Great reaction! Amaranthe is one of my favorites. I found them when I came across their vid Hunger it blew my mind! I sought out and bought everyone of their CDs! Their sound is just amazing, everyone in the band are top notch musicians they are just as good live. The production quality of their videos are like feature films.

I just saw Sabaton live yesterday in Budapest and they are touring Europe with Amaranthe and Apocaliptyca. I have to tell you I did not know about Amaranthe much before but their live performance as an opening act blew my head clear off. Pure great stuff right here.

Yeah, Nexus was my introduction to Amaranthe and boy, what a ride it is! From start to finish it gives you vocals that are crystal clear, even the growl feels so on point, and the melodic composition is just eargasm; a perfect mix of anthemic progression and kickass heavy riffs. This song just hits you in the balls, lifts you up over the shit and takes you somewhere special. One of the true great ones. Oh and I even like the story, for what little you can make out of it; is the future ready to handle the metal of the past? ^^

Funny story for you. When Anette from Nightwish got sick on tour, before they brought in Floor, they got help to finish the concert in Denver by Elize from Amaranthe and Alissa from Arch Enemy, who were touring with Nightwish as part of Kamelot at the time. Love how they came together to help out Nightwish, when they were seconds away from having to cancel. Thought you would find it interesting, since you like Nightwish, Arch Enemy and Amaranthe. :)
Totally agree on Drop Dead Cynical! Still on my current playlist! Also if you want for some fun, when Anette Olzon was sick during their tour where they ended up parting ways, there are some cool videos out there of Elize and Alissa White-Gluz signing for Nightwish so the tour could continue. 4 days prior to this reaction i saw amaranthe live for the first time when they opened for sabaton in stuttgart, germany. only knew one cover song before (army of the night, powerwolf cover), 5 months later i know them all. took a while to get used to their quite uncommon style, but it´s freaking awesome :)
Going to see Amaranthe in a few weeks. Fun trivia about the singer Elize. She (together with Alissa from Arch Enemy) had to jump in at the absolute last minute to do the vocals in Nightwish when their previous vocalist (the one before Floor) got violently ill and was rushed to the hospital when the opening act Kamelot (where they both where guest vocals) where on stage. Some more suggerstions since we all know you like female vocalists Sister Sin - Any song really. You will probably like them, very much 80:s inspired heavy metal (they are yet another swedish metal band, from the same city as Amaranthe) Frantic Amber - Ghost (and yet another swedish band, this time the entire band sans the drummer are women) Halestorm - Love Bites, I Miss The Missery or pretty much any song really. In This Moment - "The In Between" for a brand new song, otherwise Whore or Blood could also work as a first impression. The Pretty Reckless - Going to Hell, Makes me wanna die or Heaven Knows (The singer is the little girl from the Jim Carrey The Grinch movie who grew up and became a rock star)
hello, member of the nightwish army here haha. but amaranthe is in my top5 fave bands. they have a BUNCH or great songs. Olof is an incredibly talented musician, and elize is just plain amazing. both the male singers have been replaced. as far as their current line up goes, I really like "365". "burn with me" is easily my favorite of their songs. it lacks growls, but is a beautiful and amazing song with an awesome guitar solo.
"Digital World" and "Drop Dead Cynical" are a must, but I also highly recommend some lesser known tunes from them like "Call Out My Name" and "Future On Hold" - serious bangers for sure! Cheers!

I think this songs are pure description what Amaranthe is doing (and they are doing sooooo great!): 365 (here is so powerful chorus only 1 song can bring me similiar feelings in power and energy and it's Bright Eyes by Blind Guardian) Breakthrough Starshot (very pop chorus, but every second in this track is so beautiful to hear and enjoy).
This song is from their second album, The Nexus, which was released in 2013. During that time, they had different clean male and harsh male singers. The clean male vocalist here is Jake E. Lundberg and the harsh male vocalist is Andreas Solvestrom. Jake left after the fourth album and Andreas left after this album. Their latest album, Helix, which came out in 2018, is full of bangers. Every song slaps.
Drop Dead Cynical and 365 are great songs to listen too. Both on my workout list. Love Amaranthe. Getting to see them for the first time in Charlotte, NC in October. And if you really want to get your heart racing, listen (watch) to Timmo Tolkki's Enshrined in my Memory' with Elize singing.

The singer and her husband were part of another band called Iwrestledabearonce, but that band kinda stopped so they left and formed this one. Female fronted band if you hadn't guessed already, and as usual, it's a badass chick with some kickass vocal power, you won't be dissapointed. The clean male vocalist is now in the band Cyhra, along with jesper from old in flames. They are really good.

This song is from their second album, The Nexus, which was released in 2013. During that time, they had different clean male and harsh male singers. The clean male vocalist here is Jake E. Lundberg and the harsh male vocalist is Andreas Solvestrom. Jake left after the fourth album and Andreas left after this album.
Their latest album, Helix, which came out in 2018, is full of bangers. Every song slaps.

Something to know is their male cleans and rough vocalists have changed over time, so some older songs like this feature former members, and new ones like 82nd all the way have different male vocalists. That being said, they are all great

You gotta check out this canadian band called Spirit Box. The singer and her husband were part of another band called Iwrestledabearonce, but that band kinda stopped so they left and formed this one. Female fronted band if you hadn't guessed already, and as usual, it's a badass chick with some kickass vocal power, you won't be dissapointed.
