became insane or unstable
Actually, i remember on a different video that someone in the comments said that the confetti represents miku and teto's sanity, and this actually makes sense as we see more confetti when we see miku get hypnotized and start dancing and some confetti Over laps the entire screen even at the end theres so much confetti that its almost a bit tough to see miku and teto.
Girl tysm for that! your point of view is wise and you told me the whole thing on a way that now i understand all of it! and congrats to the creator that worked on each detail and the puzzles
i’m adding on that the confetti in the mv was used to try to hide teto’s hypnotism at the very end perhaps(?) the confetti was also probably added as the editor’s choice(?)
Another thing I’ve noticed that I haven’t seen anyone talk about is that when Miku first does her more “puppet-like” pose (around 8:37 in this video) her neck and arms start to bend in inhuman ways like they’ve been broken, perhaps symbolizing that it’s now easier for her to be bent/shaped/molded into something else. She does it more later on when she gets fully hypnotized and it’s more obvious then, but maybe it happening here is showing that even though she hasn’t been fully hypnotized yet, she still has the symptoms and isn’t truly herself/human anymore.
another thing i noticed is that in teto's swinging coin scene, the audio gets muffled (hear no evil) her eyes get foggy (see no evil) and then she covers her mouth (speak no evil)
Is it just me but when theres like 3 tetos falling, it means something, like mabye she tryed to escape there and then, but it didnt work? But something has to do with her falling
This is the most comprehensive analysis I've seen. Well done. I have noticed something myself that wasn't mentioned: I think Miku closes her eyes in the second chorus in order to conceal what's lurking below I've also heard that the vertical arrangement of both of them could represent the short form content that's ever so common now, you can see people spend hours on those videos in a scrolling loop, thus being in a "bot-like cycle" and hypnotized
Also I just noticed, Teto looks significantly more tired towards the end. In the beginning, her eyes were wide open, but at the end, they were squinting a bit
Nahh, her neck isn't getting thinner or thicker... It only looks like that because her earings have the same color as her hair... When she sways her earing would block a portion of her neck from our sight, making it looks like it's changing forms... Sorry for saying the truth...
hmm... There's a few things I need to "correct" or "add to" I think. The one thing I'm saying more as a correction than an addition is that Miku does ask for help. Along with the lyrics themselves, while Teto was signing the ASL for "help," Miku was signing "please." At least at one point, I think it was a more honest "we need help with life" out of Miku. More on that in a moment. I also have one minor correction that the symbol of Teto taking her palm to the camera and tucking it in her hand is a domestic abuse symbol...that was specially designed to be used during a recording. Since this requires a camera, even without the greenscreen, we know that there's a camera present. Which means when we do see the greenscreen, it's far and away the symbolism that "Teto is breaking the script" and deviating from the design. To the point she's managed to successfully, if only for a moment, break free...but she's still trying to save Miku, and can inevitably only continue following the script in the end. Where I need to add more is in the tridecagrams, and in the chemical. You said the shapes represent immortality...but to give that some deeper meaning, that's a symbolism derived from witchcraft...which is commonly seen as "something that challenges/manipulates the natural order of things to manufacture solutions." The chemical, to go into more specifics, is a vital player in DNA synthesis and repair. Again reinforcing this challenge to a person's nature. Lastly, you mention already that the confetti is "distracting" but you also need to consider two other layers with that. The first is, it's overwhelming. So many small particles flying all over the place will degrade the video quality of a camera. You kind of covered this when you said "it attempts to hide her asking for help." But by the point there's a ton of it, she wasn't asking anymore. ...which brings us to the layer directly underneath that: it's the same as the spiky grass and the clouds all over. It shows Teto's worldview is being overwhelmed. And that everything it slowly cutting into her, overwhelming her, degrading her. This can also be attributed to Miku going off-beat, failing to stop dancing during Teto's part, etc: the *processes* used for control here are overwhelming, and more than Miku can take. Several theories honestly suggest Miku is dead by this point...I think that at least mentally, they're not wrong - she's far past the point of no return, and without the control, without the outside directional input, she wouldn't manage anything at all. Lastly...the lore of Teto Kasane herself - she's an UTAU and was made to effectively be a troll/parody of Miku that was supposed to be the "free" version to undermine the expensive software of the Vocaloid franchise. Since her creation (and later her new look and upgrades) she's actually had outstanding performances alongside Miku and this older and pettier history is nearly forgotten...but not by everyone. If you add up all the layers: I think the theory of Miku being hypnotized from the beginning and trying to hide it is backwards. I personally think that it's **Teto** that was *already* forced to manipulate Miku, by design and against her will, by suggesting she let go of herself while she was in a vulnerable state at the very start of the song. However, though this is what Teto was *created* to do, it is not what she *wants* to do...so the entire time, she's signing that this is all a thoroughly messed up situation and she needs outside help to do anything about it. Miku, thinking this is "help us with this messed up life" is playing right along. I think that the entire time that we're seeing Miku give in and descend into being nothing but a puppet, we're actually seeing Teto trying her best to resist *her own design* and that for a moment, she actually succeeds, only to be shocked that it was too late and that Miku had gone to a point that *NOTHING* could reverse her situation. It's **TETO** that's the first to "glitch out" with that triple take. It's **TETO** that ends up "breaking" the entire video down to greenscreen by *refusing* to "shut down" and it's **TETO** that even from the beginning was trying everything she could to get people to notice that something wasn't right.
