It is crazy to me how expensive AK platforms have become over the last 10-15 years and how cheap AR platforms have become, especially considering the stamped-steel nature of the AK vs the aluminum milling work required for ARs. I know CNC machines have become more popular and as a result, have helped reduce AR costs but still, why are AKs so expensive?
AKs: increased demands and high investment costs to pressing machines. AKs also need so many manual work during manufacturing. AKs are only cheap to manufacture if you have a lot of low wage slave like it was during Soviet Union. Soviet designer Korobov made a level-delayed rifle (TKB-517) as an alternative to AK. This rifle costed half(!) as much as an AKM.
AKs were ‘cheap’ because the Soviets gave EVERYONE and their mum a few dozen guns and a factory to make more of their own. There were thousands of caches with often millions of rifles throughout their sphere of influence, and from the dozens of countries that they traded with or armed militias in. However, as times have changed, and those weapons have reached the end of their useful life, steel stamped weapons are now expensive to manufacture. Heavy steel presses are rather large ‘structures’ and a fair number of stampings fail and are junked. On the flip side, aluminium milling machines can be bought for several thousand dollars, that effectively run off your desktop computer, and will mill components with precision to 0.001mm (that’s about 0.00004inches - yes 4 the thousandths of an inch!) with a mirror smooth surface (actually considerably better than mirror), and you can effectively download the specs to manufacture those components, and as you are milling ALUMINIUM, your output numbers for the cost of your consumables (milling cutter heads, aluminium billets etc) is very cost effective. How else do you think you can buy complete AR lowers for under $200?
AR platforms became cheap because of the insane number of AR parts manufacturer that pop up over the past 20 years. Many of these machine shops doesn't sell directly to consumer and only work as vendor or subcontactor for major brands. CNC nature of AR also mean any machine shops can make many of the parts. Because AR parts are compatible regardless of manufacturers (with few exception of brands that make proprietary AR), the competition is high and price is low.
I grabbed the Sureshot .300 blk Krink on launch and it's been working great. It's my only .300 blk that doesn't need any adjustments. It has worked great subs and supers suppressed and unsuppressed.
300blk is so expensive here in Europe compared to 7,62x39 that this gun would make no sense but it's cool to see a company willing to innovate to offer a very cool gun despite dumb restrictive laws. I love that package with the big ass can!
@@KennethSchmittit’s better out of an ar platform as the case for 762 is too big around, making the ar bolt face thin and weak. 300blk is more reliable out of an ar platform, and can be made from spent 556 cases.
It's because the Soviet bloc ammo that used to be so cheap got banned over here to import from Russia. Of course there are other sources, but some of our gun makers decided to concentrate on making their offerings available in American calibers in case the affordable euro stuff completely goes away
The problem that that solves is not the gas pressure It's the dwell time. keeping bullet in the barrel long enough to fully pressurize the system if the gas Port is too near the end of the barrel the operating system isn't pressurized long enough to reliably cycle the action.
I have a Polish mini jack AK pistol in 7.62x39. I use a Gemtech one can on it and it cycles 100% with the Russian silver bear subs. It puts the brass in a nice little pile maybe 3 or 4 feet away. No ear protection needed....it is so quiet. Shooting steel with it is awesome. It used to be you could buy 2 AK style rifles for what an AR-15 would cost. Now it is reversed....the cost of 2 basic AR's =1 basic AK.
I built a 300 blackout AK from a M85 kit years ago. I turned a super short gas piston. Mine does both supers and subs. I put a AR magwell conversion on it and use AR15 mags
I have a zastava krink that I had been trying to do sub loads with. The twist rate just wouldn't stablize the heavy bullets. This is the answer. I wish I had this year's ago.
Yep same here, SBR'd my Zastava M85 and put a Dead Air Wolverine on it. Run Hornady Black 75 grain through it and I do love the gun. However, i would have chosen this for sure if i had to pick one or the other. Oh well, hindsight is 20-20 😂
Same. I've been wanting to get one, but supposedly Resilient is working on a solution...so whether that's an adapter or a "Putnik 2.0" I'm waiting to see how that goes...
probably due to the fact that it would have to be timed perfectly to that gun/ suppressor. you want the suppressor tight down on the flange of the adapter so that its aligned prefectly striaght with the bore and cant move at all. as you could see in the video, you cant really do that with the detent slots. the booster is always alittle loose.
