      What story? What is the purpose of these photos? Where’s the style, the point of the editorial? It’s vapid. Grab a film camera, expose for incident lighting, base settings and shoot. Vanilla.

  • @goldrunner18725
    @goldrunner18725 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Man, I’m so happy this happened for you. So much about photography, like 99% of it in TH-cam, is all about the constant cycle around gear. And sure, we all like our own gear, but for me, photography is about the experience. It’s like I heard a painter once describe the paintings as “what’s left after” the painting experience, and similarly I feel with our film shots. And this my friend, being rewarded like this, is part of the experience. Congratulations, my friend.

    Hi Mike! Abut what yo said a the end, I am one of those followers who purchased the Pentax 67 due to watching your videos. but I bought one again, because I was shooting with a Pentax 6x7 20 years ago and to be honest you made me want to come back to the awesome feeling of shooting with this camera again, and put my digitals on the side sometimes. anyway, great video as always, with a special thanks to the model Hannah who is so talented and professionnel. She really makes the difference between a shot and THE shot ^^ I have to admit I'd love to have the same opportunity to shoot in a wonderful environment like the one you were offer to do so. Nice people come to nice people I think :) Keep the great work!

    It’s refreshing to see that there are still decent, kind people in this world. Some of the color shots really grab my attention. I have been tempted to try medium format. My biggest hesitation is mostly rooted in the sheer size/weight of the cameras.

    Son, this is literally a dream, just to be able to shoot at a beautiful home with amazing architecture and decor and you did it - for the free. You definitely executed well on the blessings of those strangers.
    Also, I agree 1000 percent with what you said towards the end; as a creative (all mediums) there’s only so much we can do to bring our vision to life but when you have a subject who knows what they’re doing, it can take and bring that vision to a whole nother level.
    Y’all killed.

    Only thing I thought was missing or I was wishing you did, was get a portrait of the family so you could send like a print of that to them or something. Another dope video though. You really arent missing with these.

    Dude, those shots are so dope! Back in the day the Pentax 67 was my go to machine for everything. You haven’t lived till you do a photo story with two 67s around your neck and run around for ten hours. Probably why I have so many back problems now in my 60s! But if I had to do it over, I’d do the same thing all over again. Can’t beat those big negs or chromes. Keep crushing it, looking forward to watching you complete library. Peace.

    Get a frigging matte box/bellows lens shade on your lenses and watch those images pop! Gets rid of a lot of the extraneous light! If it's a standard at Playboy, Hollywood film set practice on a Panavision or Alexa it will work for you! Look up Ken Marcus' shoots for playboy, he was a big fan of the P67 on location. Pompeo Posar was a sworn user of the bellows shade even on his 35mm film shoots. I won't shoot without one with film or digital. Get the one made for that RZ and use a step-up ring to put on the Mamiya 77mm ring adapter.