In twitter, 32kai and Channelcastation (I don't remember too well their names) made a bunch of tweets about the song, one of those being that the animation didn't fully reflect the intentions of the song because 32kai didn't fully explain it too well to channel (if I remember correctly, he said it was on purpose) Just as a fun fact, take what I said with a grain of salt because those tweets were made some days ago, but they are still up
Actually Teto does get mesmerized (aka hypnotized) at the end and she also does another sign language sign with a thumbs up and her other hand on the bottom with her palm face up
At 0:35 of the song Miku and Teto are on the opposite sides, with Teto saying 'help' in sign language and Miku was doing this: 🙏 which basically means theyre saying 'Help please' Also at 1;19 of the song, during Teto's part, the song in the background is muffled/silenced, like Teto's blocking out the song so she wouldn't get hypnotized(?) And at 2;00 til 2:02 of the mv, you can see Teto looking at us then at Miku b4 she snaps(or smth) like she knew something was gonna happen And the confetti thing, maybe it means that more confetti means harder to focus/resist which results in Teto giving into the hypnosis thingy at the end of the song The circle in the middle is a 13 pointed star known as a tridecagram and is basically a symbol 4 immortality(idk what that means though)
When I saw the mesmerizer thumbnail, SoS but when you know the "Triple Baka" in the past, Neru was there. Maybe she is the "yellow Tridecagram" and also the "Hypnotizer" which was the forgotten one.
Another thing about Teto's resistance part, the background changes from night to day 10 times for each, most likely meaning that Teto was holding on for TEN DAYS to not get hypnotized.
The confetti probably represents their sanity, the more confetti, the less sanity they had. They might be covering it with confettis instead of other objects 1:39 they did the SOS again here too
Ppl think the confetti is their level of insanity bc at the beginning there was very little (sane) but at the end there was a lot (insane) Also for 7:14 it looks like miku is pleading so basically saying "help please"? Maybe?
my theory about the tridecagram (immortality shape) represents how in the mesmerizer world, you don’t have to worry about problems in life such as aging and inevitably dying
8:01 at that part , you can realize that's the sign of help but she isn't just asking to save her, she is also asking to save *miku* . Apparently miku can get hypnotized easily while teto is harder to hypnotize, I don't know if teto is a talkloid or a vocaloid. The confetti also distracts you from teto's help/sos signs.
I have a little bit to add on. The background starts to blur when Miku gets mesmerized because when you look at a watch or a necklace swing around your vision gets blurry. The only thing that doesn’t get blurry is something close, that’s why we only saw Miku instead of the whole screen getting blurred. The reason Teto’s doesn’t blur is because she tries to fight it. Every day she tries to fight it, but she quit at the end. Also, if you stare where it says to focus your vision also starts to blur a bit. This video is meant to hypnotize you, to experience what happened to Miku and Teto. That’s all
You probably figured this out already but the circle text that you tried to google translate at 6:34 is just the word mesmerzer four times in a loop in Katakana (me zu ma ra i sa-a).
Also take notice that a part when miku dances right before her hypnosis her limbs are bent in humanly. And teto was probably calling for help because she knew about the hypnosis in the beginning.
Short Version: The Circle Of Japanese translates to "mesmerizer" I don't know if anyone has done it yet but I tried translating the circle thing with the Japanese text (featured near the beginning of the music video part) The text is in katakana (Japanese character type) and it says メズマライザー/mezumaraiza- repeated four times in a circle which translates to mesmerizer. It isn't much and was excepted from the parts good translate did detect but it moves it out of the way I guess.
Notice this: Teto was standing for days fighting hypnosis She was using sign language at 1:31 to 1:49 Notice the confettis it would be different Teto was using morse code at the Quiz Time Same time as the another morse code (…--…) Means SOS Notice the thumbnail? It spelt SOS Miku as a S (Saluting) the sun as O and Teto as a S (Saluting) Notice how Teto smiles at the end? She probably got hypnotized When Miku was Hypnotized she didn’t sync with Teto she was a bit faster And she can’t stop because if Teto even stop she wouldn’t
My theory is that when it says “a bot-like cycle” I think it means teto and miku been doing the same thing everyday so the lyrics is suggesting to surrender cus the cycle won’t end. And also at the start where it shows the text bubble things, miku is hinting depression ideas, while teto is saying hide your feelings. Teto prob had experience something with Mesmerzier (hyptotize) stuff like before and knows how to avoid it but it becomes harder and harder to resist. Miku, who hasn’t been experiencing mesmerzier ever before prob made it easier for her to get hypnotized. And teto was the only one who did the help signs. That maybe states miku doesn’t even realize she is trapped, so prob when they get hypnotized they lose all memory of escaping, so teto been surviving it for a while. Teto got really surprised to see miku look like that when she got hypnotized cus the hypnotize stuff never made that happen before. Whenever they get hypnotized really bad their puplis turn black.and they lose full contact with their body and it’s only the hypnotize stuff happing. It’s a theory what do yall think?
