Actually, after further study it is found out that the Cebuanos would create a new Diwata out of the Santo Nino after Magellan's death.
Interestingly, the name of this child-like diwata was called "Santonilyo". Our Visayan ancestors simply took the Santo Nino and turned into the Diwata, Santonilyo.
