  • Sometimes Hard games aren't really hard after all. Let's take a game room tour of a bunch of games that are considered hard that I didn't find all that hard at all. Whether they weren't that hard at the time or just don't seem hard in general all these games fell in one way or the other. Handling the backlog with ease was the word on these entries.

    Final Fantasy Tactics annoys me because if I don’t spend hours grinding, the enemies wind up 5 levels higher than me and I get slaughtered. I also recall playing it as a kid without knowing the zodiac, where my white mage had

    Super ghouls and ghosts was my favorite hard game I remember spending hours playing it just to die at the tower not paying enough attention from a gargoyle attack

      I remember getting to the end a second time, only to lose the bracelet last minute... 🤮
      Stage select, final boss, true ending, never again.

    I agree with Skyblazer. It has a tough but fair challenge. It's easily beatable with some practice.

    Gloomhaven is a boardgame trying to be a video game. Gloomhaven Mercenary Edition is a video game trying to be a boardgame trying to be a video game.

      The whole thing reminds me of the producers. A movie about putting on a musical that became a musical, and then they made a movie version of that musical based on a movie about putting on a musical

    FF Tactic is my #1 Favorite game of all time and while it can be tough for people new to the tactics genre, its really pretty easy once you understand the mechanics.
    but also thats my opinion, I know everyone is gonna have their own experience.

    when I saw the thumbnail I thought that the Indiana jones game was the infernal machine. I loved the game, but it was always crashing on me. and of course, the NES TMNT lol.

    Yeah Rudras wasn't hard, just time consuming. there was a bit of grinding and resource management, nothing unusual for a turn based game. It's much easier than 7th Saga or Tactics ogre.
    Rudra was by the SaGa team, as was Live A Live and the older Mana games, and those are all consistently getting remastered.
    I think Rudra "HD" shouldn't be too far off, now that all the more popular series are out of the way I think it would be next, but we'll see.

    If you love Zelda that much, have you tried Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link REMASTERED?? It is really good and just builds upon the "old" one

    I absolutely agree with you on pretty much all of these. If someone out there is looking for a truly brutal / difficult game, I recommend darkest dungeon one or two. I still to this day have not completed either one of them. Like any other difficult game, you really have to master the mechanics, but darkest dungeon also adds a lot of RNG into the mix, which normally ends up screwing me over royally.

    The not using the prepromote in Fire Emblem is an error that's why you found radiant dawn harder than you did in the past! Just use what the game gives you to finish the game that's the only objective!

    • @ModelJames13
      @ModelJames13 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's how I do it. Use but don't abuse and you won't have to worry about party levels very much.

    • @Talking_Ed
      @Talking_Ed 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ModelJames13 Yeah especially since he has good growths anyway and it's not like in Radiant Dawn you're drowning in strong characters lol

    • @LukesGamerRoom
      @LukesGamerRoom  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This makes far too much sense. Especially since your whole party gets shifted so many times. So funny it’s like they trolled long time FE fans with that haha

    • @Talking_Ed
      @Talking_Ed 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LukesGamerRoom Yeah, the modern way of playing is better, where you just use the characters you like, it's gonna be good in the end even in older games, I think the only game where prepromotes aren't worth is FE1

    The first time I played thru Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, I got to Matador and he was a brick wall. That game is stupidly hard and you need to develop your character properly. Super Ghouls n Ghosts and Ghosts and Goblins are goto games for me as well. Ninja Gaiden 1 is awesome but that final boss is still a no go for me.

    • @bireland2012

      Nocturne is the kind of game that without the internet I would probably have given up on but because of the internet I knew how overpowered buffs were.

    Shadow of War they later on greatly nerfed the grind in the game making it far more manageable without putting a lot of extra work in. Chances are you played it AFTER they did that being why it wasn't as bad as you heard.

    • @LukesGamerRoom
      @LukesGamerRoom  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That would make sense it I hadn’t played it at launch. I was hyped AF for it and got it day 1. So I saw the controversy in real time.

    Is gloomhaven worth buying if you never played the boardgame? Is there a decent tutorial ect?

    • @LukesGamerRoom
      @LukesGamerRoom  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion yes and no. I found it much easier to work with if I pretended I knew nothing of the game. However, it does have a pretty steep learning curve. Do yourself a favor and play on easy mode. The mechanics imo are way overtuned and when I started the board game I did the same thing. Also stick to a party of 2. The game gets harder the more units you bring in.

      It is not impressing so far my friend. I picked samurai but other then the hot house guy giving me jobs everything costs an arm and a leg and now I’m being taken to Seattle hospital every time I die and needing to waste money to get back to the starting area. When does it get fun? lol

      @LukesGamerRoom when you go to seatle Main, go to the rhino bar, get a better job, if you can get a package retrieval from a corp.
      Have you broke into a corporation yet? Fuchi is the easiest .
      Also, hire a decker and switch to them and random attack a server, or spend point to be decker.
      In the middle part of Seattle the bottom left building is unmarked. They buy data....best money in the game.
      Play the storyline and its a great story too

    Hey man. This video got recommended for me, so take my comment with a grain of salt. I think maybe the concept of this video would work better if you emphasized more what people could do to adapt to the perceived difficulty of the mechanics in question. A lot of this video is "idk game isn't hard". It doesn't seem like you're trying to go for outrage, so idk, maybe get a little more into what the perceived difficulty of the game is and deep dive why you thought you didn't have a problem. With Shadows of War, was it because you did or didn't spend a lot of time doing side content? Did you blitz to the finish instead of getting bogged down in defending your outposts?
    Good luck man. Sincerely.

      I love your very thoughtful take here. Your right some of these takes are definitely surface level. Mostly this is because I don’t script these I’m going for a conversation and a lot of this is from memory. Skyblazer was 2015, cuphead 2018, fire emblem radiant dawn was 2007. Heck in some of these cases like radiant dawn I tried looking at it again and it killed me so it’s hard to replicate sometimes. Shadow of war I did not rush to the end I defended every out post. That’s the only way to get the “real ending” but I likely skipped a lot of side quests. You make a valid argument though and I’ll try to flesh stuff out better when I can and Ty for the feedback.

    Yeah, It baffles me that people find Final Fantasy Tactics hard. When I played it, I had zero experience with any tactical game, RPG or otherwise. And yes, the Wiegraf fight was the only somewhat challenging fight. I was actually disappointed how easy it was and to this day, I wish they would remake it with a hard mode (and extra content, of course).