I don’t care what people say about PSA. They are constantly pushing the envelope. The fact that they were able to engineer an ak to shoot subs and supers without an adjustable gas system that isn’t horribly overgassed or a can says a lot.
Resilient says to use a muzzle brake with their Putnik on barrels shorter than 12”. “We recommend the use of a muzzle brake on barrels shorter than 12 inches.”
Idea I got from this video is clock cog operate recoil impact counter little tab show how many you shoot that's how you know how many bullet you have and this clock cog recoil impact counter do not use battery recoil impact and reset after mag pull off the firearms.
@@Militaryarmschannel with all due respect, HAC7 has the tube going out of gasblock for different reason and again, the tube is going in the direction of piston, not in the direction of gas block.
that meme would lead you to believe that its a shitty alternative, but this is a decent AK. The ballistics aren't as powerful as 9x39mm, but still very deadly, and at least you can actually find ammo.
When a cartridge makes the jump to AK, you know it's a permanent staple. The funny thing is, 300blk is technically a better option for a SHTF cartridge than 7.62x39 these days because of the reloadability of the cartridge. It must be either the most, or nearly so, reloaded cartridge in existence. How many neato keeno do-dad AR cartridges have come and gone in the 15 years blackout has been around, not to mention the 35 years the whisper has been? I think a cartridge gets legs from two places: Military adoption, and hunting popularity. There have definitely been more hogs downed with 300 blk than any other cartridge the past decade, for sure. It's also a great hike into dense, brushy woods cartridge. Light, simple and effective. The 6.5 Grendel has found its niche in hunting as well, more for open plains small to medium critters. 6.8spc is on life support, 30 AR is dead, 30 HAMR is a non-starter (an answer to a question no one asked, and seemingly the same thing as the previous, now dead, 7.62x40wt, except more proprietary and unreloadable), 6mm ARC is very niche for the flat shooting range club, which is fine, but I don't foresee it getting out of that 25-06 territory of laser guns, much less dethroning 6.5 grendel. The market has shown itself time and time again that versatility beats specialized ballistics for longevity.
American brass 7.62x39 is replacing the steel cased stuff so reloading isn't an issue anymore. It's also significantly cheaper than 300blk and even 5.56. 7.62x39 is king. It's the most popular cartridge in the world and it's not going anywhere.
It's like this is the first discovery of the next level of the AK platform, something like "the AK was always meant to fire 300 BLK, at least we've now discovered that" 😎

Does anyone know what type of side mount interface this gun has? Which side rail would yall recommend for it? Also, does the side mount interfere with the folding brace? (I haven't finished the vid in case he answers this stuff)
id totally get one of those if they come down in price a bit, i think they are cool, but cant technically justify $1200 on "cool" as i already have the short .300 blk base covered.
Did you try taking it out past 100 yards? If so, what were you seeing your max effective range top out at? Supers and subs? I know 300 blk was designed as more of a machine gun cartridge and not a precision rifle cartridge but I'm still VERY curious.
I have a question about the AAC 300blk ammo. I bought some a few years ago. Finally got out to the range a week or so back to use it, and every single AAC 300blk round I shot blew the primer out of the case in 2 different guns. Unfortunately I didn't have a different brand of 300blk ammo with me to test. No ejection issues. One of the guns I built myself. I've Not had that issue in the 800 or so rounds through it. The other gun I bought from PSA, and this is the first time its had ammo related problems too. Both guns started as pistols with a 7.5" and 9" barrel, both guns now have 16inch barrels on them and this was the first time shooting them since changing the barrels. I changed them out when the brace ban stuff was going on just to be safe. I plan to put the shorter barrels back on at some point. Do you know if early AAC 300blk ammo had this issue? Can a 16in barrel with a pistol length gas system cause the primers to blow out because of the extra dwell time? I didn't think that would be a problem since so many 300blk barrels have pistol length gas systems regardless of barrel length. What should I do with the remaining ammo?
That's a very innovative gas system as far as I know. I wonder what the longevity and durability of it will be with the gas rounding so many corners. I'm curious as to what kind of port throat erosion and fouling they'll experience.
Palmetto has their AAC ammo and the price is great. Their 110gr Sabre is good even for deer at reasonable ranges. Check it out and you’ll thank me later.