A thing I'd like to point out is their outfits. Something about them looks like they're workers in some sort of amusement park. But they're not just workers, they're the mascots. My theory is that they seek escapism by playing these whimsical characters in a whimsical amusement park that provides escapism for the people that visit. I'm still not entirely sure how this could tie into the theme of hypnosis tho, maybe they haven't been performing well due to all that stress never getting resolved and the company that owns said amusement park hypnotises them to play their roles more accurately?
What I think is that Teto and Miku were hired by a company to do a commercial but the company likes the actors and decided they want they to preform more so they hypnotize they to stay and do more. Teto knows what’s going on tries to get help from the audience but Miku does not know what’s going on and thinks it’s a normal commercial which is why Miku doesn’t resist when they hypnotize her cause she thinks it’s all part of the show.
Btw if u look at the middle at here 4:25 the edges look like they are getting bigger byt its actually not thatd a hypnosis and the girl on the right was SO shocked in this time
People tend to like the tune and melody more making them think its happy, but the lyrics arent happy at all. Its like “escaping” reality. The tune, melody, vibe and look are most likely that people think its happy. This way, it also makes us think its all happy! And only the ones who understand the lyrics know its not happy. Just like Miku’s Hypnotization. Also, this video is also kinda a key to find out what its all about. (Uncovering the true meaning). Its the same as “Sad Lyrics, Happy Melody” probably. Sometimes it makes you vibe to the song.
The hypnotized trick thing isn't working on me since I prevent it.. And it's creepy and scary how it's trying to hypnotize you and I'm very shocked on how Miku is like being hypnotized while teto is fighting it her hardest but In the end she still gets hypnotized and when I see those signs my eyes don't somehow focus on them it focuses on teto who's asking for help..
some things: teto used signs in some parts of the vid trying to ask the viewer for help what sos means: save our souls teto is maybe warning us that miku isnt human anymore teto tried to ignore the music to not get hypnotised at the end teto got hypnotised teto resisted the hypnosis for 10 days if u count when teto is standing and it turns day and night very fast miku mightve hung herself cuz when she gets hyponotised her neck is more thin in the end part when theres a lot of confetti maybe the creator of the animation is trying to hide some things the music might actually be trying to make you stress out more including the animation cuz i got stressed out by the animation and music the video and music might be trying to hypnotise you (idk) my theory abt the vid rq before more things: teto and miku might actually be in a fake world and the world is trying to trick people and teto and miku back to somethings: tetos eyes slowly get darker more the video goes on teto may be very stressed about what was going on with miku and her surroundings at the end when miku is hypnotised when its tetos turn miku dances still and mikus dances are off beat end i got the info from thus vid and other vids abt memerizer and this may continue soon!

And when miku goes crazy she is is not hypnotized she becomes a monster because her teeth sharpen her body twisting a strange a scary ways as if her body was becoming somthing
It's noteworthy that in the verse just before Miku fully breaks, the song seems to be comparing day-to-day real life as already being in a hypnotized state. It's saying that all our actions, constantly repeated with few changes on a never-ending cycle where we only get scraps compared to the wealthy, are already the same as being enslaved by hypnosis -- so why not let everything go and let your mind be taken over? You won't notice any difference except that you'll be happier when you're hypnotized, according to the lyrics. Miku, given her earlier verse, already appears to perceive life in much the same way, which is why she got hypnotized so quickly. She didn't need much deeper convincing on a psychological level; her mindset was already prone to being hypnotized. It's like how cults will prey on people who are at the weakest and most vulnerable moments of their lives and offer them an escape in the happiness they claim the cult will bring. I have my own personal headcanon that Teto from the start has actually already been partially hypnotized. She appears to be offering hypnosis to Miku as an escape from the drudgery of day-to-day life, but it doesn't make sense for her to do this in-character given her repeated signaling for help. She's already partially under the influence of hypnosis but not fully, and is resisting as much as she is allowed to by whoever is controlling her (and now Miku). By the end of the song, however, Teto can't resist any longer and shuts down.
1:30 help in sign language 👍 🫴 2:49 "help" sign. pay attention to teto's hand (left hand from her perspective) the sign for help with your hand is usaully this. 1. put your thumb on your hand. 2. with your other fingers, trap your thumb and release it two times. also, the quiz, look at the words. Hat EraSer LemOn PhoSophoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarbo (some type of human dna, maybe teto is telling us miku is not human?) look at the first letter of the words. its spelling out "HELP" now every fourth letter of the words, excluding hat. its spelling out "SOS" 2:55 these lyrics are weird.... yeah you already know shes uhhh getting hypnotized. teto, on the other hand was resisting for a long time. 4:25 teto is suprised. teto looks at the viewer with the face that says "help, please save me" when you hang yourself, usually your tounge sticks out and your head is tilted. miku goes offbeat for a sec. 0:33 right over left on her shirt is usaully associated with dead people, signalizing shes already dead..?
At 2:40 on the quiz time if you look at the capital of each letter it says HELP Hat Eraser Lemon Phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarbo And at 2:50 you can see Teto using the S.O.S. hand signal if you look at her right hand. Teto also got hypnotized at the very end if you see her blink and her eyes are black.
