      best thing I can suggest is make a plan with very small steps and decide that you are going to complete 1 or 2 of those a week and you will probably find, the more you do, the more you will want to do and then you are moving towards your goal.

    Hi. My main issue is being paralysed by too much information and trying to choose which platform etc. I've got a few different things I'm trying to do. One is a self hosted wordpress affiliate blog which I end up doing in fits and starts but always end up with an issue I can't solve so I give up for a while and do another thing instead. Over lockdown i started making jewellery for relaxation. I did not do it as a business or to sell etc but I have now made so many pieces I have to do it - literally everyone is nagging me! But again I've been dithering over how to do it. I think I have finally settled upon Square as they're the only one who seem to allow unlimited products on a free plan. I want to upload a lot of items (I have hundreds) and sort out my site in my own time without having to be on a paid plan. I have 2 kids I home ed so it's hard to be consistent with my work! Plus I'm the type of person who won't go ahead unless everything is perfect and I'm confident about how I'll handle any issues. Are you in Birmingham? Have you ever thought about starting a local business meetup type of thing?

      Hi Julia, thank you for the comment.
      1st thing is to focus on one thing and one thing only, trying to start multiple things usually means that none of them work unfortunately and I do understand about there being too much info out there and people giving different advice etc.
      What type of jewellery are you making?
      The thing is, it will never be perfect and there are always issues that will arise that you haven't and in some cases couldn't prepare for. But you will learn and adapt on the go, I learnt more in my first year than I could have ever prepared for.
      I am in Birmingham but that wasn't something I had considered as most of my audience lives in the USA and it might be a bit far for them to travel.

      @@EcommerceGold I'm making resin jewellery. I love the process and the creative side. It's been the only thing keeping me sane over the last year. I like the idea of selling them but feel mentally blocked. I'm frequently overwhelmed. Also the idea of having customers scares me a bit! I prefer the idea of affiliate marketing better. But I've got hundreds of pieces of jewellery here which really ought to be going to good homes! So I'm guessing you have contacts in the Jewellery Quarter?

      I enjoy being at the bench and hope to go back to it on a more regular basis in the future and build my jewellery TH-cam channel up! There is a market for resin jewellery out there, have you thought about trying something like etsy to get you started? Or possibly doing some kind of stall when things start getting back to normal?
      Affiliate marketing is in many ways easier, what are you trying to do affiliate marketing for?
      I do have a few contacts in the quarter, although haven't had much chance to see people recently.

      @@EcommerceGold Ah I didn't realise you actually made it too! Yes I've thought about Etsy etc but then think I'd rather have my own site and go round and round. For affiliate I've got a hip website about my hip surgery experiences.

      I'm learning how to be a stone setter and may look to learn some smithing skills in the future. The only reason I mentioned Esty is because it will probably get sales quicker than your own site.
      Have you thought about doing an affiliate site around making resin jewellery? Could potentially combine affiliate with selling your jewellery.

    Thanks Paul, I have now managed to get a logo done, learnt how to use my new camera, its just taking that step to sort out my website, also had doubt put in my mind whether to got with an ecommerce site, or have been offered a £99 pm for 6 months then the site is mine, really unsure what to do.

    • @EcommerceGold
      @EcommerceGold  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul, what are you getting for that £99/m? what platform are they using?

      @@EcommerceGold I don’t know, shall I ask them ? Is there anything else I need to know or ask? My other choice is EKM

      You need to know exactly what you are getting for your money as £99/m is a considerable investment and what happens after the 6 months, do you get any support or are you left on your own?
      Personally, I would go with someone like EKM as you will have support and help all the time you are with them and the platform is designed for businesses of all sizes.

      @@EcommerceGold thanks Paul, the impression I was getting that I would own the website after the six months, I agree with you, I think I would be left on my own at the end as well. Thanks again for your advice

    I am in the planning stages and will be launching in the next couple of weeks. I'm actually following a course. BTW; do you review courses at all?

    • @EcommerceGold
      @EcommerceGold  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope your launch goes well and wishing you nothing but success with your new venture.
      I don't review courses for 2 main reasons: 1. I would have to buy them and there are other things I would prefer to spend my money on and 2. I'm not the biggest fan of online courses, especially in the ecommerce/online business space as there are a lot of scams out there.

    • @jojosx
      @jojosx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EcommerceGold Many thanks. You're absolutely right about online courses but I still think that we need someone honest and straight forward like you to help people not fall for the scam artists. Have a great day!

    • @EcommerceGold

      The problem can be, that people who are honest about these scam courses usually end up being threatened with lawsuits, guys like Coffeezilla and Spencer Cornelia have had to deal with lots of legal issues and while I do want to protect people, I also want an easy, hassle free life.
