Alissa white-gluz is a canadian singer. If you want to see more from her, I would recommend “Panophobia” by The Agonist. This was the previous band of Alissa
Koen Nijland along with Tatiana from Jinjer, she’s one of few active vocalists who can almost effortlessly switch between growls and clean singing and still sound great doing either.

You really should check out Powerwolf and Blind Guardian (Bard's song Wacken 2016). More bands with female singers: Within temptation, Xandria, Leaves eyes, van Canto (acapella metal).
Bards Song is eternally beyond legendary epic stuff !
I finally saw them live last Sunday as support for Amon Amarth... and I have no words for that show :D I mean their albums are great, but hearing them live and feeling that energy, that was something totally different :)
Been a fan since 1996 when they had Johann Liiva on vocals. Angela Gossow replaced him but she has now stepped down to help manage the band and Alissa (of the blue hair) is the current vocalist. Do check out some of their songs with Angela on vocals.
Alissa ain’t the only Canadian gal rocking the metal vocals (this gal here!) but she god damn sets the bar for us to aspire to! 🤘🤘

And also, a more special request: There´s a documentary on Nightwish called "Please Learn the Setlist in 48 Hours", I would usually suggest it to an older Nightwish fan from the Tarja era but now that you´re into Arch Enemy you can watch an excerpt they called "The Denver Debacle" about one of the shows specifically in the documentary with extra live footage and interviews and it´s a concert where Anette couldn´t take to stage so Alissa an Elize Ryd from Amaranthe (almost forgot, check them out too!) fill in for her throughout the whole concert. If you ever do decide to take the 40 something minutes to watch that, you might as well throw in th last show of that tour when Floor was already the singer and Elize and Alissa (and also the dude from Kamelot, once again a good suggestion for ya) all joined them onstage. You heard me right, this chick and Floor motherfucking Jansen shared a stage together. Also pay attention to Emppu when Aliss comes over to him, he has such a genuine reaction XDD

When Alissa told the crowd to 'bang your head', I instantly thought of annother band you should react too, also from Sweden líke Arch Enemy but thats pretty much where the similarities end, Hammerfall, start with the song B.Y.H, wich stands for Bang your head!

I was so happy as aCandian and already an Arch Enemy fan oh my god dude like my god I have seen both Arch Enemy and The Agonist in early days at eh same club oh my god like yeah.
Everyone usually focuses on vocals, but the guitars are my favorite part of this band by far

to really shatter your mind: Broken By The Scream: Message 0 Live in Tokyo) two female screams (1 high one low) and 2 clean singers...all awesome. Has to be a live track otherwise you wont believe the scream/growl combo could be that brutal.

Yeah! I love Arch Enemy \m/ Such powerful, aggressive and solid guitarwork, excellent solos and high energy songs. No clean vocals - the guitars makes the melodies (well ok, they have like one song with some clean vocals) Alissa that you saw here is their third singer (can you actually say singer...?) There's a never ending debate among fans who is the best, but personally I like them all.
To me it's all about the guitars - although the harsh vocals brings the right amount of aggression and attitude to the songs. The singer before Alissa was also female - Angela, but she quit to become the bands manager. Check her out too - there are some great live videos from Japan - I'm sure you will get suggestions :-)

I like Alissa best and Angela second, but I could never bring myself to like Johan's vocals, they're just kinda shouting. He did sound good when he did a show with Alissa a few years ago.

I know this will get lost in the many many comments but I'll try anyway. That guitarist you mentioned at the beginning is called Jeff Loomis, the band asked him to join and as good as he is here, he's wasted in the band. His solo stuff and, more importantly his work in Nevermore is phenomenal. Definitely worth a listen. Nevermore - Enemies of Reality and This Godless Endeavour, two personal favourites

Alissa is unreal! She is so strong! A few weeks ago I was at their show, she was great, but the next day I heard that she had a temperature above 40 degrees!
this concert was the last of the night, started like 1 or 2 in the morning. I was there. it was absolutely crazy.
Okay, so here's the deal. I've requested that you react to Kamelot, it hasn't happened yet and that's okay. But you should know, that the song I requested, Sacrimony, actually features this blue haired beauty so maybe now that you know that, you'll go ahead and take my recommendation. Not to mention, if you find that you like Kamelot, they're touring the US very soon and put on an amazing show. And Arch Enemy will be here soon too. I'm seeing them in October.

If you want more great female led metal might I suggest In This Moment - Maria Brink, New Years Day - Ash Costella, Halestorm - Lzzy Hale, and Stiched Up Heart - Alecia "Mixi" Demner. Also the band Amaranthe which has 3 singers one of which is Elize Ryd formerly of Kamelot. Elize helped cover the 2012 Nightwish Denver concert when Anette got sick and went to the hospital, it was pretty cool watching her and Alissa (now singer of Arch enemy) singing Nightwish songs. It was also after that concert Anette was fired and replaced by Floor.

Now you'll get about 8 million comments about Alissa vs. Angela... Though you probably should check both out. Both are great screamers, just different - Alissa (blue hair, current singer) is a fry screamer, while Angela (blonde, best abs of any man woman or album cover in music) is a false chord screamer. Different techniques, Alissa's allows for longer phrasing and more activity on stage while Angela is deeper and more gutteral.
I'd check out Ravenous and Silver Wing (both live) with Angela and Under Black Flags We March (Wacken) and War Eternal (live) with Alissa