Idk if this true but much people says when teto was showing "help" sing (when was stars) miku showed "please" sing and that was doing phrase help please. So theory about hypnotized from start is maybe fake. Maybe sha wasn't showing any help sing, just please is maybe because someone is was watching close on miku, not on teto. So he showed sings when he could
Okay.. heres some of the things I know so far. In the thumbnail, miku and teto make the letter "S" while the star in the middle is an O. When the closed hand with the thumb up is placed on top of the other hand with the palm up and pushing from below, it means "help" and teto was doing this. teto was saying "Help me" in morse code ...---... Phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarboxamidesynthase is some sort of chemical that’s related to DNA, so I theorize that teto's warning us that miku isn’t human anymore The amount of points the stars all have is 13, which is an unlucky number in the west The fourth letter in the 2nd, 3rd, and last one spell out "SOS" and the first letter of each word spells out "HELP." When miku gets hypnotized, her neck gets thinner and thicker, miku was still dancing when it wasnt her part, and miku's movesets dont match with the beat. At the very end, teto gets hypnotized
if you notice when miku is broken and doing the off beat dances that her arms are bent backwards and she is contorted in a way that isn’t human, it could possibly reference to when Teto thinks that Miku was not human and something was wrong. (just a small reference)
Apprently y'all don't watch the whole vid before commenting so here's the timestamps:
0:34 - Part 1, the song lyrics
6:17 - Part 2, the MV (THIS IS WHERE I POINT OUT TETO'S ACTIONS PEOPLE)
9:26 - Part 3, the thumbnail
9:45 - Part 4, conclusion
Also i didn't explain my theory well enough in the conclusion after rewatching it so here (so you also don't have to watch a 12 min vid):
Miku and Teto are actors.
(Also btw, "tailor-made for this era" means that the person is more likely able to be influnced, imo so when miku says "you're tailor made for this era" it means "you're easily influenced")
And the hypnotism scene...
Oh, and I personally don't think there are any meanings to their colors on their outfits, it's probably just to make the advertisement more appealing and makes you more inclined to escape, but I still mentioned it in case you guys want to make theories of your own :D
So yeah that's it
Remember that this is all theory and speculations and I may not be 100% correct!!
My theory for the confetti thing is that whoever is recording this is trying to hide Miku breaking and (maybe) Teto trying to signal for help(?)
I thought the confetti was a vocaloids blood is this even a theory 😭???

something i noticed
phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarboxamide (the super long word in quiz time) is an enzyme found in humans that is essential for DNA synthesis and energy metabolism. i believe a deficiency of this enzyme can cause hearing loss - which could potentially explain why the audio faded out when teto was getting hypnotized (it could also just represent teto blocking out the hypnosis and trying to fight it but idk). also, teto being deaf/hard of hearing could explain why she knew sign language + morse code to begin with maybe
probably just a stretch, but i definitely think that word has some sort of meaning considering how random it is
how does someone lack phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarboxamide tho?? isn't that kinda rare or are there some certain conditions you have to be in to lack that kind of enzyme??
@@AkiraTheDot not too sure, i’m no biologist but yeah i’m pretty sure it’s super rare

@@APEIROMANIA maybe its trying to hint at Teto being one of the rare people to actually avoid being hypnotized for so long (or maybe the only person to be able to)
I noticed the black collar on miku’s neck, this could hint that she took her own life. This is considering the fact the Tetó does not have that on her neck.
this is a great theory considering she was easily influenced, manipulated, and easily affected.
Oh yeah, it looked like a shadow at first but Teto doesn’t have it, and it’s too high up to be a choker. Nice observation!
she prob got h@ng3d cuz when u are h@ng3d your eyes are dialated, neck is unstable and your tongue will stick out
It's a shadow. But yeah, I agree. I mean that shadow grow even wider when she dances.
Her tongue also hangs out which is something that happens if you took your life using the hanging method
something i haven't seen mentioned quite yet is miku's collar. it's right over left, which is typically used for dead people. combine that with the ring around her neck, hypnotized expression, and head tilt

@@st4rr0ll Yeah!
Idk why but i kinda like the song..
No need for sleepy hypnotists I’m already tired
So i have a therie too. The simbole at the end of the song, what does it mean?
I thought the neck was shadding bc I was not paying attention
Also when she goes "crazy" her neck seems unable to hold her head, so its always leaning to a side
1:28 - Teto also goes "Perhaps acting stupid and surrendering yourself is the optimal solution" whoch could be referencing on giving yourself up to someone else in hypnosis
actually given how teto didn't do the shutdown thing miku did when she was hypnotised, maybe this line implies she was faking it?
@@organichotchoco notice how she blinks more than Miku in the entire MV? They did mention that about staring at reality for too long to the point it can blind a person. That's maybe some sort of way they hypnotize them. Fortunately due to Teto's lack of phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarboxamide and her blinks for help, she wasn't fully hypnotized because of it. She was able to resist the 'blinding reality' by blinking as a break from staring at the 'blinding reality' (yes ik someone probably mentioned something like this in the comments here but it's very important to note)
Teto was actually the one to discover and recommend it, but quickly realised it wasn't a good idea. Unfortunately, Miku refused to listen to her

That's literally the same as the video
The eyes really do represent they're hope, and in the end where Miku becomes crazy,Teto lost all hope because of losing her friend.
Their pupils also change from a sparkle to circle to having none at all
@@nelsoncua9739 Yeah, but when Miku was happy? before turning crazy, she had star eyes...it also happened when Teto explained the "cure" int the beginning.
That's all! :D
That's a good theory
I've also heard theories of Teto faking her hypnosis unlike Miku.
@@beingbored7617 I was thinking Abt that too
@@Puppet2gachaif you look at tetos eyes when she looked like getting hypnotized its slightly red if you mix it with black. Shes not hypnotized shes pretending so they probably won’t try to hypnotize her again? Or maybe to keep calm and not go crazy like miku
@@noaiix 👍 you have a nice royal high profile character
there us also a theory were people are saying teto is the one who brought miku into this and then she is also getting hypnotized, that's why she understands how hypnotize work and tries to fight back + the facial expression of "oh no what have i done" when miku was hypnotized and became crazy
5:20Well she does also get hypnotized because at the end you can see her blink for abt 1 seconds and then he eyes turn black like Miku’s
Wow I the 2 mounths I've been watching this music video I have never noticed these things
2:48 teto was also signing for “save me”
2:53 Miku sways with the screen, while Teto doesn’t.
I saw the hand sign of "save me" and after I saw it I was like 'SJOWJEKCCNWKFHKRHDOEJWMISK' 💀

Waiter Miku and i think receptionist/front desk Teto?)
5. Roles. with miku being a waiter, shes commanded alot, Similar to myself. And Teto being a person who leads you 2 ur table, shes usually saying the commands. But, that doesn't mean she cant be commanded, similar to Len.
Well, this is where im gonna end my rant! Bye :3
Miku = Gullible one
Teto = Sensible one
Director/ringleader = Toxic one
i almost cried by seeing what happened! i hope you got over it... how are you?
You've done kagamine len dirty
1:50 teto says in her hand " help " and miku says " please " on her hands
AH! YOU SCARED ME WITH THOSE LIKES
"help please"?
"Please help"?
@@N0t_ur1diotS idk
@@N0t_ur1diotSlooking at how they were oddly out of order in this scene, I think it is "help please"
I also realized that they made Miku say the first phrase before entering the dance like "farewell" and before Miku broke
And Teto the last it's like Teto is not the priority and indicating Teto is the first victim of the hypnotize
Off topic but I see you have a minori hanasato pic :D
@@Minoriisbetterthanu2minori the best idol
did you notice that in the quiz, the first letter of each answer spells HELP
7:44 seems like she’s motioning her arms in a “KEEP OUT/DON’T COME CLOSER/STAY AWAY” motion
This ties well with her facial expression of panic
The overlapping of her can also mean that she’s in an edited production, and it could be that she’s overlapping on command (she can do it voluntarily) making herself all the more attention calling like one of these : ⚠️‼️. If anything, you may be more familiar with the ⚠️ with a red exclamation mark, matching her colors, but since red (red and exclamation mark) usually marks danger, that could be why she wears more red than yellow. Her body motions and expressions, her overlapping on command, and colors may be her doing her best to warn you away and be as flashy as she can
The overlapping could be an ability she can do very scarcely as we don’t see it often
Btw another small detail that shows us that teto is thinking more realistic then miku: on 7:51 miku blinks more "animeish" ( like (0_
Omg yeah
does anyone else realize the fact that they look like they work at a movie theatre or at a hotel?? idk it just kinda seems like that
I also noticed that, I thought I was the only one who did
the outfits are supposed to look like uniforms that diner/bar/food workers would wear. those jobs usually overwhelm and overwork their employees, thus giving the song more meaning to leaving reality and going in a different world to "escape" their responsibilities. they're more likely to get coaxed into or fooled by happy-go-lucky advertisements like this because of their overbearing lifestyle and horrible working conditions
No
might be a bit of a stretch but i think girls' outfit design choices help push whatever narrative there is: miku's clothes seem like a stylized maid dress - as if she is a servant under someone's control; she has slightly more details n accessories - like a doll, a doll-like puppet*. plus, blue color is often associated with trust, like how miku easily trusted sugar coated words and has fallen to hypnosis rather quickly, or how she is a tool - a trustworthy looking character for others to get hypnotized by.
teto, on the other hand, is dressed a bit less open - less trusting maybe, a bit more down-to-earth, structured n stoic (?), and like you pointed out, she's colored just like warning signs!
*im liking the theory that this miku already took her own life, hence the black choker thingy - or her human psyche broke/shut down bad enough for her to become something of a soulless puppet of a human.. maybe before her human body got replaced by a puppet replica 😳but at this point im just making shxt up.
aaand im leaning towards teto being actually hypnotized by the end of the mv, while it is a bit straightforward and boring, it would make sense for her to snap: she's been fighting hypnosis for a while it seems, crying for help for both of them and hoping to escape, only to see her... coworker? snap, behaving like a broken horror-lookin' puppet. i can see teto's psyche being broken by the end of this as well, succumbing to mindless hypnosis just to escape this horror of an existance. fits this whole song's escapism theme
anyways, great analysis!! you pointed out many things i didn't notice or realize, super helpful
This is a cool theory!
This song is just so good and full of interesting details that it seems no matter how many analysis I watch, there’ll still be more to notice. It almost feels like everyone’s collaborating to fully understand it and I personally find that very interesting. Thanks for making your own analysis!

maybe even to oyasumi yourself?
Possibly Sayori yourself?
theoretically Basil yourself?
I'm guessing Mari yourself?
Perhaps to Komaeda yourself?
I can understand the meaning of all the english captions so basically and yes the shapes on the first part of vid does called tridecagrams and it represents immortality soo they don't die, and never age
They both need help, at the end teto got hypnotized but she's probably closing her eyes so she doesn't get hypnotized
1:49
Teto doing help sign
Miku doing please
= Help please
2:00 the stars in middle represents numbers of smth
2:13 SOS
Quiz part has Help and SOS
2:54 see miku moving with the camera? Probably getting hypnotized quickly
3:02 meanwhile Teto standing completely still, as the clouds behind her go fast, means she can take this perfectly.. as she squints her eyes to stay calm
3:09 Teto was suppose to be shutdown or say shutdown idk, but her words got cut
3:46 Miku swinging more than usual
3:50 gets more darker the more teto dances
4:23 slowly teto looks confuse by her eyebrows looking at Miku slightly.. until Miku became hypnotized and her neck is more thinner.. and thick so she h@ng herself thats why her tongue is out teto bounces a bit, staying still shock, before continue bouncing faster
There was one part i forgot Miku represents her heart was beating fast or slow thats why
4:59 Miku lost her mind and kept dancing teto part, until the end
Teto closing her eyes to not get hypontized or prob is hypontized
5:22
This represents reality
Thats why, please dont 3nd your life guys. You have more to go
Hint: Teto having red and yellow colors means warning
Miku having blue colors mean manipulation however Miku has blue so she will also be manipulated/hypnotized, Miku pupil are circle unlike the scene before where she had diamond pupils, The tride got bigger, teto blinking Sos, teto wears shoes instead of roller skates means shes grounded and less likely to trip or trick, take notice of the grass behind them + them behind greenscreen looks like they were just actors, also teto seems to stay still trying not to get hypontized like focus on the sky its black then blue then black then blue, teto looks at miku while dancing bc she never done that one pose before it looks like a puppet and more clouds in background and grass gets spiky + thumbnail is spelled sos and the band on miku wrist people theorize that it symbolize miku being controlled like a puppet (me too) also miku being behind the trideshape represents escapism while teto being in front of the trideshape represents realism, some theories are that miku was already mesmerized aka hypnotized at the start but she was able to hide it until the end while Teto fought back until the end, so that's why she calls out for help but Miku doesnt (she did just the please sign) and yes my theory is that teto didn't get hypnotized at the end she was pretending to he and stay calm to preserve her sanity they're also hiding us that we dont know their hypontizing us (bc my sister is watching this song nonstop the fact i had to take her phone away)
6:33 - It says mesmerizer in katakana
I think it’s kanji
@@defokochuits just the word mesmerizer written in katakana. like “mezumeraizaa”
@@defokochu there are three different ways to write in Japanese. Hiragana, Katakana, and kanji. Katakana is usually used when writing foreign words or names, and since "Memorizer" is not Japanese, its written in Katakana. Hope that helps
if u saw miku's neck at 11:40, u can see that it gets thinner and thinner, and that's abnormal
4:27 miku looks like that cause if you hang yourself on something you're tounge sticks outs and you will have a broken and dislocated neck
Underrated

btw vulnerabilities is purposely misspelled to reflect the original lyrics... and there are some internet slang sounding lyrics
another thing is that miku has a choker around her neck, and a lot of people theorized that it meant miku hung herself or something. along with the choker, mikus neck keeps changing from normal to skinny when shes dancing at the end, another sign that she hung herself
at least thats what others said idk 😞😞😞
At 7:45 Teto purposely messes up to avoid being hypnotized.
Their outfits come from like certain jobs you see on TV (ehem ehem Back to the Future) like Miku wearing those maid outfits with rollerskates you see on those 90s bars and Teto wears the other maid outfits but with shoes so referencing that this is a show is possible.
I could just imagine that the company is tryna promote escapism through the lives of workers ykyk
The stars at the start represent "immortality" idk about the others tho-
The thingy where tetos hand is on a thumbs up and on her other hand is a sign of SOS.
Miku be entering an average vtuber agency
Actually, i remember on a different video that someone in the comments said that the confetti represents miku and teto's sanity, and this actually makes sense as we see more confetti when we see miku get hypnotized and start dancing and some confetti Over laps the entire screen even at the end theres so much confetti that its almost a bit tough to see miku and teto.
4:59 I just notice when Teto part both of them we're offbeat (miku dance slower, meanwhile teto dance faster)
Girl tysm for that! your point of view is wise and you told me the whole thing on a way that now i understand all of it! and congrats to the creator that worked on each detail and the puzzles
i’m adding on that the confetti in the mv was used to try to hide teto’s hypnotism at the very end perhaps(?)
the confetti was also probably added as the editor’s choice(?)
if u also didnt know Miku’s neck became thicker to thinner each time she danced
1:43 teto actually is doing a help sign there and miku the please sign .so it is "help please"
The confetti represents their sanity,
Less=sane
More=insane
1:36 teto is asking for help with the gesture.
another thing i noticed is that in teto's swinging coin scene, the audio gets muffled (hear no evil) her eyes get foggy (see no evil) and then she covers her mouth (speak no evil)
i didnt know there were this many meanings from an animation 😭 thanks for sharing all this! it makes the animation more understanding by its lore!
Is it just me but when theres like 3 tetos falling, it means something, like mabye she tryed to escape there and then, but it didnt work? But something has to do with her falling
This is the most comprehensive analysis I've seen. Well done.
I have noticed something myself that wasn't mentioned: I think Miku closes her eyes in the second chorus in order to conceal what's lurking below
I've also heard that the vertical arrangement of both of them could represent the short form content that's ever so common now, you can see people spend hours on those videos in a scrolling loop, thus being in a "bot-like cycle" and hypnotized
Also I just noticed, Teto looks significantly more tired towards the end. In the beginning, her eyes were wide open, but at the end, they were squinting a bit
i noticed that when miku is hypnotized and dancing, her neck is becoming thinner and thicker
Yeah and her arms aren't like Tetos when dancing at that point
Yesh looks like I am not the only one😂 My brother pointed that out too
Nahh, her neck isn't getting thinner or thicker...
It only looks like that because her earings have the same color as her hair... When she sways her earing would block a portion of her neck from our sight, making it looks like it's changing forms...
Sorry for saying the truth...
I recommend re watching it once more.. And get hypnotized
In twitter, 32kai and Channelcastation (I don't remember too well their names) made a bunch of tweets about the song, one of those being that the animation didn't fully reflect the intentions of the song because 32kai didn't fully explain it too well to channel (if I remember correctly, he said it was on purpose)
Just as a fun fact, take what I said with a grain of salt because those tweets were made some days ago, but they are still up
Actually Teto does get mesmerized (aka hypnotized) at the end and she also does another sign language sign with a thumbs up and her other hand on the bottom with her palm face up
1:46 did anyone notice that Miku’s eyes slightly move back and forth?
At 0:35 of the song Miku and Teto are on the opposite sides, with Teto saying 'help' in sign language and Miku was doing this: 🙏 which basically means theyre saying 'Help please'
Also at 1;19 of the song, during Teto's part, the song in the background is muffled/silenced, like Teto's blocking out the song so she wouldn't get hypnotized(?)
And at 2;00 til 2:02 of the mv, you can see Teto looking at us then at Miku b4 she snaps(or smth) like she knew something was gonna happen
And the confetti thing, maybe it means that more confetti means harder to focus/resist which results in Teto giving into the hypnosis thingy at the end of the song
The circle in the middle is a 13 pointed star known as a tridecagram and is basically a symbol 4 immortality(idk what that means though)
When I saw the mesmerizer thumbnail, SoS but when you know the "Triple Baka" in the past, Neru was there. Maybe she is the "yellow Tridecagram" and also the "Hypnotizer" which was the forgotten one.
For the green screen moment, teto is doing a "huh" sound and covering his mouth. This means she calls for help
Another thing about Teto's resistance part, the background changes from night to day 10 times for each, most likely meaning that Teto was holding on for TEN DAYS to not get hypnotized.
Anyone noticed that captions are off but captions are still on?
My therie is the simbol at the end of the song, what dose it mean?
The confetti probably represents their sanity, the more confetti, the less sanity they had. They might be covering it with confettis instead of other objects
1:39 they did the SOS again here too
I noticed while after Miku gets hypnotized while Toto is dancing teto looks at miku with a scared and worried look
Teto❌
Toto✅
Ppl think the confetti is their level of insanity bc at the beginning there was very little (sane) but at the end there was a lot (insane)
Also for 7:14 it looks like miku is pleading so basically saying "help please"? Maybe?
my theory about the tridecagram (immortality shape) represents how in the mesmerizer world, you don’t have to worry about problems in life such as aging and inevitably dying
That’s all
Miku’s roller skates don’t have breaks so that maybe means she can’t escape or stop the hypnosis
Short Version: The Circle Of Japanese translates to "mesmerizer"
I don't know if anyone has done it yet but I tried translating the circle thing with the Japanese text (featured near the beginning of the music video part)
The text is in katakana (Japanese character type) and it says メズマライザー/mezumaraiza- repeated four times in a circle which translates to mesmerizer. It isn't much and was excepted from the parts good translate did detect but it moves it out of the way I guess.
Notice this:
Teto was standing for days fighting hypnosis
She was using sign language at 1:31 to 1:49
Notice the confettis it would be different
Teto was using morse code at the Quiz Time
Same time as the another morse code (…--…) Means SOS
Notice the thumbnail? It spelt SOS Miku as a S (Saluting) the sun as O and Teto as a S (Saluting)
Notice how Teto smiles at the end? She probably got hypnotized
When Miku was Hypnotized she didn’t sync with Teto she was a bit faster
And she can’t stop because if Teto even stop she wouldn’t
I see them as a kid show helpers like on Blues Clues? Since they do quizzes and stuffs.
And it's creepy and scary how it's trying to hypnotize you and I'm very shocked on how Miku is like being hypnotized while teto is fighting it her hardest but In the end she still gets hypnotized and when I see those signs my eyes don't somehow focus on them it focuses on teto who's asking for help..
some things:
teto used signs in some parts of the vid trying to ask the viewer for help
what sos means: save our souls
teto is maybe warning us that miku isnt human anymore
teto tried to ignore the music to not get hypnotised
at the end teto got hypnotised
teto resisted the hypnosis for 10 days if u count when teto is standing and it turns day and night very fast
miku mightve hung herself cuz when she gets hyponotised her neck is more thin
in the end part when theres a lot of confetti maybe the creator of the animation is trying to hide some things
the music might actually be trying to make you stress out more including the animation cuz i got stressed out by the animation and music
the video and music might be trying to hypnotise you (idk)
my theory abt the vid rq before more things: teto and miku might actually be in a fake world and the world is trying to trick people and teto and miku
back to somethings:
tetos eyes slowly get darker more the video goes on
teto may be very stressed about what was going on with miku and her surroundings
at the end when miku is hypnotised when its tetos turn miku dances still and mikus dances are off beat
end i got the info from thus vid and other vids abt memerizer and this may continue soon!
I’m all ready hypnotized! I can’t stop watching the original 😭😭😭❤
Theory about this - Teto - Represented theory could be a clue of help *colors of the video makes sense* as u see the primary colors are blue red and yellow *the main colors* it means theres a another trick to the hypoisnisim *correct my grammar* which means *focus the main source* means the color are the main subject on this vid *so what does the color mean?* Blue - Stable mainpulation *sadness* red and yellow meant *times we have to be always alramed* i always notice the layout is red and yellow means its a warning but sometimes its blue but in the beginning there were purple green and pink orange stars means the confetti if u don't know the colour meanings or their emotions here pink - cheerful green - be prepared orange - anxious purple - fear meant if pink was first to come out it after yellow red and blue and maybe it may be the parts of the music video *pink and blue - happy *first* red and yellow and green *always be warned* and orange and purple - fear *the end of the music video* how many parts were teto was saying help prob 8 parts but there was a part were miku was saying help but i forgot what's the part
*parts about fake charisma* this is kinda releated to a oshi no ko event in the anime about *lie lie charisma* means ur lying about ur true self about the advertisment theory it meant that teto and miku were meant to be saying the actual script but miku had lost it so much that she thought faking her real emotions *but that is a mental health problem* about their eyes going to circle and diamond and circle again means *circle means good diamond means warning* so here :3
And when miku goes crazy she is is not hypnotized she becomes a monster because her teeth sharpen her body twisting a strange a scary ways as if her body was becoming somthing
It’s hard to notice but Teto was Once caught saying SOS in Morse code(meant blinking)
8:26 teto makes hmmm sound =help
1:30 help in sign language
👍
🫴
2:49 "help" sign. pay attention to teto's hand (left hand from her perspective)
the sign for help with your hand is usaully this. 1. put your thumb on your hand. 2. with your other fingers, trap your thumb and release it two times.
also, the quiz, look at the words.
Hat
EraSer
LemOn
PhoSophoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarbo (some type of human dna, maybe teto is telling us miku is not human?)
look at the first letter of the words.
its spelling out "HELP"
now every fourth letter of the words, excluding hat.
its spelling out "SOS"
2:55 these lyrics are weird.... yeah you already know shes uhhh getting hypnotized.
teto, on the other hand was resisting for a long time.
4:25 teto is suprised.
teto looks at the viewer with the face that says "help, please save me"
when you hang yourself, usually your tounge sticks out and your head is tilted.
miku goes offbeat for a sec.
0:33 right over left on her shirt is usaully associated with dead people, signalizing shes already dead..?
At 2:40 on the quiz time if you look at the capital of each letter it says
HELP
Hat
Eraser
Lemon
Phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarbo
And at 2:50 you can see Teto using the S.O.S. hand signal if you look at her right hand.
Teto also got hypnotized at the very end if you see her blink and her eyes are black.
Hi! I mentioned these in part 2 of the vid
Phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarboxamidesynthase is some sort of chemical that’s related to DNA, so I theorize that teto's warning us that miku isn’t human anymore
The amount of points the stars all have is 13, which is an unlucky number in the west
The fourth letter in the 2nd, 3rd, and last one spell out "SOS" and the first letter of each word spells out "HELP."
When miku gets hypnotized, her neck gets thinner and thicker, miku was still dancing when it wasnt her part, and miku's movesets dont match with the beat.
At the very end, teto gets hypnotized
if you notice when miku is broken and doing the off beat dances that her arms are bent backwards and she is contorted in a way that isn’t human, it could possibly reference to when Teto thinks that Miku was not human and something was wrong. (just a small reference)
Something I noticed is how in the end part when we can clearly see Miku is hypnotized, Her neck goes from thick to thin which is very abnormal.
